Chapter 41: The New Victim

The four of them spent the night together. At 9 p.m., they decided to go home.

Blue had fallen asleep so Lime had to carry her. He's staying at Lime's for one night. Black takes Red home. Or rather, he would stay there.

On the way home, Red was silent and looked out the window. While Black is engrossed in playing games on his HP. Suddenly, Red's head landed on Black's shoulder.

The man fell asleep because of exhaustion. Black smiled and let his friend use his shoulder to sleep.

They finally reached the stop. Black immediately woke Red up by shaking his body.

"Red, let's get up. We've arrived" Black said as he shook Red slowly.

Red woke up while rubbing his eyes, "Right?" He looked out the window and then looked at Black and realized, "Gosh! I'm sorry Black, I accidentally fell asleep and put on your shoulder, "Red really feels guilty now.

Black chuckled, "It's okay."

They immediately went down while carrying groceries. After that they continued on foot. They walk in silence.

When it was almost close to the house of Red, they were both confused with the crowd in Flo's house and reached her home as well. There were police cars and ambulances that made them have a bad feeling.

Black approached one of the policemen, "Excuse me, what is this crowd?" Black asked politely.

The policeman looked over, "Sorry, something's going on here. Please turn around" said the policeman.

Red approaches, "But I live here," Red shows him his house.

"You live here? Do you know the owner of this house?" Ask the policeman while pointing at Flo's house.

Red nodded. Then the police took Red into an ambulance. Black was not allowed to enter so he waited beside the car.

The policeman opened a cloth that covered a corpse. Red is surprised not to play when he sees the face of people he knows.

"Flo?" Red really did not believe what he saw.

"So you know this woman?" The police tried to interrogate Red.

"of course. We were very close because he always helped keep my plants when I left" Red replied.

The cop starts asking Red the usual questions right down to personal questions. Red answered honestly, except for his current workplace questions.

"Has the house always had enemies?"

"No I think. Home of good and friendly people, it is impossible to have enemies."

The policeman nodded in understanding, "Alright, thank you for the time," the policeman said.

Red immediately came out and approached Black who was still waiting for him. There were no more crowds as they had all been disbanded. The ambulance went to the hospital to autopsy Flo's body. The police car had also left, leaving a line of police surrounding Flo's house.

"So how did it go?" Black asked as he walked over to Red's house.

"Flo assassinated. I'm pretty sure of that" Red replied, stopping in front of his house and reaching into his pocket to find the key.

Suddenly, Red fell silent, realizing that the door was no longer locked. He opened the door and found his house in a mess.

"Why is this so?" Red asked and entered while looking around.

Black put Red's groceries on the guest table and looked around.

"Red, try to check. Are any of your things missing" suggested Black.

Red immediately checked every corner and room then breathed a sigh of relief, "Nothing's missing."

"Eitherway. I don't think it's my treasure he's looking for. It's probably the same person who killed Flo, '" Red replied.

Black remembered something. He quickly exits and approaches Flo's house, but is still out of police line. Red came out and approached him.

"Why did you come out?" Ask Red.

Black did not reply and instead turned on his HP flashlight and then highlighted the blood that had not been cleaned by the officer. The front and side of Red's house had no occupants, so no one saw the two of them.

"Red, did you remember anything when you saw this?" Ask Black.

Red begins to unpack his memories in search of something related to Black's question. Eventually his memory lands on the scene when they find Fred's body.

"It's exactly like Fred's blood pattern on the wall" Red replied.

Black turned his head then looked at Red right in his eyes, "Red, where did you see the wound on Flo's body that made you conclude she was murdered?" Ask her again.

Red's eyes widened, "On his forehead."

Silence enveloped them both. Black immediately grabbed Red's hand and led him into the house and closed the door. Red sat down, while Black paced back and forth.

"It's bad, Red. The toll from Impostor is growing and it's not a Crewmate now" Black said fretfully.

"You're right. I was the target. But Flo was the victim of the wrong place and time" Red said.

"I have to call White immediately and tell her all this," Black began to contact White.

Red was silent on the sofa in shock. He really did not expect that Impostor to kill a person who had nothing to do with this incident.

Call connected to White. There was a conversation between Black and White. Black turns on the speaker so Red can hear. Red remained silent on the sofa.

Over time, their conversation warmed up. Black finally closed the conversation then looked at Red who was also staring at him.

"It won't be endless" Red said.

"You're right. We'd better get this house done. Tomorrow I will return to Mira HQ to discuss this further with White," Black said.

Red stands up and starts tidying up his house, assisted by Black. They finished cleaning the house right after the time showed at 11 p.m.

They bathe alternately and Black borrows Red's clothes for one night only. Then they go to bed, Red in his room and Black in the guest room. Black fell asleep, but not Red, who had just fallen asleep in the middle of the night.

The next morning, they woke up when the sun was not yet visible. Red must escort Black before anyone sees them. They arrive at the place where Red is picked up by Vio and Liu.

"Red, you have to remember this. Don't tell me who the culprits of Flo's murder are. Just tell me you don't know anything. No one should know about this other than the three of us" Black said in a serious manner.

"Just calm down, you can trust me" Red replied as he raised his right hand the sign of agreement.

Black nodded then walked into the forest running. Red himself immediately started his day with a jog. She was purposely dressed in sports so that no one would suspect her when she came home later.
