Lighthouse lights as a signal of a monster attack are lit with different color levels depending on how severe the monster attacks.
The white color hinted that the monster attack was at a safe level so that the townspeople would not need to evacuate.
The yellow hints that the number of monsters that attack exceeds the safe level but does not reveal the existence of monster bosses who are able to raise the morale of monsters to dangerous levels so that residents are only asked to hide in their homeseach until the number of monsters can be controlled.
The orange color signaled a monster wave attack with the existence of a low-level monster boss. This is what used to happen during a wave of centipede monsters.
The blue color signaled the attack of the monster wave with the existence of a high-level monster boss. It was this kind of monster attack that once claimed the life of Duke Rucanthes. And that kind of dangerous monster wave attack was what once again had to happen at this moment.
“Curtiz! Jilk! Direct all city residents to move to the evacuation area in the mountain area outside the city area!”
“Siap, Mr.”
“According to your command, Master.”
“Albert, you follow me immediately to the defensive fortress region!”
“But, Master, that place is very dangerous! It's not like the previous storming of a wave of centipede monsters.”
“Shut! Don't talk too much and just follow my current orders!”
“Good, Master!”
Albert's face was clearly alarmed, but for now, I needed to review the situation in order to execute the right command immediately. It's not just me, but it involves the lives of the entire city of Painfinn.
As soon as I got to the city's fortress, I saw the flocks of undead crashing about to break through our fortifications.
The infantry soldiers, as well as the firing and defense teams on top of the fortress, were desperately fighting so as not to allow a single undead to break through the city's defensive fortifications.
Seeing that situation, I immediately fired my ice magic arrows at some undead that looked like they would soon escape the guard of the soldiers.
“Albert, call Fernand and Nunu to get here soon.”
“Understanding, Master.”
Albert immediately ran to execute my orders after he directed five witches, five ordinary soldiers, and two cleric stand-by men near me to keep me safe.
In a short time, Fernand and Nunu arrived before me.
“This is different from the previous centipede monster. Undead monsters will not work with agro because their movements are absolutely controlled by the lich across there.”
I said to the three of them while staring at the lich from a distance with those disgusting red eyes.
“But this is also good since the lich will be difficult to move around like the previous centipede queen since she should not be too far from the headstone which is an attribute of her liaison with the world of life.”
“Strategy now, Albert, Fernand, help the infantry to face the attack of the undead and Nunu you get ready to activate your explosive magic like before.”
“Siap.”
“Good, Master.”
“Give me, Mr. Helios.”
A wide variety of responses came from them, but they remained united in executing my orders.
With the help of Fernand and Albert in the infantry squad, the number of undead who could break through the fortress was reduced drastically. It showed how great the value of those two soldiers was.
Every now and then, I also shoot large-scale ice at the undead in groups to help reduce the number of undead present.
However, no matter how many times that number was reduced, the new undead would only immediately be summoned back as long as the lich and the connecting tombstone of the world of death were still there.
After a short pause, Nunu's magic was finally ready to be fired.
“Master Helios, the magic is ready.”
“Good, Nunu. Point your shot right at that gravestone. No matter how much the lich moves, he won't be able to move his headstone in an instant.”
“Good, Mr. Helios. Explosion... api!”
Nunu's fireball magic, which was only the size of a soccer ball, began to be fired towards the tombstone. It did not take long for the tombstone to be hit by a fireball that immediately spread out very fiercely forming a large fireball that ravaged the surroundings including the physical body of the lich.
The lich was also destroyed no longer.
I cheered happily, thinking that the situation was over and now all the soldiers had to deal with was the rest of the ordinary undead without any more new undead to be summoned about the tombstone being destroyed.
I also immediately reached for Nunu who was about to faint after using his powerful magic. I thought everything had ended as well as before.
However, I was mistaken.
“Mr Helios!”
Nunu suddenly yelled and pushed me very fast backwards.
Simultaneously, the flash of black light that was originally supposed to hit me was replaced by Nunu who replaced my position on his own will.
“No, how can... How can the banshee curse exist in a place like this?!”
I saw one of the clerics sent from the holy temple shouting about the banshee curse, a curse that no medicine can cure that will eat away at your life little by little until you die.
And that kind of curse that Nunu just received took my place.
“Nunu! What the hell are you doing? Why are you doing such a stupid thing?! Why did you sacrifice yourself for a useless prince like me?!”
In a state of death, Nunu said,
“There will be no citizen in this city of Painfinn who thinks Mr. Helios is a useless prince. It was Mr. Helios who saved me, this girl from a remote place by finding my own worth when I thought that I was a useless person. So, never say that Mr. Helios is useless. Mr. Helios is the coolest person I've ever met.”
The corner of Nunu's mouth began to bleed and his consciousness slowly began to disappear.
However, just as I was about to reassemble my mind to solve this situation, another disaster occurred.
The skulls of the dead undead were sucked into a sinister green core and formed a larger, more disgusting creature.
“No... no! It's a lie, right?! Why does the undead king appear at times like this?!”
I heard the cleric yell once again where he called the monster an undead king, one of the twelve subordinate monsters directly from the demon lord.
If I had previously explained about the color symbols of each lighthouse color, I forgot to mention one last lighthouse color.
That's the color of the black light.
The colors of the lights suggest that the soldiers must be ready to sacrifice their lives to face monsters that will not be defeated except by the presence of heroes while giving time for the townspeople to evacuate in order to save themselves.
“How? How could such a creature have appeared when the hero who was foretold had not yet appeared even a hint of his nose?! Ah, all of us who are in this place will definitely be annihilated.”
Such is the desperate speech of the cleric that adds to the darkness of the situation.
But it doesn't end there.
“”Clash!”
“Fernand!”
I heard Albert yelling and when I observed the situation below, Fernand had been torn apart by the sharp nails of the undead king.
Hugging Nunu tightly, I cried over Fernand's death. No, I must be crying about the fear of facing my own death.
I heard before his death, Fernand shouted something that seemed to be aimed at me,
“Your Highness Prince, His Highness Leon is not what you think.”
So Fernand said on the verge of death that somehow Leon's name appeared there.
Then a moment later, a white light surrounded me and my consciousness slowly disappeared.
Is this what we call death?
