***4 year later***
Four years have passed since that incident. Much has changed. Especially the holy temple which had been misled by Baal, began to retrace the path it was supposed to take, although that in itself was not easy.
All the historical documents on the Continent of Ernoa have been touched by Baal so it is difficult to determine again what is true and what is wrong in it.
That is why with the help of Kanazawa Junoichi Sensei, we compared these historical documents back to our friendly neighboring countries on the Asium Continent, especially Rosea which is known to have many books left over from ancient civilizations, as well as the Indonesians who have many traders with records of their travels even since before the Meglovia Kingdom was established which was passed down from generation to generation.
But more importantly, my son Helion is now 5 years old, while his sister, my beautiful daughter Ruvaliana, is 3 years old. I named my first daughter after the most fragrant flower in the world and matched her to resemble my wife's name, even to the point of making Talia laugh that I was so fond of flowers that I also named my son by the name of flowers.
Not only that, now Talia is also in a state of great pregnancy. While from my concubine, Luciana, I also had a son whom I named Farhaad who is now 2 years old.
I named my third son after an ancient language that meant wisdom, in the hope that my son could become a wise man who could one day be a meaningful support to his brother, Helion, when he ascended as the new emperor.
I was actually more hopeful that in determining the name of our third son, it was, lusiana and I could discuss with each other since I wished that there was a slight impression of Vlonhard in our son's name so that he would not forget his origin.
However, Luciana insisted that I must determine the name of the child without his intervention so that it makes the child have a face to face in the future even though its origin comes from the imperial spoils concubines who have been lose out. Yes of course I married Luciana not in my state of plundering her. It's just a parable.
My own adopted son, Sister Tius of Vierra, Ilyaas, is now 4 years old. Albert's son was also quite large, a 3-year-old whom he and Lilia named Allios.
The Meglovia Empire is now increasingly victorious, especially transportation and distribution problems that have become easier to do since I and Doctor Minerva have implemented the gate project that I used to launch five years ago.
Now to travel from the last tip of the continent to the northern end, it only takes about 30 minutes, it could even be even faster which would only take an instant if done personally like when I used my special right as emperor to travel to any area of the continent. That's quite useful since my mini portable gate use is more limited.
If anything makes me sad, it's Albert.
And here I am, visiting the domain administered by Albert for the monster forest festival.
Since being sent to this place four years ago, Albert seems to have gained his comfort. He who usually did not want to part from me for long, now volunteered to become the ruler of this permanent territory of Tarz City.
“How about Olo, Master? Is he able to replace my role well?”
“Yes, of course. Although not as good as you.”
Since Albert's departure, instead of appointing Damian, I appointed Olo as Albert's successor in command of the first knight army directly under my control. Unlike the clumsy Albert, Olo has a freer personality until he is easier to blend in with his subordinates.
Since the collapse of Baal's rule on the continent, slowly but surely, the problem of racism on the continent has been diminishing. That led to no longer many taking issue with Olo's black skin, red eyes, and white hair that was different from those of the rest of the continent.
But if asked, who I like better between Albert and Olo, obviously the answer is still Albert. However, I find it difficult to get used to Olo's thunderous voice that makes a hanger.
I could see a sad look on Albert's face. That is not surprising since Albert was hit by a very alarming disaster.
“Master Albert, it seems Allios misses her father and wants to be held for a while.”
It was the nanny of Allios who suddenly came to see us with Allios in her hands.
“Papa, Papa.”
Tell the boy cutely.
But what Albert did really made me disbelieve and ride black.
“Hey, what are you doing?! Don't you see that His Majesty the Emperor is in front of us right now?! Quickly get rid of that useless child from before me and educate him properly so as not to get spoiled habits to become a whiny child who can't do anything!”
Isn't Albert's word very outrageous for a child who just turned three years old? I wouldn't mind if Albert took care of his son in front of me. Why did he make me an excuse to scold that cute Allios?
I heard that the education of former Duke Alphonse was harsh and he had educated Albert early on to prepare him to become a knight to support his brother later as a new duke even to the point that Albert lost the affection of a father, but at least Duke Alphonse did it for Albert's education even though I think it's still wrong since he traumatized Albert mentally early on by losing his father figure.
Then from the death of his father at the early age of Albert, the pressure disappeared, but it just caused a very deep empty hole in the young Albert's heart. Not until there, he had to suffer as a slave in the colosium.
Seeing that it happened for the first time right in front of me, I who went up black without a second thought immediately grabbed Albert's head.
“Hey, Fool, what are you doing to your own son, huh?! If I don't receive a satisfactory explanation, prepare to receive a severe punishment from me!”
The sharp look in my eyes looked at Albert and I saw the shrill expression on him. However, an unexpected expression appeared. Albert's eyes glazed over. I can already guess what happened with just that expression.
Albert had subconsciously blamed Allios for what had happened to his wife, Lilia.
I was about to calm Allios down by acting funny in front of her, but what was even there, it triggered her cries after staring at my abyss-sealed eyeballs.
“Hei, you..”.
- Bukk.
I immediately clenched Albert's head back before he said something insignificant that would add to the trauma of Allios's still-young mind.
“Master.”
Because Albert showed a cute kitten-like expression, I could no longer be angry with him. I made peace with him and advised him well.
I also know how painful the wound in the heart is when we watch our loved ones grow weaker. That's how I felt when I saw the father who was lying sick.
“Albert, I know that Lilia suffered from Allios' postpartum pain, but that doesn't mean it's Allios' fault. Allios was born into the world not Allios' fault. Precisely, wouldn't it be with you acting that way to Allios, that Lilia would grow even sadder? Lilia has been trying to give birth to a child from your relationship to this world in exchange for extreme pain. So appreciate the struggle of your wife by also loving your children.”
“I understand, Master. It's just that every time I see Allios, I can't escape imagining Lilia suffering.”
I can see Albert can no longer hold back his tears. I forgot because of his macho looks, Albert is actually this cute guy.
“How about you visit Lilia with Allios in the capital?”
“Lantas how about the monster forest festival here, Master?”
“And there's me who can handle it.”
“Eh? Then will Master not visit again the southern part?”
“Isn't there already Alice? He was more than enough to handle the situation. After this, I will also contact him immediately to explain the situation first. You do not need to care about that trivial thing and then concentrate on the health of your wife first.”
“Thank you, Master.”
Albert's tears were shed. I hugged him to encourage him before he finally went to the gate to go to the capital Megdia to visit his wife.
Nothing has bothered my mind lately other than Albert, precisely on the condition of his wife who is getting worse and worse. Plus when I witnessed for myself how Albert responded to this by treating Allios coldly, I could no longer ignore him. After all, Albert was one of the most meaningful people in my life. Therefore, I want him to really feel that happiness.
That's why I always pray that Lilia's condition can recover soon. I was also with Anna, Erick, and Rasiel all this time unceasingly researching drugs to cure Lilia's disease. Sometimes it is also Doctor Minerva who is more experienced about where to come to help in the process.
It's just that Lilia's illness is quite unique. It is called manaphobia. A situation where the chance of occurrence is only about 5 percent in normal women who do not have mana when marrying and giving birth to a child of a man who has large mana. Because the odds were only 5 percent, no, at that time I did not know the state of Lilia without which circuit from birth, however I supported their marriage.
No, even if I knew about it from the beginning, maybe I would still agree to it because of how domagia saw Albert blushing once he knew he was being proposed by Lilia. After all, the 5 percent chance is so small that it can happen in 1 in 20 possibilities. To really think that until it happens, is truly an astonishing thing.
Manaphobia is caused if the child who is born has a great talent where it can flow through the umbilical cord then poison the uterus of the mother.
It wouldn't be a problem if the mother's body didn't respond to it as a dangerous foreign substance. But the story is different if the condition of the mother is quite sensitive to mana even though it is not born with mana talent in her body.
At first it would have no impact, but as time went on, the mother whose body had never known mana at first, began to feel the foreign presence in his body so that his body also issued unnatural antibodies. These accumulated antibodies slowly weaken the mother's body.
I've been researching things so that this antibody can be neutralized in the mother's body or stop the body's stimulus that responds to the formation of this antibody. It's just that all the ways I have done so far have always failed which makes this manaphobic disease remains an incurable disease until now.
