CHAPTER 8

Kendra was awakened by the sound of knocking on the door of her rented house. "Ken... Kendra.." call bude Jum from the front door of the contract. "Mad..."

With a gontai step, Kendra walked open the front door. How surprised bude Jum when he saw Kendra look lethargic and messy, he even wondered why it was almost 14:00 noon Kendra just woke up. "Kendra, are you sick?" tanyanya.

Kendra shakes. "Not really bude, I'm just soy sauce" he replied. When in the apartment Luna last night Kendra drank too much so that her head still felt heavy. "What are bude and Gibran here for?"

Bude Jum held out a rantang to Kendra. "This bude bring lunch for you, spent yes! You don't work too hard, lately Bude notice you often come home late."

Kendra received the bushel from the hand of Bude Jum, while stroking his nape because it felt bad constantly lying to bude Jum. "Yes bude, thank you"

"Oh yes, Ken. Actually Gibran wanted to ask about his schoolwork," Bude Jum again noticed Kendra's face. "But if you're not well, let Gibran do his own job." he turned to his youngest son. "We just go home yuk, Kennya mas is not healthy.."

"Don't bude!" prevent Kendra. "I'm fine" he turned to look at Gibran. "Let's go, I'll help you with your work" he told Gibran.

"Are you really okay, Ken?"

Kendra forced a smile to convince Bude Jum if she was okay. "Betul bude, I'm fine."

"Thank you very much, Ken. Sorry to bother you," he said, then Bude Jum told his son to come in. "Bude stay first, Ken." he stepped away from his contract. While his youngest son came in and sat in the living room while opening his textbook.

Dizzy still running through his head, Kendra leaned her head against the back of the sofa. "What's the matter, Gib?" he watched Gibran go page after page of his chemistry book, reminding him that it was Fay's favorite lesson. Kendra smiled, remembering how smart the woman who until now was still her lover.

"Molecular formula, mas." Gibran asked a question he could not do.

"So, 2 CuSO4.5H2O molecules are made up of 42 atoms" Kendra said. "Easy right?" he looked at Gibran's face which seemed to have begun to understand what Kendra described. "There again?"

Gibran nodded, then he asked another question, there were at least five questions he could not do, and Kendra was able to teach all of them.

Kendra breathed out her leg when Gibran was done and returned home. Dizziness is becoming more and more, and added with a burning pain in his chest (heartburn). "It looks like I need medicine" he looked for Fay's medicine box he kept in the closet.

Kendra was stunned for a moment, as she read the letter contained in the medicine box.

Ken, I don't expect you to open this medicine box, because I always wish you well always. But if you open this box, I hope you recover soon. Stay healthy, baby.💜

"Fay.." he said softly. He put back the medicine box, then grabbed his jacket and phone. While wearing his shoes he booked online transportation and searched for airline tickets to Jogjakarta with the nearest flight route.

At 19:30 Kendra arrived in front of her lover's residence, she began to knock on the door slowly. "Yes for a minute..." Kendra heard Fay's voice from inside, and soon the door opened.

Fay is surprised to see Kendra coming suddenly without telling him. "Kendra.." but at once his face turned to anxiety seeing Kendra look limp and shabby. "Well, what's the matter with you, Ken?" tanyanya panic. "Sit down yuk!" Fay had Kendra sitting on her porch.

"Sorry, you're sitting on the porch, because Mom and Dad aren't home."

Kendra smiled. "It's okay, Fay." he understood the rules applied by Fay's parents, where they forbid men to enter if there are no parents at home, after all Kendra came just to see Fay.

Fay holds Kendra's forehead. "You have a fever, Ken. Wait a minute, yeah," he rushed to get a drink and the medicine box.

Shortly after Fay arrives with a drink and a medicine box, he holds out a glass of warm water to Kendra "Drink first, Ken!"

While Kendra drinks, Fay deftly measures Kendra's body temperature "38°" then Fay measures Kendra's blood tension. "Your blood pressure is low, Ken. I'll take you to the doctor." Fay rushed to clean up his medical equipment.

Kendra shakes. "Now, I've been better off, have met the cure," he smiled looking at the beautiful face of his lover in the face of a mukena that Fay still wore, he said, he thought how he was so stupid to betray and lie to women as good as Fay. Would Fay forgive him if Fay knew what he had done behind Fay. Kendra couldn't imagine Fay leaving her.

Just as Fay was about to get out of front of Kendra, Kendra quickly grabbed Fay's hand. "No need, Fay. My stomach's a little nauseous, I'm afraid I'm gonna throw up."

"Nausea?"

Fay reached out his hand holding Kendra's stomach and pressed her "Not sick?"

Kendra nodded.

"Your stomach acid goes up, Ken," Fay said as he patted Kendra's stomach. "You must be mostly drinking coffee and overtime." he reached into the medicine box, then gave a nausea cure to Kendra. "Here you take the nausea medication first, I take you home ya."

Fay brought back his medicine box and prepared to drive his girlfriend home. When Fay came out to approach Kendra, Kendra was surprised by the new appearance of Fay who had now been wearing a hijab.

"You're wearing a hijab now?"

Fay nodded. "Still learning," he said. "Well, from a week ago I wanted to tell you a story, but you're hard to relate to. You don't mind, do you?"

"Yes, you look more beautiful and graceful."

Fay blushed in embarrassment to get compliments from Kendra. "Yeah yuk, it's gonna be a night hunt."

There was a debate about who would drive, but Kendra finally relented, letting Fay drive until he arrived at his residence. "It's been half an hour, you can already eat and take her stomach medicine. Later in the morning before going to college I come to your house, anyway if you are still not feeling well, you can not refuse me to take to the doctor."

Kendra smiled at Fay's explanation. "You're the doctor, I don't want anything else."

"Kendra, I'm serious" said Fay in annoyance.

Kendra leaned her head while looking at Fay deeply. "I'm also serious Fay, I've felt much better just by meeting you" he said. "Thank you." he stroked Fay's arm gently.

With the change in appearance of Fay, Kendra increasingly maintain his attitude towards Fay, he no longer dared to kiss Fay's forehead. "I went down first yeah, thanks again a lot. I love you so much."

Kendra got out of Fay's car, and waited until Fay left her home and entered.
