Bren can only see Elle's back drifting away. He wants to prevent Elle's departure, but is not.
Bren was breathing rough. Fuck Elle's anger. Fuck the bet. He no longer cares if he wants to or loses a bet.
Sara's more important than her stupid bets with Tyler and Joe. I mean, anyway Sara is Bren's friend. He didn't like anyone else insulting his friend. Moreover, his friendship and Sara is not for a moment.
That's how important Sara is to Bren.
Bren turned around and left the canteen. He soon caught up with his friends.
Sharon stopped crying. Elle took him to the toilet and helped Sharon clean up.
Elle helps Sharon wash her hair in the sink. Then dry it with a hand dryer.
Of course, their actions both managed to attract the attention of some girls who went to the toilet. But Elle doesn't care. The most important thing now was Sharon. Not the uncomfortable feeling of being noticed by others.
When Sharon was changing clothes and Elle was waiting outside, somehow Elle's mind suddenly floated. Bren again filled his mind.
What if Bren had a reason to sniff Sharon? What if Bren is innocent? They say Sharon's two-faced. That right?
Elle shook her head strongly.
"Conscious Elle! This is not the time to doubt your friend! Sharon was obviously being bullied. You can still doubt it!" Elle cursed herself in her heart.
But, shouldn't he listen to Bren's explanation first? What if there's a story missing from Elle's vision?
Once again Elle shook her head strongly. His one clenched hand then gently hit his head repeatedly.
"Elle? You why?" Elle gasped in surprise when she heard Sharon's voice. Sharon had already changed clothes.
Elle shook her head quickly and smiled. "It's okay." Then his face came back worried. "What about you? Are you all right?"
Sharon had not yet answered Elle's question, Elle again said, "No. Forget my question. Of course you're not okay."
Elle then approached Sharon and hugged the girl. He patted Sharon's back.
"I know now you're not okay. But, I'm sure you'll be fine later. When everything has begun to be forgotten and replaced with a better memory," said Elle at length. Trying hard to comfort Sharon even though she herself does not know how to entertain others. Hence Elle felt the sentence coming out of her mouth was strange and unclear.
Meanwhile, the one who was consoled instead rolled both his eyeballs. Elle didn't see that because they were in a cuddling position so their faces weren't facing each other.
Sharon elaborated on their hugging. "Thank you, Elle. Because I want to entertain me. But, I guess I'm fine already," Sharon said with a bright smile.
"So fast?" inner Elle.
Elle returned Sharon's smile. "Good then." Elle patted Sharon on the shoulder.
"By the way, Elle."
"Yes?"
"It looks like you've been in contact with Bren and his friends quite often—"
Elle hurriedly waved her hand quickly. "No. I don't often relate to them or get involved with them. So, you just calm down. I'll always be on your side."
"I didn't ask you to side with me" Sharon said.
"Eh?" Elle did not hear Sharon clearly what she was saying.
Sharon shook her hands in front of her face. "Forget it." Sharon packed her dirty clothes.
Elle glanced timidly at Sharon who was turning her back. Should he have asked Sharon the full time?
Alright. Elle decided to ask Sharon directly. That way his heart can be relieved because it already knew the incident thoroughly.
Somehow, Elle's little heart just doesn't want to doubt Bren or Sharon.
"Sharon," call Elle who has managed to gather courage.
"Can you tell me the whole incident? I want to know the story. If you don't mind—"
"I mind." Sharon turned her body quickly facing towards Elle with her jaw hardened. "Do you doubt me now? You just said you'd always be on my side."
"No. It's not. I don't not trust you. I'm just curious."
"Good then. Save your curiosity. One thing you should know about this incident is, they're all bullies. Don't get close to them. Especially Sara and Bren. I think they're dating. They're very close and equally bad-tempered."
Hearing Sharon's comment made Elle go silent for a moment. Bren and Sara are very close. Elle knew Bren and didn't know him at the same time.
It could be, actually Elle does not know Bren at all. It could be that all this time he only felt to know Bren well when in fact he did not.
They're both dating. At the same time, there were two strangers.
However, the Bren he knew as a child was not that kind of person. But time continues to go on. They have not seen each other for a long time. Humans can change, right?
Elle recalls the events when Bren and his friends humiliated Elle when she gave Bren chocolate on Valentine's Day. Is correct. Bren has changed a lot. Elle thinks Bren isn't the Bren of his childhood.
"Elle." Sharon shook Elle's shoulder. Making Elle wake up from her daydream.
"You daydream often" commented Sharon.
Elle scratched her non-itchy nape. "Ah. yea. Are you done yet? If already. I think we should go to class now. The break has been over since.
Elle sat down with Jackson in her last class. Sharon wasn't there because the girl didn't take any historical subjects.
"You were in the cafeteria when your new friend had a fight with Hudson and his friends?" jackson asked in a whisper so that his teacher would not hear their conversation.
Jackson has met Elle quite rarely because Elle hangs out with Sharon more often lately. So, there was no time for Jackson to invite Elle to hang out and share the story as usual.
Elle nodded her head. "What's wrong?"
"No. It's just that I don't like you hanging out with Hudson or with your new friend. What's name?" Jackson snapped his finger as if remembering something. "Ah... Sharons. Yep. Namanua Sharon's. People talk about it often."
"Do you know the whole story?"
"Did your friend not tell you?"
Elle shook her head in response.
"Did Bren and his friends really bully Sharon for no reason all of a sudden?"
Jackson's face was doubtful. "I guess not. Because from what I know, Sharon came to Bren's table first. They're having a chat. Before Sharon finally kicked the table suddenly before Sara finally came and doused it with milkshakes."
Elle was silent for a moment. From the short story Jackson made Elle become a little doubtful Sharon. Elle knew this action was not right. However, Sharon who does not want to tell the story of the true events to Elle makes suspicion appear in Elle's evil heart.
Elle dilemma. If Sharon didn't want to tell him, should she just ask Bren directly? Elle was really curious! He doesn't know who to side with.
