Chapter 14: Inviting Elle to Date

Bren exits the party room when Tyler's name appears on his phone screen.

“How? Did you manage to ask her out today? Joe and I are really curious! We saw you leave your car at school. Where are you guys going?" tyler asked enthusiastically.

Bren rolled his eyes lazily. “No. All the plans I told you about failed miserably. And now I'm stuck at this stupid fucking party. Macarons, cup cakes, and various other colorful cakes are absolutely disgusting. Too many sweet foods that can make me affected by diabetes just because of seeing it,” he lamented with a look of annoyance.

There was a loud laughter across the phone. “Seriously, Bren? What did you do to get stuck in a shit party like that?” this time Joe spoke.

“I also don't know what I'm doing here. I'm obviously really bored. Can you guys pick me up? I'll send you the address.”

”Good. Waita minute. We'll save you soon. But, if you change your mind and choose to stay at that party—"

“Kutonggu. Don't take too long. Or I'll die of boredom here!” cut Bren fast before turning off his phone without waiting for Tyler's approval.

Jackson sipped a drink in his hand as he looked towards Elle who seemed to have just finished from the toilet. Elle had a serious conversation with Ander. Somehow Jackson felt unhappy because there was another guy who turned out to be closer to Elle than him.

“If you like Elle. You should ask her out on a date soon. Because I think your rival is pretty heavy.” Jackson turned his head to look towards Yellena whose straight gaze was staring towards Bren who had just passed through the entrance.

Jackson shook his head slowly. “Our relationship is not like that. We're just friends,” Jackson argued.

“Really? All I see is you seem to like Elle,” Yellena comments before going to her boyfriend.

Is it that clear how Jackson feels about Elle until Yellena realizes how she feels? Does Elle also realize that Jackson has feelings for her?

Jackson sees Bren talking to Ander and Elle. Does he have to express his feelings to Elle like Yellena's advice? Because if Elle is dating Bren, Jackson is afraid Elle will leave him and no longer hang out with him.

But, if Jackson expresses feelings for Elle and is rejected, Jackson fears his friendship with Elle will stretch. Jackson was afraid they'd be awkward.

Jackson likes Elle. However, he wanted his relationship with Elle to always be like this. No one is disturbing. There's no one else in it. But, is that possible? In the end Elle will definitely date whoever it is.

If Elle was dating someone else, would Elle have dumped Jackson?

Jackson shook his head strongly. Elle couldn't have done that to him. They have been friends long enough. Jackson is Elle's only friend at school.

Boyfriends and friends are two different things. Someone will tend to put a girlfriend first rather than a friend. So, should Jackson just ask Elle out?

Jackson held his drink up the toilet. He really feels confused now.

Elle wants to ask Bren what she meant by saying that she is Elle's boyfriend. However, until now Elle still did not ask Bren.

This morning Bren unexpectedly picks up Elle to go to school together. Elle was surprised, happy and excited at the same time. Yellena whistles seduces Elle from the doorway as she sees Elle getting into Bren's car.

Even so, along the way to school Elle did not also ask what Bren meant yesterday. All the questions are gathered in Elle's brain. But Elle always snags when she asks. He doubted. What if Bren's statement yesterday was just a joke?

At school at lunchtime Elle was about to approach Bren and ask. However, in the canteen Bren tampk is busy with his friends and the girls.

The girls? Elle was really upset! How could she casually tell Yellena yesterday that she was Elle's future boyfriend, but today she's with the other girls? Judging from his clothes, they were members of cheers. A group of beautiful and popular girls.

Elle looked at herself and sighed softly. Then like an insane person, he laughed at himself to the point of making some children around him look at him strangely.

"Don't dream, Elle! You're such a fool to the point that what Bren said yesterday wasn't a joke."

Elle left the canteen. His appetite disappeared instantly.

Angry elle. Not angry at who. Angry at Bren who is close to another girl or angry at himself who is too hopeful. Elle doesn't know for sure.

Why should he be angry at Bren who is close to the girls? Bren is always surrounded by beautiful girls. Breathing out of Elle's mouth. He should not hope for the impossible.

After school Bren waits for Elle to come home together. However, Elle refuses and says that he will be home by bus.

“You're mad at me?” asked Bren who was busy watching Elle who had been trying hard to avoid her gaze.

“No. I'm not mad at you,” said Elle briefly without turning her head towards Bren.

Elle closed her eyes for a moment. “I'm not mad at you, Bren. I was angry at myself for expecting you! Can you breed you alone until my childish jealousy is gone?” Elle wanted to shout that sentence. But, he snuffed and even extended a smile as best he could.

“I can go home by myself, Bren. So, you can go now.”

“You kicked me out?” Bren looks riled up when he hears Elle driving him away.

“No. I didn't kick you—“

“Then you have to come home with me.” Bren pulled Elle's wrist.

Elle no longer dared to protest or protest at Bren's actions. Because Bren's face now looks indisputable. Elle obeyed Bren. He got into Bren's car.

All the way they were silent. Bren did not speak a word. And Elle was too scared to say anything.

Until they reached the front of Elle's house, they were still silent to each other. The car engine is turned off. It feels uncomfortable like this. So, Elle timidly asked Bren, “You're mad at me?”

Bren's face looked confused. “No.”

“You haven't spoken to me since. I thought you were mad.”

“I thought you were mad at me and didn't want to talk to me. That's why I've been quiet since.”

“I'm not mad at you. It's just—"

“Only?” Bren is waiting for the continuation of Elle's sentence.

Elle covered her lips and closed her eyes. All righty! There is no harm in asking. Elle opened her eyes and began to question doubtfully. “About what you said at Ander's party yesterday. About you confessing to Yellena that you're my boyfriend-to-be. What do you mean…." Elle lowered her head and let out her breath slowly. "Once again.forget it. I'm just asking the origin. Forget what just—“

“I mean? Like I said. I was going to be your girlfriend.” Bren looked seriously at Elle. “So, Elle. Will you date me?”

Elle's eyes rounded for a moment. “A-what?” said nervous.
