"I'll leave the western palace tomorrow. " Shura said softly as she stared at the painting of the human girl. His golden eyes could still see the painting well even though the moon no longer shone as brightly as the first night he set foot here.
There is no reply; there is only silence.
"I don't know when I'll be back, I don't know when I'll ever see you again.." Slowly follow.
Keep the silence there.
Like a stupid youkai, Shura knew, that was how he was now. The painting would not reply to his words, the girl in the painting would not be able to make her voice out. However, he also could not stop himself. Like the previous nights, he would sit staring at the painting and talk to her.
Shura took her breath and for a moment then she felt a pain in her chest. Slowly, he opened the chest of the haori he was wearing, looking at the scar he had gotten from training with his father earlier this morning. As the western land heir raised his head staring at the painting again, not knowing why, he reopened his mouth. "Are you worried about my wound?"
Still no answer. But seeing the smile on the girl's face, Shura gave a small smile. "I am the heir of the western lands, the son of Sesshoumaru, the great Inuyoukai. This wound will heal soon, so you don't have to worry."
Slowly Shura then got up from the tatami where she sat and walked over to the painting. His golden eyes looked at the painting straight and fixedly. "Are you going to be lonely? I hope whoever comes to clean your room will talk to you like I do?"
Shura knew, there was someone who always came to clean this room. A room that is always clean from dust even though the window is always open has proven everything. Someone had set foot into this forbidden eastern pavilion other than him. Only, he doesn't know who it is? No one shall set foot here, the commandment is a direct order from his father, and the death penalty is given to anyone who transgresses it.
His father's...
Then, does his father know the girl in this painting? Why did his father forbid anyone from entering this place? What is his father's relationship with this human girl? Her father, who hates humans, is unlikely to allow this girl to stay here, right? So who exactly is this girl? And where is he now?
Where he is now...
There was a feeling of tightness and pain that invaded Shura's heart at the thought of that. A feeling he hated and disliked. This feeling was more painful than the wounds he had from training with his father. He was eager to meet the girl in this painting, to see firsthand the smile of that spring, to hear her voice, to smell it, to feel the warmth of her body, yet....
Thats impossible.
Wh why? For in the depths of his heart, Shura knew that he would not be able to meet her, for this girl was gone, for she was no longer in this world. Why does he feel like that? The heirs of the western lands never knew, yet he was certain of it.
Shura then raised her hand touching the face of the girl in the painting. "Hey... Are you gonna miss me?" shura asked quietly, although still silence was the answer. A small smile then expanded on Shura's face, and slowly, she returned saying something she never thought she would say in the world, a sudden speech just slid out of his mouth and could not be stopped. "I'm gonna miss you... I will miss you so much.."
Behind the shoji door of the room where Shura and the painting were, just like the previous nights, the youkai owner of the golden eyes identical to Shura just stood pecking without moving, heard everything spoken and saw what the western land heir did with his expressionless face.
