Chapter 17: The First Assault

After completing the mission and informing all the events they experienced to the Mira HQ, the crew of The Skeld 385 was finally allowed to go home. Their mission was declared complete.

But even so, some of them could not celebrate that euphoria. Especially Red, Black, Cyan, Lime and White.

Lime had already reported the incident to White. It's unbelievable but White's sure his crew isn't messing around. While Red and Black had no idea at all, but knowing about the missing tentacle section on their plane left him unsettled.

It's been a few days and Red's condition has improved. He can do his own job. But the so-called electrical trauma is clearly incurable. Because of the shock at that time made him tremble when fixing wiring.

Today is the time to do the task. White as usual handing out papers containing their task.

"When to do the task. Finish it and you can relax" White said.

This time White also worked on the task. Since they had already passed this path before, so there was no need to be monitored anymore. Unless Brown stays on the medbay, he'll be there if any crew gets hurt.

Red read his task list. He was grateful that there was no fix wiring in his task. While Black grumbled because he had to do the task.

"Ugh I hate doing tasks. Hey Red, I'll start with the weapons. See you," said Black and left.

Meanwhile, Red started from admin because he had a swipe card. Arriving at the admin, he turned to the side of the door and remembered Fred's corpse. But this time he saw nothing.

Red pulls out his ID card from his wallet, but suddenly someone surprises him.

"DAR!" Blue surprised Red.

"Eh chicken," said Red and accidentally threw his card into the vent.

They were both surprised. Red did not accept and turned around to hold Blue accountable.

"Blue, responsibility my card came in... Eh? Where's she?" Ask Red and then get out of the admin looking for Blue who suddenly disappears.

"Sorry Red for your card. You take it yourself yes, I still have a lot of tasks. See you," Blue said before disappearing like lightning.

"Ck base is irresponsible," decak Red as he muttered in annoyance.

Red went back to the admin and approached the vent. He lifted the vent cover then extended his hand to feel the inside of the vent.

His hand touched something thin and hard. Red pulls his hand and gets his card back. But when it was pulled even further, there was a small tentacle wrapped around his hand. The moment surprised him.

Suddenly the tentacles pulled Red's hand hard until Red went into the vent. Red shouted, but it was too late. His entire body went into the vent and just left his hat and paper task. No one knows about that incident.

Meanwhile, all the Crewmates are almost done working on the task. Black was also almost done and he felt happy that he could rest soon.

But there was something strange in his heart. From the time she parted with Red in the cafeteria, she had not seen her friend anywhere.

This plane is huge. But the scope to work on the task is still small, so there's no way he won't cross paths with Red. That made him curious.

When Black was about to log in to the admin to upload the data, he remembered Fred's corpse. That's why he tried to look at the side of the door. But, what he saw this time was even more shocking.

He saw a hat and a piece of paper near the vent. Black remembers it was the same hat Red wore. He approached both of those things. When he saw the paper containing the task it made him wonder.

There is not a single task that Red has completed. It wasn't Red's habit that was dubbed the diligent Crewmate. But what made him even more surprised was that he saw a speck of blood near the two objects.

Meanwhile, in Green's position...

Green went into electrical with Rugel. Electrical was empty at the time.

"I hope you don't eat the cable anymore, Rugel," Green advised.

"Your woof!" Answer Rugel.

But suddenly Rugel was acting strangely. Both of his ears were raised and he looked around. His nose also sniffed the place.

"Hey Rugel, what's wrong with you?" But Green's question was not answered. Rugel ran out of his employer.

Green was surprised, "Rugel, where are you going? Don't run!" Pekik Green then chased after Rugel.

Rugel ran towards the empty section. The part that contains empty unused rooms. The part was already dirty but Cyan had already been asked to clean the place.

But Green didn't meet Cyan at all, maybe he was somewhere else. No one there could be asked to help him. But it was fortunate that he met Lime who happened to come from the front.

"Lime, stop Rugel!" Pekik Green's.

Lime was surprised but immediately put up the horses to hold Rugel. But Rugel nimbly avoided Lime and ran on. Green passes Lime and continues to chase her pet.

"Woi! Don't go there!" Ban Lime and catch up with them.

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

In one of the empty rooms. Suddenly a vent opens and Red is thrown out of it. But Red managed to land smoothly. He held his injured hand due to the creature's attack.

Red started getting ready. From inside the vent appeared a figure with its back tentacles. He crawled out then stood up straight looking at Red with an angry look.

"How did you survive the explosion?" Red asked in disbelief and remained vigilant.

Suddenly the creature's body doubled in size from the first. The canine teeth in the mouth that are in the stomach grow longer. His eyes turned fiery red, redder than Red's.

Red was shocked and trembling. He took an iron bar to fight the monster. A little scared, but he had to endure.

The monster attacked Red with its tentacles. Red nimbly dodged and hit the tentacle so as not to hit it. Red unleashed all his abilities.

The monster was attacking him even more. But Red still managed to avoid, although it had scratched several times. But he doesn't care about it. It made the monster angry.

Suddenly the tentacles grew more and more, almost even covering the floor. Red tried to avoid her, but in the end it was futile.

One of the tentacles attacked Red as bait. Red, who had been eaten by the bait, dodged and managed to get caught by stepping on the tentacle.

Red can't move. The tentacle crept into his body and wrapped around it. Red is thrashing. The monster approached Red and then choked his neck.

"A**last I got you**," said the monster in a horrible voice.

Red could not breathe, his hands were trying to release the monster's hand. But it's completely useless. The monster power was so strong.

Red's body finally limp, he is unable to move anymore. After that, the monster slammed Red's body onto the floor and then stepped on and kicked him until Red bled out.

His body was getting weaker, his vision blurry. Red has resigned to his circumstances. Will his friends come?
