Chapter 3: Betting 3 Months of Dating

“I'm sorry...”

Elle frowned cluelessly at Bren's apology. “Hah?”

Did Elle hear wrong? Bren apologizing to her? Just yesterday he was acting like a jerk and now he's suddenly apologizing to Elle?

The students in the class whispered. Even from the corner of Elle's eyes could see some students creeping from outside the window facing the hallway and also from the doorway of the classroom. He really‐ is the center of attention now. 

There was no response from Elle. He just stared in disbelief at Bren. “What exactly do you want this guy?” Elle thought to wonder.

Not getting a response from Elle made Bren again say, “Sorry for being rude to you yesterday.”

Elle still didn't respond to anything. He was trying to understand what was really going on.

“Yesterday was bad, and I accidentally vented my frustration on you. I don't mean to hurt you or do bad things to you. I know what I did yesterday is unforgivable. But I hope you will forgive me.”

Seriously? A Bren Hudson apologizing to her? Is Elle still not up from her sleep? No one has ever seen a Bren Hudson apologize in public like this. In front of everyone in a loud voice.

“Should I kneel so you would accept your apology?” Bren's words were successful and Elle panicked.

“Woah...” There were cheers from the people who had been watching them.

“T-ti-no!” exciting Elle.

Elle immediately stood up to prevent Bren from kneeling to her. But, he's late. Because Bren had now folded both of his knees on the floor. Elle tugged at Bren's arm. He didn't expect that Bren would do something crazy like this. This will only make him and Bren more the center of attention.

“Stand. You don't have to do this,” Elle said frantically.

“Only if you will forgive me.”

Not only did Elle have time to answer Bren's statement, Mr. Reynolds had already entered the classroom. Get all the students back to their seats. Only Elle was still standing and Bren was still kneeling on the floor.

“Clark! The hudson! What are you guys doing?” reprove Mr. Reynolds.

Bren stood up. “I'm apologizing to him, sir. But, it looks like I need even more effort.”

Elle immediately sat on her stool and tried to ignore Bren. He looked straight ahead without even looking at Bren. Faintly Elle heard Bren expel the disciple sitting on the chair beside Elle so that he could sit there.

The student Bren expelled moved into the front seat with a sour face. Bren stared at Elle, who Bren knew was now trying to ignore. Bren raised one corner of his lips until they were pulled upwards. He did not expect that this girl in front of him was much more attractive than he thought.

[A day ago after Bren rejected Elle in the schoolyard]

Bren trains with his friends after school at his home private studio. They often practice, even though they will not perform. They really love music and enjoy playing music.

Bren's father, who is also a musician, made the studio special for Bren after learning that Bren has the same interest as himself in music.

Bren and his friends have formed the band since Middle School (SMP). They named their band Direction. The direction consists of five members. Tyler Ford as Base. Adam Laurent as Guitarist. Joe Hemmings as Drummer. Sara Turner is the only girl who joins Direction as a Keyboardist. Then the last one is Bren who plays the main vocalist.

Bren's face turned sour upon hearing the topic of conversation Tyler had taken.

“You know what his name is?” ask Sara.

Tyler shrugged both of his shoulders. “I don't know.”

“Name is Ellena Clark. I was in class with him a few times. She is not a cute girl but also not a popular girl. There is nothing special about him. He was just too ordinary to make him invisible at school, ” said Joe to give information to his friends. Joe knows almost every student in his school.

“What if you date her?” tyer's proposal to Bren.

“You're crazy,” Bren comments briefly while staring cynically at Tyler.

“Bren true. You're crazy, Tyler.” Adam who had been busy with his guitar finally opened his voice.

Sara chuckles. “Bren where you might want with a girl like her. You know for yourself that Bren hates redheads.”

Sara's right. Bren hates girls with red hair. Not without reason. Bren has a reason why he hates redheads. It's just that he never talked about it to anyone. Even his friends don't know why Bren hates redheads.

“Padahal this is exciting. You can date him last night two or three months, then you can show him off,” Joe said excitedly.

“If you don't want to. Let me just date her. I've never dated a girl. I think it would be great if I was dating her.” Tyler smiled smirked.

“If I manage to date her, what do I get from you guys?” ask Bren quickly.

“What you ask. Travel tickets to Hawaii I will give you for free!” Joe is getting excited.

“Yes! Whatever you ask for!” tyler Sahut.

“Whatever I ask for?” ask Bren.

Sara looked in disbelief at Bren. “You seriously want to date her?”

“But with one condition. You have to stay with her for at least three months. If you can afford to date her for three months or more, then as Joe and I say, we'll do whatever you ask.”

Bren has no doubt about what Tyler just said. Since they all came from among the super duper rich people, then doing a bet like this was nothing.

“Agreement. I need to record your statements. So I have proof that this bet is over. And you can't escape your obligation to pay me.”

Bren pulls the phone out of his pants pocket and starts recording the deal he, Tyler and Joe made.

“I don't want to get involved" said Adam as Bren thrusts his phone at Adam, in order to record a deal between himself and Adam.

“I too! I don't want to get involved! Why would you want to date that weird girl, heh?” sara looked very upset. Sara got up from her seat and immediately rushed out of the studio with a stomp of her feet. He succeeded in making the door of the room thud when closing it.

Bren shook his shoulder no matter what. He immediately ended the recording on his phone, and kept the phone back in his pants pocket. Tyler and Joe are enough. He will win this bet at any cost.
