"Jay, can I ask you something?" ask Aunt Kim.
Jay stopped his activities. The man had previously been busy wiping every table in the noodle shop.
"By, Bi. Just ask" Jay replied.
The doubtful look on Aunt Kim's face. He was also afraid that the answer that would come out of Jay's lips was a lie.
"Why did you go to the pay phone last night?"
Jay jerks. He did not prepare a plan if someone caught him going to a public telephone. Jay thought maybe everyone was asleep when he left. Yeah, he should know that luck doesn't come every day.
"I called my uncle." That answer just escaped Jay's lips. He can't think too long, so just answer.
"Solvent it?"
"I-iya.I just remembered something and had to notify my uncle right then and there."
Aunt Kim raised her eyebrows. "What's that?"
Actually, the middle-aged woman did not intend to want to know all Jay's business. But, he wondered why Jay couldn't postpone it until morning?
"My uncle, called by Won Company." Just keep an eye on Jay's answer.
"Why was he called there?"
"He must testify."
Aunt Kim was silent for a moment. He's fed up with Jay getting long-winded.
"My uncle had to give a testimony that would hopefully benefit the Won Company" Jay continued.
"Your uncle works for Won Company?" ask Aunt Kim.
Jay nodded, confirming it.
"How long has he been working there?"
"Ehmm, not too long ago," Jay replied again.
"I don't think he'll be able to give his testimony. This price monopoly has been around for years. The company is unlikely to win" Aunt Kim said. The woman then turned to head for the kitchen.
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
After returning home, Jay was greeted by Dara at the door. The feeling is not good, not usually Dara waiting for him there.
"Become..."
"Your uncle will testify on Won Company's side?" cecar Dara regardless of the greeting from Jay.
"I-iya," Jay replied in a hesitant tone. The woman in front of him is standing. The expression of that beautiful face was now suddenly cold.
"Why didn't you tell me? Don't you know that I'm trying so hard to solve the case?"
"I'm sorry... I dare not tell you. I just don't want you to misunderstand me" Jay explained.
"It is precisely with your attitude like this that it will even make me suspect you." The woman looked straight at the man who was taller than her. His disappointment can no longer be contained.
"I'll explain everything."
"What else is there to explain?"
"I told you I don't want you to misunderstand me. I'm afraid that you won't trust me anymore" Jay said.
"Looks like you want me to give up on the case." Dara's lips twitched.
"Yes, that's right" Jay said.
"You're on their side???"
Jay took a long breath. He was trying to control the anger that might overflow.
"Do you intend to take the favor back?" sulcan Dara.
Jay now shook his head in astonishment, he no longer knew the way Dara thought.
"I've never charged anything I've given. I just want you to lower your ego, for Noah's sake" Jay replied.
"Your words may melt the heart of any woman. But I'm not stupid, you did it for Won Company."
"Whatever you think!" Jay turned around and intended to leave. But the question that came out of Dara's lips burned her ears again.
"Say you want to leave me!"
Jay stopped his steps, looking back at the woman who started to shed tears.
"You look really angry at me. I can't be in a house with someone who might kill me at any moment" Jay said.
Dara's legs seemed to weaken, the woman almost fainted but Jay was so quick to catch Dara's body that would fall.
"Hiks... Hix... Hicks...." The woman was crying.
Neighbors began to reveal the window curtains. They were curious and peeked inside. Realizing that his quarrel with Dara is being watched, Jay then leads Dara in.
The man clasped Dara's cheek and floated a brief kiss on the lips. He hugged her body and tried to calm her down.
"rest. I'm not leaving" Jay said.
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
Jay is now sitting on the back porch. The two manics were busy looking at the night sky. A flash of his mind floated in light of his conversation with Chris when he was in Seattle.
Flashbacks: flashback:
"What information did you get while in Asia Town?" ask Chris. The middle-aged man was busy filling the green tea powder in each of his cups.
"I discovered that the workers did not get paid according to their crops. It is certain that this is a price monopoly done by certain parties" Jay replied. The man grabbed the teacup that had been brewed with hot water by Chris.
"About which side did that, sir?"
Jay thought. "Maybe the head of the factory in Asia Town?"
"Have you confirmed that?" ask Chris.
"Not yet" Jay replied. The man then sipped the tea made by Chris presented in front of him.
"Do I need to continue your research? This way you can go back home."
"no need. I think I can do it myself."
"You sure?" ask Chris again.
Jay nodded. "Yes. Besides, I don't know why I have a new family. So, it seems I can't leave them."
Chris knitted his brows. Was his conjecture right all along?
"New family? What do you mean?"
"Akhs... Forget."
"Mr Jay." Chris interrupted. "Are you getting interested in Miss Alexandra Meggie?"
End flashback.
"What a strange question." Jay laughs. Of course at that time he denied. But it seems like the heart cannot lie.
"Why am I pounding now?" Jay wonders.
"Or... Couldn't that be true?" muttered Jay.
