The Treaty of Invisibility

The Treaty of Invisibility
SKY OVERCAST

Since morning the sky seems cloudy surrounding the village of Sukadami. The gray clouds moved slowly with the wind blowing southward. Nature shows her reaction to the motorcade of mourners walking to a public cemetery.

"Subhanallah walhamdulillah wala ilaha illallah wallahu akbar..."

"Subhanallah walhamdulillah wala ilaha illallah wallahu akbar..."

"Subhanallah walhamdulillah wala ilaha illallah wallahu akbar..."

(That is to say: Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is no God but Allah, and Allah is Most Great)

The words of remembrance continued to be chanted by mourners who walked behind accompanied four people who carried the coffins of corpses. In the front row of the mourning motorcade, a young mother wearing a black veil walked over. His sobs were faintly heard mingling between the miserly sounds of mourners, tears were unceasingly melting profusely soaking down both of his cheeks. That woman is none other than Arin.

To Arin's right, Dewi guides her while constantly calming her down in order to sincerely accept her fate with Dede's passing. Although the Goddess herself was heartbroken to find the reality, her only niece whom she loved so much like her own biological child had gone for eternity.

The funny behavior of the 3-year-old boy was still so attached to drawing clearly in his mind. Since Kosim, Arin and Dede lived in his house, the days of Dewi are no longer bland with the presence of small children in his house. Dewi loved Dede as much as her own flesh and blood, the happiness was more complete because Dede called her Mamah. The call has its own meaning for the Goddess who seemed to feel a mother and a little forget about her wait for 5 years more her desire to have a baby that Allah Subhanahu Wataala has not yet granted.

"Mama Goddess..."

The funny voice of the little boy who called him was like he was still lingering in the ears of the Goddess. Now the Goddess realized the call would no longer be heard in her home. He will always miss that call, forever...

Walking to the left of Arin, Mahmud seemed to be limping to embrace tightly Abah Dul's shoulder which swept him. His head was still wrapped in a circular bandage cloth, still clearly visible red splashes on the forehead and side of the head stained the white of the bandage. His right hand was wrapped in a buffer cloth that was also covered with bandages to the base of the elbow and some wounds on both legs appeared to still bleed that was seeped in bandages.

Mahmud himself should not be allowed to leave the hospital because his condition is still unstable and in shock. Added to that with the wounds on his body, so the doctor forbade him to go home. But because of the urge to see his nephew for the last time, finally Mahmud whistled loudly forcing himself to go home for a moment just to be able to take Dede to the funeral.

Her tears no longer flowed down her cheeks. His heart was devastated, Mahmud blamed himself. Various thoughts such as "maybe, if," he can give the mustika stone that maybe Dede's life can be saved.

Remembering that, Mahmud's cries were all back up until his shoulders shook. An extremely unceasing regret lingered in his mind.

"Sabar Mud, sincere.. sincere.." said Abah Dul lirih.

Abah Dul also felt Mahmud sobbing, he could only rub the back of his friend to calm him down. Deep in his inner foundation, Abah Dul unceasingly apologized for being powerless to help Dede. He felt that all his efforts to save Dede had been in vain.

Some time later, the motorcade of mourners had arrived at the funeral place Dede. Liang was already ready to accept the creature of God who returned to his place of origin.

Arin squealed 5 steps beside the burrow, his legs seemed to have wavered no longer strong support his legs to stand up to see the funeral procession of his son. Arin still survives to see her son for the last time.

Arin was still strong watching his son put into the burrow until his body was no longer visible. After that some residents also helped anoint the land to close the burrow. Several times the ground hoe began to hoard it, and Arin still looks rigid. But when the ground began to close the burrow, Arin immediately drooped unconscious. Arin was no longer able to witness the burial of his son.

The goddess immediately grabbed Arin's body before her head fell on the grave building behind her. The Goddess's cry again erupted after having stopped for a while to see her sister Pinsan.

Among the mourners who came to meet Dede's funeral procession, a mist-shaped figure stood behind the pilgrims. The figure was standing under an Asam tree not far from where Dede was buried. The figure is Kosim, the look in his eyes looks I see the procession. No one knew of his presence, perhaps only Abah Dul and the Arifins could see him if they knew there was a Cosim among the mourners.

Some time later the funeral procession Dede was completed with the end of the prayer led by Arifin. One by one, the mourners who delivered Dede's body left the cemetery.

Now live Mahmud, Abah Dul, and Dewi who hold the body of Arin who is still unconscious, all squatting facing the mountains of red soil on top of which scattered flowers are still fresh. Mahmud returned as he could not help but cry as he mourned Dede, his hands squeezing hard and the red earth was full of emotion. His guilt choking his chest, Mahmud incessantly blames himself. Mahmud felt that Dede's death was because of him.

Suppose that....

Suppose that...

Suppose that...

The events of that night seemed to constantly haunt his mind. Had Mahmud known that that night Kosim came to the hospital to take the stone, it might have been more regret and more guilt. Because he left the hospital when everything needed him. Moreover, he became the only one who brought hope to save Dede's life.

Kosim, who had noticed his son's funeral procession under the Asam tree, floated up and stood beside Abah Dul. Abah Dul was surprised when he looked up to see the presence of Kosim suddenly standing beside him.

"Sim.." murmured Abah Dul greeted Kosim.

Although slowly muttering Abah Dul clearly heard by Mahmud and Dewi. The husband and wife immediately turned to Abah Dul who was looking up to see Kosim standing with a look full of astonishment.

"Kosim?!" timpal Mahmud and Goddess together.

Abah Dul only realized that the presence of Kosim only he could see. Then he told Mahmud and Dewi.

"Yes, there is Kosim standing next to me" Abah Dul said.

Behind the cold face and the glare of his eyes, Kosim was seen harboring intense anger. In his feelings have been petrified and engraved the only word, namely VENGEANCE. He is determined to take revenge at all costs.
