Chapter 20: The Third Assault

Red is out of his room and will start doing his usual activities. But even so he still needed to get used to it after what happened to him.

Eventually Blue is appointed to help Red get used to it, and because of this as well as his punishment. Black is assisted by Green. White did not want anything bad to happen to the crew.

While the other Crewmates are asked not to be alone, they must be in groups or at least in pairs. That was to prevent no more casualties from the Impostor attack.

Meanwhile, the Impostor hid inside the vent. He secretly monitors Crewmate's movements and attempts to locate the victim. But he was furious that he had not managed to kill a single Crewmate because they were in a group.

Honestly he felt that this Crewmate was different from the previous Crewmate who was easily killed in just 1 day. He had to be careful because he could have been ganged up like that time.

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

Cyan's the only one not with the other crewmates. Orange once offered to let them work together, but Cyan refused because they both had their own busy lives to do.

That day, Cyan cleaned as usual in the reactor. The reactor condition was quiet because the task time was finished and the room was rarely passed.

Without Cyan noticing, the Impostor had been monitoring him from within the vent. The Impostor would re-enter the vent when Cyan turned around, but reappeared after Cyan had moved away.

Finally the moment that the Impostor was waiting for arrived. As Cyan moved away from the reactor, the Impostor came out and sabotaged the door so that Cyan could not get out and no one could get in. He took out his gun and tentacles then jumped out while pointing his weapon at Cyan.

But it turns out he was the one who was attacked first. Right after he appeared, Cyan threw a bucket filled with water at the Impostor until he retreated. The Impostor was surprised, he did not expect this Crewmate to be any more nimble than he thought.

"I've noticed it from the moment this door is locked," said Cyan then holding his mopel in a ready-to-attack style, "I don't want to dirty the place I've cleaned. But because of you, I won't hesitate," while pointing at the Impostor with his besiegers.

The Impostor shot Cyan, but was repelled with his mopel. After which, the Impostor took out a knife and tried to attack at close range.

But Cyan could still hold it back, even he attacked back. Cyan hit the impostor with his mopping, then he took his sweeper as well and continued attacking.

Cyan completely ganged on the Impostor until he had no chance to strike back. The Impostor began to rack his brain to find a way to kill Cyan.

The Impostor retreated then suddenly a strange black object appeared and enveloped the Impostor like an egg. The egg twitched and at the bottom there were brightly colored tentacles that also moved following the egg's movement.

Cyan was surprised and immediately attacked the egg. But it was too late, the egg broke and the mopping that Cyan was wearing was detained. Then Cyan was kicked until he backed out.

The Impostor was transformed into Black, complete with his headphones. The Cyan pitcher he was holding, was thrown and he smiled cunningly.

That obviously confused Cyan. She can change? That's what Cyan thought. But he thinks it's more like imitating than changing. But this is the core of the problem.

Cyan attacked the Impostor with a sweeper, but the Impostor managed to fend him off and counterattack. The movement used by the Impostor had similarities with the Black movement.

Cyan had seen Black make that move before. No matter how many times Cyan saw it, he could never read the gesture. Most likely the Impostor imitated that movement during Red's rescue mission.

Because of that difficulty, Cyan was successfully repulsed. This was the first time he had been made to retreat like that. Cyan had difficulty dodging the Impostor's attacks which combined both melee and far-range attacks.

One of those tentacles robs the Cyan sweeper so he has no more weapons. After which, the Impostor took aim and shot Cyan in the head.

Suddenly someone appeared and fended off the bullet so that it did not hit Cyan. It turns out that the one who appeared was Lime. He went on a vent and came out at the right time.

Cyan was surprised to see Lime's sudden appearance, "Lime?"

"Now we're even," said Lime and then looked at Cyan with a smile, "You've saved me before."

Finally Cyan remembered the incident during the Red rescue mission at that time, where he threw a bucket to protect Lime. Now Lime has returned.

"What is Black? But why does he have tentacles? He's not an Impostor, is he?" Tanya Lime.

"It's not Black. It was an Impostor that imitated Black, even his movements were similar," Cyan replied.

"Ck, you copycat. Why did you lose to him?"

"He wears the same attack as Black. Long-range attacks coupled with melee, how could I possibly fend off such an attack."

The Impostor brought out its tentacles in large numbers. Both of his hands were also holding weapons ready to kill them both.

"You attack him, I'll protect you" said Lime and mounted the horses.

"Alright," Cyan replied then they both attacked Impostor simultaneously.

The Impostor tentacles attacked them, but Lime with his English key repelled the attack. Lime paved the way for Cyan so that he could attack the Impostor freely.

The Impostor continued to attack, but Lime nimbly dodged and fended it off. While Cyan was close to that Impostor and directly hit him with a duster. The Impostor shot Cyan, but he repelled it.

Cyan took the besieger who happened to be nearby and hit the Impostor on the head. The Impostor was yawning and its mouth opened, but Lime who saw it immediately kicked the bucket until it hit the face of the Impostor and his attack missed.

Seeing his rivaled self, the Impostor changed again. Cyan who already knew the point, immediately attacked but lost quickly so he was the one who was attacked first.

This time the impostor was emulating Red. After that, he attacked the two of them with insane speed. The position has turned. This time they were both defeated.

Cyan is attacked, while Lime gets a flutter of tentacles until thrown into the reactor and does not come out again. Cyan retreated and twisted his brain to figure out how to defeat the Impostor. As long as that Impostor kept changing, they would have no chance of winning.

Suddenly Cyan's gaze was fixed on the cover containing the cable. An idea popped into his head. Cyan approached the cover, opened it and disconnected the wires and pulled them to length.

A moving tentacle attacked Cyan, but Cyan caught it and threw the tentacle onto the floor full of water. After that, he dropped the cable and electricity appeared to sting the Impostor.

The Impostor screamed in pain and Cyan looked at him expressionlessly. He concluded that the Impostor was afraid of electricity. The Impostor kept trying to pull the tentacles that were attached to the water.

Finally his knife-wielding hand cut off the tentacle and immediately fled. It just so happened that the door was open so he could escape.

Cyan was surprised and chased after him. But in the end he lost track of the Impostor because the Impostor went into the vent. So Cyan could only look at that vent.

Finally Cyan gave up and immediately returned to bring Lime to medbay. Lime's condition was fine, she just fainted from being hit.

Not forgetting that Cyan also reported the incident to White. White who heard that was both surprised and relieved. Shocked at not expecting the Impostor to strike again, but relieved that Cyan was fine and even got the latest information regarding the Impostor.

From then on, the Crewmates grew more cautious as the Impostors would come their own time. The Impostor is looking for a way to kill the Crewmates.
