The Chapter 114

"We will definitely behead the inuyoukai of the west, the traitorous woman and hanyou in her stomach!!"

The loud voice of Mio's nobility rang out filling the field where all the armies of nobles, taijiya, miko, priests and monks gathered. A second later, excited cheers immediately filled the field. All weapons are raised.

"Kill traitors and youkai!!"

"Kill hanyou!!"

"Free our land from the youkai!!"

The faces of the soldiers, taijiya, miko, priests and monks who joined were filled with determination and seriousness. There was no fear on their faces. They believe, with their number of almost fifteen thousand people, the youkai palace of the western lands they can certainly conquer.

The people who were watching from the side were also cheering happily. They encouraged and offered sincere prayers to the troops who would keep the peace on their land birthed.

Gazing at the strongest combined forces that they were confident of being able to shake the entire land in Japan, the nobles and leaders of the taijiya alliance, miko, priests and monks smiled in satisfaction. This attack will certainly be written in history, and be the first step of the humans to destroy all youkai that exist.

In the crowd of joyful cheering people, Kaeda sighed staring at the scene ahead. Slowly, he then turned his eyes to look at Kohaku who was standing beside him. "Their decision has been unanimous, we both can't do anything else, Kohaku."

Kohaku did not reply to Kaeda, but his facial expression was grim. The young Taijiya knew, what the old miko said was true, they would not be able to stop the large army that was about to set out for the western lands now. The few days that he and Kaeda had spent in this city, trying to stop the intentions of the nobles, taijiya, miko, priests and monks attacking the western land palace, all ended in; in vain.

"I will follow this army to the western court and see what I can do as much as possible" Kohaku said later. Forcing a single smile on his face, he then raised his head staring at the azure sky above. "I guess, we can only hope that big brother and the others can find a solution to avoid this war."

Kaeda said nothing hearing Kohaku's desperate remarks. Slowly, he then turned his head to look at the troops in front who were starting to move out of the field.

Human and youkai wars.

The smiling face and laughter of a blissful human woman flashed through Kaeda's mind. The face of a woman who was the cause of the impending war—Rin, the kisaki of western lands.

Who would have ever thought that the relationship between Rin and Sesshoumaru would create such a state? He could not imagine how the gentle human woman felt with the war that was about to happen?—was Rin terrified? Saddened? Confused?

Kaeda could only sigh. If only he knew this was the future, maybe when Rin was little, when the human woman chose Sesshoumaru, he should have stopped. If Rin were not with Sesshoumaru, none of this would have happened. But, if Rin is not with Sesshoumaru, will she be happy?

"The "victims on the golden spider's side reached twelve people, and were mostly women and small children. The houses of the villagers were on fire as well as their food storage warehouses," Koga reported staring at Akihiko who was sitting in front of him with Tsubasa standing at the side. "But, broadly speaking, things are under control."

Akihiko silently silently heard the report from Koga. His face was flat expressionless, as if the report he had just heard was not a problem.

Koga remained motionless, he swallowed his saliva. Being in Akihiko's study room together with the current owner of the room, she felt a heavy pressure on her back.

Akihiko fell silent again with the answer he got, and it made Koga feel afraid, because he could not guess the thoughts of the ruler of the southern land. What if he was wrathful and wanted to kill him?—Ayame and their child were still waiting at home.

"Akihiko-sama," Tsubasa who was standing beside Akihiko suddenly let out her voice. His attitude as usual, full of politeness when talking with the ruler of the southern land. "The servant feels something is awkward."

Akihiko turned his sky blue eyes to look at Tsubasa. He remained silent in silence letting the concubine take out her opinion.

"In recent months, I have heard the news of the human forces that have attacked and destroyed several villages in neutral, eastern and northern lands without a remnant" Tsubasa continued in a quiet voice. "Unless a few corpses and flags of human nobility were left, there was actually no clear evidence that the culprit was a human."

Tsubasa follows the news of a destroyed village on neutral, eastern and northern lands. Koga took a breath and tried to explain what he found. "You sure?" tanya Tsubasa slowly stared intently at Koga. "Are you sure of your sense of smell?"

Stared that way by Tsubasa, Koga became doubtful. But, after all, he remained confident in his sense of smell. In the heavily burnt village air, he really did not smell anything other than the smell of Shui and the youkai from the neutral territory. Neutral territory is the area around the sea, therefore, the salty smell of the sea is always clearly smelled from neutral youkai. So, he can't be wrong.

"You're suspicious, Shui?" said Akihiko who was silent then.

Tsubasa immediately turned her face to look at Akihiko and nodded her head full of politeness. "Yes. Shui-sama could be on the southern land without notice and saving the golden spider village, according to the servant is not a coincidence."

Tsubasa was suspicious of Shui. He believes in Koga's sense of smell which is still a direct relative of Akihiko, the wolf youkai from the south. That's why Shui became increasingly suspicious. Other than human corpses, there was no other smell of youkai other than the smell of youkai from the neutral territory left behind. "Akihiko-sama." call Koga suddenly quietly, even though he knows Akihiko has ended this meeting. The order has been given, its existence is no longer needed. However, he felt he had to tell the southern suzerain that there would be one more piece of information.

Swallowing his saliva the umpteenth time, Koga looked at Akihiko with a face expression full of doubt and also undeniably frightened. "Hamba wants to report something to you."

Akihiko simply turned his gaze back to Koga. His eyes were sharp and made the wolf youkai who was still his relative become nervous.

Deep down, Koga actually did not want to report information unrelated to the golden spider village to Akihiko. But, judging the ruler of this southern land to the point of setting foot into the western land palace for a human woman, he felt better to report the information he had obtained before it was too late.

"The human forces in the city of Ame have moved to attack the western land palace."

Sesshoumaru sat beside the futon staring at Rin who drank the potion in hand. That pitch-black herb was a potion made by Inukimi. The ruler of the western land did not know what the potion was made of, but from the smell, he knew that the potion must have been very bitter.

Lowering the bowl of the potion she had finished drinking, Rin then felt warm fingers removing the rest of the potion on her lips. Looking at the owner of the fingers, he once again smiled very gently.

"Bitter, huh?" ask Sesshoumaru slowly. His face was expressionless, but both of his golden eyes looked at Rin who was in front full of gentleness.

Rin chuckled and shook his head slowly. Moving his hand catching Sesshoumaru's fingers on the tip of his lips, he closed his eyes. "No. Not bitter, Sesshoumaru-sama."

Rin's smile and laughter made Sesshoumaru eager to say a single word; a lie. But, he was unable to find the strength to pronounce it. Silently silent, the inuyoukai then moved his body and kissed the human woman's forehead slowly.

A warm touch on the forehead made Rin open her eyes, but a moment later she closed them again. This warmth was the warmth he loved so much, radiating across the entire recesses of his heart.

Releasing the kiss on Rin's forehead, slowly, Sesshoumaru carefully moved the tiny body onto her lap. Letting the human woman's head rest on her chest, she moved her right hand gently stroking the long, silky black hair before her eyes.

Rin still did not open her eyes, nor did she move. Being in Sesshoumaru's arms, his ears could hear clearly the sound of their heart beating and the rhythmic meido seiki.

Peace and quiet are felt by Rin. Today is the day at the end of autumn, the day on which all the leaves of marpel trees in the garden have been deciduousa quiet and peaceful day.

Slowly, Rin then moved both of her hands touching her large belly. Autumn is coming to an end, winter is coming, and Shura, their son is about to be born.

"Sesshoumaru-sama," call Rin slowly. Opening his eyes, he raised his head staring at Sesshoumaru. "You know, for Rin now, besides you, Shura is the most important existence."

Sesshoumaru did not reply to Rin's words, he lowered his eyes on the beautiful face of the human woman.

"For Rin who is a human and also a woman," continued Rin slowly, while his brown eyes looked more gently Sesshoumaru. "The husband and the child are the most precious existences."

There was a perceived warmth Sesshoumaru heard Rin's speech. Smiling slightly, he moved his left hand and again leaned the human woman's face against his chest. "Sesshoumaru knows."

Rin chuckled at Sesshoumaru's words. Not saying anything more, he closed his eyes again and allowed himself to dissolve in the warmth that existed. Drowsiness immediately attacked him, and it did not take long, he immediately fell asleep in his peaceful sleep.

Sesshoumaru did not take his eyes off the face of Rin who had fallen asleep, nor did his right hand continue to gently stroke the woman's black hair.

A deathly pale face, an underpowered body—Rin that is getting weaker. There was pain and helplessness that Sesshoumaru felt seeing him.

Shura—their precious child.  The child is just as important as her in the existence of a human woman named Rin. Therefore, Rin is willing to endure all the pain and suffering that exists.

Lowering his eyes, Sesshoumaru's eyes then fell on Rin's stomach. Using his right hand that from earlier stroked the woman's hair in an embrace, he then touched the large belly. As usual, there was a warmth she felt when she touched it.

"Born as fast as you can, Shura," said Sesshoumaru quietly as he stroked the large belly. "You've done enough to make your mother suffer."

There was no voice replying to Sesshoumaru's words, but he could feel the slow movements of the child in Rin's stomach. A small smile immediately filled his handsome face. It seemed, Shura heard and understood his words just now. "Never make your mother suffer again if you have been born. Carve always a smile and laughter of happiness on his face, that's all your father wants from you."

Once again, the child in Rin's stomach moved as if he was replying to the words of his biological father. A second later, the smile on Sesshoumaru's face turned into a small laugh.

Shura—their precious child. How much she loves this child now, maybe no one knows. Like Rin, Shura has also become paramount in the existence of an inuyoukai named Sessgoumaru.

Moving slowly and carefully, Sesshoumaru then laid Rin's body back on the futon. Covering him, his golden eyes gently stared at the peaceful sleeping face.

Rising up, Sesshoumaru then moved and walked towards the tensaiga and bakusaiga swords, as well as his armor located not far from the futon where Rin was asleep. The ruler of the western lands never wore a suit of armor and carried the two swords while inside the palace, however, not for today.

Wearing his shirt, the golden eyes then fell on the pedan tensaiga and bakusaiga. Back when having both fang swords that everyone admired and feared, Sesshoumaru thought how powerful he was. However, now, having both fang swords, he was just thinking, how long this sword will last to protect something he wanted to protect.

In the inuyoukai clan of the west, the sword is the fang, and the fang is to protect. That word was true, today, the first time Sesshoumaru understood those words. His sword, the fangs that exist are to protect the two most important existences in his life—wife and her child.

Tucking the two swords around his waist, Sesshoumaru turned his back and walked back to Rin. Kneeling, the inuyoukai bowed down. Sniffing and closing his eyes, he kissed her soft forehead. "Rest in peace, Rin."

Then, when Sesshoumaru opened his eyes, there was no more tenderness in those eyes. Those golden eyes shone sharply full of determination as well as seriousness.

Standing up, with his expressionless face, Sesshoumaru walked out of his bedroom and Rin. The golden eyes then caught Kiri and Kira who were kneeling saluted in front of the room door.

Sesshoumaru did not say a word, nor did Kiri and Kira. Stepping slowly, the ruler of the western lands then walked past the two twin brothers inuyoukai who immediately stood following him.

Passing through the corridors and gardens, all the ladies and gentlemen, the soldiers who were in the western land palace stared at their ruler. But no one dared to approach him. Although they all kept up their daily tasks as usual, their complex facial expressions were all unexplained.

Today was an unusual day in the western land palace, the entire palace occupants knew that. However, Sesshoumaru had given the order that today was one of the days in late autumn as usual, and they simply carried out what became their duty.

Continuing to take a step, Sesshoumaru then arrived before the door of the tightly shut fortress of the western land palace. Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango and Inukimi were there. They stood silently staring at the figure of the ruler of the western land walking over.

Inuyasha's facial expression as usual; cuek did not care. But not for Kagome, Sango, Miroku and Sango, their expressions were full of difficulty as well as despair. Only Inukimi smiled happily at Sesshoumaru.

Approaching Sesshoumaru, Inukimi laughed. "Your mother will watch, show the greatness of the land of the west to the world."

Sesshoumaru did not reply to Inukimi's words. Silently silent, he simply stared at the former ruler of the western lands expressionlessly.

"Sister.." Call Kagome slowly. He strengthened his heart and courage to stop Sesshoumaru. However, as the pair of golden eyes of the western land lord directed at him, he instantly fell silent into a thousand languages. There was a fear that surfaced when he saw those eyes. The eyes were as usual cold with no expression, yet at once terrifying.

Looking at Inuyasha in the face, the desperate Kagome said nothing, but her eyes were clearly asking for help.

"Cih," Inuyasha sneered later, while folding both hands on the chest. His facial expression did not change even though he knew what Kagome meant. "I'm not going to interfere in this business."

Miroku and Sango were speechless. Looking at the expression on Sesshoumaru's face, they both knew, the decision of the inuyoukai was already round and unstoppable.

Remaining silent indifferent to those in front of him, Sesshoumaru then raised his right hand. He opened the palm wide, a second later, he clasped it back firmly.

The sound of something breaking out rang out filling the sky. Surprised, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango raised their heads to look up at the sky. Their eyes widened when they saw what was happening. Like shards of glass, the sky above the western earth palace split apart and showed the same sky again behind it.

Hazelnut.

Inuyasha and others know, what broke is the wealth that has been enveloping the entire western land palace—kekai that has been hiding the palace from the eyes of humans.

Then, along with the sound of the shattered wealth, the sound of the roar of horses and the cry of men filled the sky.

"The palace!!! It's the western land youkai palace!!!"

"Groan!!!"
