"It's been a few years. I don't think you recognize your father anymore" Ethan said calmly.
... Dian almost fainted....
He looked at Caleb, then at Ethan. He has a son this age?!
Did he have a son without his knowledge?
"How is it possible? Even if I fail to recognize my own mother, I will never forget my Papa." Caleb quickly bowed before looking at Diane. "And this is…?"
"My name is Diane Palmer."
She was afraid that Caleb would suddenly call her 'Mama', which would be too embarrassing.
"Hello, Miss Palmer." Caleb smiled. He can instantly tell how Diane is related to Ethan. "I'm Caleb, take care of me."
"Why are you still standing there?" he shouted at the people behind him. "Hurry and prepare wine and good food! Now!"
He looked back at Ethan and Diane. "Please get through here!"
They nodded and followed Caleb to the inside of the temple.
This guy really knows how to enjoy life. She had decorated her living room very elegantly.
"Oh, so that's the case," Diane was enlightened after hearing Caleb's explanation. "I almost thought he had a son your age behind me."
"Ha ha!" Caleb laughed out loud. "I lost this bet fair and square, so I'm fine calling him Papa."
The way he looked at Ethan was filled with respect, and he did not hide it.
"I'm not sure why Mr Hunt is in Tokyo this time?"
The last time Ethan came, he made a big fuss in Tokyo. It was as if an earthquake had struck the city, and even after Ethan left, very few people knew exactly what had befallen them.
"I'm here to see you" said Ethan. "I'm afraid if I don't come to see you for too long, you might be dead."
"Thank you for your concern. You saved me last time, so my days after that were already more than the days allotted to me" Caleb sighed as he shook his head. "But I've been in a lot of trouble lately. Lookyourhair! Everything's white!"
He predicted that if this situation continued, the internal conflict within the syndicate would worsen and he would eventually have to choose one side. Regardless of which side he chose, direct conflict was still inevitable.
He was not sure if he would survive this.
Caleb looked at Ethan and did not think that Ethan was really here to see him either.
They are old friends and he owes Ethan his life, but there are too many people who owe Ethan his life and help…
"You're here because of that woman from the Salo family, right?" Caleb poured Ethan a cup of sake. "Are my guesses correct?"
It was clear that many visitors had arrived in Tokyo recently, especially those from those Third World powers.
Although they had hidden their identities and sneaked into Tokyo through various channels, Caleb was in charge of this place, so nothing escaped his sight.
"Mrs. Hunt, I'm afraid I can't help you in this matter" Caleb got straight to the point. "If it were anything else, I would even sacrifice my life for you. But this woman is very important to the Masamune Syndicate, and she is a pawn in the fight between the two factions within the syndicate. I'm not even allowed to go near him."
He's not hiding anything from Ethan, and he's not going to hide it anyway.
He is a member of the Masamune Syndicate, but this is only a job for him.
It was far more valuable than the gratitude he had towards Ethan.
"So, what if I insist on making your life difficult?" Ethan takes the sake and takes a sip. "Are you going to help or not?"
Caleb froze and said nothing.
He poured another cup for Ethan and filled his own cup before lifting it up with both hands and saying respectfully, "You really are my Papa!"
