“That's it, isn't it?” Elle was surprised to find Ander standing waiting for her outside the toilet with her hands folded in her chest. He stared at Elle.
Elle raised one eyebrow. He did not understand what Ander was trying to talk about. “Bren Hudson's. The guy you used to tell me about. The boy you said was your savior. Come on, Elle.. I've memorized all your stories about him, so often you talk about him.”
Elle nodded her head timidly. “Mm-mm.”
Ander flicked a finger. “I've expected.”
“But, Ander.. don't talk about everything I ever told you, to him,” pinta Elle.
A frown on Ander's forehead is formed. He did not understand why Elle asked for this. Though he just wanted to invite Bren to talk about it so that he can be more familiar with the guy who is liked by his best friend. “Why?”
“Because he doesn't remember me at all.”
“How can it?”
[In the first year of High School]
Elle is happy because she is back in her birthplace. United States's. Although he now lives in New York, a place far from South Carolina–the most memorable place for Elle.
Elle's mother is a researcher, so it's not difficult for her mother to send Elle to an elite school like her now. Only, Elle was not used to this new environment.
Elle is confused about where to start looking for friends. The average child in this school has known each other and been friends since Junior High. Elle lives in New York for the first time and clearly doesn't know anyone.
Breathing out of Elle's lips. The first year of High School should be a fun time because he will make new friends. But, looking at her current state it seemed like Elle would have a hard time making friends.
“Bren Hudson!” The scream of a girl made Elle turn his head quickly. Because the name is a name that is not foreign to Elle. The name of the person Elle most wanted to meet when she returned to America.
However, Bren Hudson might not be the Bren Hudson he knew. Bren, whom she knew as well, Elle lived in South Carolina with her mother. Very far from New York City.
Yep! Sure oes. It was definitely not the Bren he knew. A very unlikely coincidence. Elle was trying to be realistic, because such a coincidence would only happen in novels or movies.
Elle was just about to go to her first class. However, the crowd in front of the hallway caught his attention. Unknowingly, he walked towards the crowd of students.
“Tyler, I love you!” A girl shouted louder than the murmurs that filled the crowd. The guy Elle thought was Tyler winking at the girl. At once the hysterical cries of each other were put to rest.
“Sara! You went to school here too? I didn't expect that I'd go to school with Sara Turner!” scream at a guy with pride.
At first Elle did not want to care about the popular group of children who had just passed by. But, one in the group made Elle freeze instantly.
High-bodied guy with brown hair. Elle did not see the color of the boy's eyes because he was now on his back. But, Elle knew she had brown eyes. Same with her hair color.
Elle patted her cheek a few times. Is he dreaming? How could such a coincidence be created. The guy who just passed by was Bren Hudson! A boy who for the past seven years has filled his memory and is sorely missed!
Elle pinched her own hand very strongly. “Aww...” strangulation. Elle grimaced at the pain she had foolishly created on her own. Elle looked at the scarlet marks from the pinch in her hand.
Although still can't believe that he saw Bren, but Elle is very sure that he is not dreaming!
To further convince herself, Elle follows the guy she thinks is Bren her childhood friend. It is not difficult to find Bren Hudson at school because the guy is a popular guy in his class.
Elle followed Bren starting from the cafeteria at lunchtime. At that time the guy was chatting with his friends. When observing Bren's face, Elle was very sure that he was the Bren he knew.
Elle made sure again when the clock came home from school. Elle rushes to find Bren's whereabouts and follows him to his locker. Elle peeked out from behind the rows of lockers. Repeatedly making sure that he did not see wrong.
After a day of following Bren, Elle increasingly believes that it is indeed Bren who he knows. Not the person with the same name or the person with the same face.
Bren this time is alone. Not with his friends. Should Elle greet Bren first? If Elle greets Bren first, will Bren remember? The last time they met was about 7 years ago. It was too long ago and they were small. They were 8 years old at the time. There must have been a lot of change between them. Elle never forgot Bren.
Elle emboldened herself to come out of her hiding place. He walked over to Bren who had just locked the door.
“Bren Hudson,” call Elle timid.
Bren, who had his back to Elle, did not move for a moment, before finally turning his body slowly. He looked towards Elle with raised eyebrows. “What's up?” tanyanya brief.
“You remember me? Elle. Ellena Clark's. South Carolina,” bright Elle quickly because of feeling nervous.
“No. I don't know you,” replied Bren firmly. Very strict without any doubt.
“You sure? We were friends 7 years ago. The Carolina—"
“No. I don't know you at all,” cut Bren fast. He was breathing rough. “This sucks so much. Today quite a number of children claim to have been close to me just because they have been in the same school as me. I'm quite tired today, so don't make my mood worse with your stories.”
The deg!
Bren's words are so sharp. It was so sharp that it made Elle go silent for a moment and freeze, fixated and silent. Elle did not expect at all that he would get such a sharp reply from Bren.
Elle blinked her eyes a few times until she managed to control herself. Bren doesn't remember it. 7 Years is not a short time.
A big smile was on Elle's lips. It's okay if Bren doesn't remember. Enough Elle to remember Bren and their memories. Elle can take that. “Sorry. I didn't mean to bother you. I thought you were the one I knew.”
“Bren you were so long!” the screams of a girl made Elle look back. A girl is seen waiting for Bren with a bored face.
Bren walked past Elle while glaring and glanced cynically at Elle. Then the boy no longer turned his head even a little towards Elle until he was completely lost behind the wall along with his female friend.
Elle was completely forgotten.
