3 Months Girlfriend
Chapter 5: A Warning from Jackson

Today Yellena forced to drive Elle to school. So, Elle didn't bring her car today. So that the event accompanied Jackson to watch the film was done by carrying Jackson's car.

Elle stared at the street behind the car window. His mind could not be free of Bren. No matter how hard Elle tries to get Bren out of his brain, the guy will always remain in his memory.

Elle thought of Bren apologizing to her. Thinking of Bren who suddenly made her friends. Think of Bren helping him today. And everything about Bren being the most dominating component of his head.

Was Bren sincere when he apologized to her? Should he accept a friendship offer with Bren. Elle wants to be friends with Bren. He wants to start a friendship with Bren like before. 

Elle has known Bren for a long time. They used to be friends when Elle was still living in South Carolina. Elle was 8 years old. Before Elle finally has to go to Africa with her mother and sister. Seven years later her mother decided to return to the United States, and settled in New York following her brother who had returned to America since college.

Upon his return to America. In a town far from South Carolina, he unexpectedly reunites with Bren. Unfortunately, when Elle greets Bren in his first year of High School, Bren doesn't recognize Elle at all.

To be honest Elle was disappointed that Bren had forgotten about it. But, that was no problem for Elle. According to Elle, her own memory of Bren and the memories between them were enough for her.

Elle has been in love with Bren. For Elle, Bren is her life-saver. And Elle couldn't stop thinking about Bren from the start of their meeting.

“Elle.” Jackson's call resuscitates Elle from her daydream.

“Ya?”

“You've been daydreaming. What are you thinking?”

“Oh... no,” replied Elle lying.

Jackson continued driving without looking at Elle. “About Bren. Why did he meet you?”

Elle shrugged her shoulders as if it was nothing. “She just apologized.”

“You forgive him?” Jackson glanced at Elle before turning his eyes forward. To the streets of New York City that are never deserted.

Elle nodded her head confidently. ‘Of course.”

“You shouldn't have to give him an apology,” furious Jackson was upset. If only Elle hadn't banned him from taking Bren out yesterday. Maybe today he's taught that son of a bitch a lesson.

“Why? I just don't want to complicate things,” said Elle honestly. He doesn't like everything to be complicated. He likes things to go simple.

“Do you still like him after what he did to you yesterday?” ask Jackson in doubt.

Elle was silent for a while. Jackson was able to deduce the answer from Elle's silence. The girl sitting next to him must still like Jackson.

“Of course not,” elak Elle lied.

“He's a jerk, Elle. Forget about him.” Jackson warned.

“I don't think he's that bad. After he apologized to me earlier, he invited me to be friends.”

Jackson pulled the car over suddenly. Make Elle's body lengthen forward. Fortunately, there was a seat belt holding it.

“And you received it?” Jackson looked at Elle. His face looks riled up.

“I haven't answered it.”

“Don't be friends with him, Elle. You don't know what he's planning. He's a cocky jerk who likes to be alone. Never trust him!” Jackson warned.

Elle wanted to agree. But, his little heart still hopes that Bren who is now still the same as Bren who he knew when he was a child. He still hopes that Bren is not that bad.

Bren let go of Jackson's hand grip violently. Then Tyler and Adam immediately pull Jackson away from him.

“Woah... What is this, Dude?” bren asked while patting his front shirt, which Jackson had gripped very strongly.

“I don't know what your intentions are approaching, Elle. But, don't try to play him!” furious Jackson.

“Oh... so it's about Red Hair,” Sara commented.

“You're his girlfriend?” ask Tyler while chuckling.

“Or her spokesperson?” sara said in a mocking tone.

Bren approached Jackson. “Your name is Jackson, right? I heard Clark yesterday call you,” Bren speaking in a low tone. “I'll tell you, Jackson. If you're not her boyfriend, stop acting like you're her boyfriend. You have no right to forbid me from approaching Elle. Because I'm sure you're not his girlfriend.”

Jackson manages to upset Bren. He doesn't like to be arranged. More and more Jackson forbids Bren from approaching Elle. The more Bren wants to get close to the girl. For Bren the ban from Jackson was an order.

Jackson can't argue with Bren because he's not Elle's girlfriend. So, to reiterate himself to Bren, Jackson again said, “I am indeed not his girlfriend. But I am a special person to him. And I think we'll be dating soon. So, stop bothering the girl I like.”

Hearing Jackson's statement, Bren did not back down but instead laughed loudly. “That's a shame, Jackson. The girl you like actually likes me. And I'm sure a hundred percent that he hasn't forgotten me. So, I'm telling you, if we both get close to Clark, who do you think Clark will choose?” bren asked with great confidence.

Jackson clenched his hand holding in anger. He can't hit Bren because if a commotion happens and Elle finds out she hit Bren, Elle will be mad at him.

Bren whistled triumphantly as he looked at Jackson who was at a loss for words. He then walked past Jackson and patted the boy twice on the shoulder. “Just look for another girl who likes you. Don't expect Clark too long. Because I think he'll be mine soon.”

Jackson nearly hits Bren if Adam and Joe don't hold him back. Without looking back, Bren waved his hand overhead.

“Actually, what the hell is a Red Hair?” sara asked Jackson before she left following her distant friends.

Bren actually doesn't know Elle's whereabouts right now. But when he saw Elle was sitting on the bench on the track, Bren's smile flared. He immediately walked up to Elle with both hands still in his pants pocket.

Elle was visibly focused with the sandwich in her hand so that it looked unconcerned with the surroundings. This area is indeed the quietest place at the time of rest. It is suitable for Elle who likes to be alone according to Bren's observations.

“Hai,” greet Bren.

No response from Elle. So Bren touched his shoulder and the girl looked surprised.

“Uhuk... uhuk Elle coughed at the tesedak. He hurriedly drank mineral water.

Bren patted Elle on the back. “You okay? Excuse me. I didn't mean to surprise you.”

“What business did you do to meet me?” elle asked as soon as he recovered.

“I just want answers,” Bren said bluntly.

“Answers?”

“Yes. You didn't answer my question yesterday. About whether you want to be friends with me or not,” Bren said with a big smile. He was very confident that Elle would be happy to be friends with him immediately. Remembering yesterday Elle could easily forgive him. Bren is very sure Elle still has feelings for him.

“I don't know,” muttered Elle.
