Mother is Not a Night Woman

Mother is Not a Night Woman
Cannot Lose Hope

Via's echoing cry made Wira and mother so surprised. They glanced at each other with question mark-filled gazes.

"What's wrong with Via?" ask mother. Not yet Wira said, it has been heard again the next scream.

"Mas Wira ... Lois ...!"

At once the body of Wira felt crimped to hear the cry of his wife. Moreover, he cried while shouting Lyla's name. Suddenly, the man immediately moved Gael who was in his lap to the sofa and ran towards the top floor in a hurry.

And the same surprised mother. He called a Gael nanny, and asked to take care of the little baby. Then immediately, she followed Wira to Lyla's room.

Upon arriving there, Vira is surprised by Via crying while hugging Lyla. Her tears fell, too, when she found blood coming out of the little girl's nostrils, though not so much. But Lyla's deathly pale face had already made her limp. Likewise with the mother who was also hysterical after entering the room.

The hero immediately approached, and grabbed Lyla's body. He hugged his little princess. Sensing Lyla's unusual body temperature, her worries grow. With tears in his eyes, he patted his son's face gently, calling his name softly.

"Lyla Darling ... Lyla can hear me?"

There was not the slightest response from Lyla, making Wira again embrace him.

"What's wrong with Lyla?" tanyanya while peeping the crown of his daughter.

Via rubbed his tears, "I don't know, Mas," Via tried to hold back his tears. "Once I got here Lyla was like this. Mas, let's get Lyla to the hospital!" lirih Via's.

The hero who was still frozen in shock, immediately came to a realization from his fear. He stood up, and with half a run, immediately went out of the room holding Lyla. Likewise with mother and Via who tailed behind him.

"Mom, me and Via are gonna take Lyla to the hospital. I'm staying here with Gael" Wira said before boarding a car, where a driver was ready to deliver them.

"Alright, careful. Hero, Via, don't panic, son. Calm down." The two people nodded, then immediately got into the car.

The sky was overcast that afternoon as if representing the mood of a family. Slowly the raindrops began to wash over the earth.

Via sat in a chair in front of a glass door, with tears visible at the end of his eyes. His gaze was empty, there was no sound, there was no sobs. There is only a heart rhythm that beats faster. So did Shera who sat by his side while holding back tears. He held tightly the hand of Via who had been trembling waiting for their beloved daughter.

While Wira has since walked here and there with a clear look of anxiety. Inside the room the doctors were treating Lyla.

An hour later, a paediatrician who had been treating Lyla appeared out of the room. The hero approached the woman immediately.

"Doctor Irene, how's my son?" ask Wira.

The doctor opened the mask that covered the nose, then let out a long sigh. He glanced at Via afterwards. The woman also looks doubtful, as if she can not bear to explain Lyla's condition.

The hero replied with a nod, while Via glanced at Shera. Lyla's birth mother nodded slowly. "You go there with the hero. I'll just wait here" said Shera patting Via on the back of his hand.

As if trying to strengthen his heart, Via took a deep breath, then stood up to Wira. By embracing each other, they follow the steps of doctors who have walked first.

Shera is still frozen. His cry broke, so Surya immediately leaned on his shoulder.

"Mas, is this my punishment for my past actions?"

"Don't talk like that. Trust me Lyla's gonna be okay."

"I know I was wrong for ever throwing it away. I'm not a good mother. Why am I not the only one being punished? Why was I punished through Lyla?"

Surya wrapped his hand around his wife's body. "God never punishes man, Shera, but only reminds. You already realize your actions are wrong. And that's enough. What's happening now, is part of destiny."

Shera's cry again broke the silence, leading her to endless regret.

"I'm sorry to you guys. Alyra's condition is not so good at the moment. The platelets are greatly decreased below fifty thousand. And this condition is quite alarming" he explained while reading a map containing Lyla's medical records.

Hearing the doctor's explanation, Via closed his eyes. I can no longer hear any further. Now he can only hope that there will be miracles like the previous time, where Lyla was able to get through difficult times.

"Do whatever it takes for my son, Doctor," pinta Wira.

Doctor Irene nodded slowly. "of course. We will do our best for Alyra. For now, blood transfusions must be performed immediately. We have also contacted the blood bank to prepare several bags of blood. If needed, family members can get ready to become donors if needed."

"Okay, Doctor."

Via ventured to raise his head, looking at the doctor. "Doctor, my son has experienced something like this before. This time he'll be fine, right? As before."

Doctor Irene just smiled. He remembered Lyla had several times decreased health, but not as bad as now until platelets decreased and lost consciousness.

"Remain praying. We must not lose hope."

Neither Wira nor Via can speak anymore. Resolve, maybe that's the best. Regarding Lyla's health, they trust the team of doctors completely.

After talking with the doctor, Wira and Via head to the place where Shera and Surya are waiting. Lyla just got transferred into a room. Shera was crying on her husband's shoulder. However, the woman immediately wiped her tears upon seeing the arrival of Via and Wira.

Without a word, Via walked towards the glass window, and stared inside. Seeing Lyla lying weakly with some medical equipment attached to her body was like an incision for Via. He then remembered a story that taught him to be patient.

It is said that the Prophet Job was a servant who had the patience that Allah praised. With all the trials of life that are not easy, He remains patient. Losing all his possessions and his twelve children did not dampen his patience and sincerity in accepting what was destined for him. But why am I so fragile? When I realized that Lyla was just a deposit, why wasn't my heart willing to take it off. Then, am I still worth asking?
