Mother is Not a Night Woman

Mother is Not a Night Woman
Lyla Must Be Strong

Day by day passed. It didn't feel like Lyla had been lying unconscious for three days. Since then, he has been unable to eat and sleep well. He forgot about everything else in his life, so it was as if his world had come to a halt. Although the woman no longer cried, her residence described how devastated she felt.

All she did at all times was sit by Lyla's side, waiting and hoping that her little girl would open her eyes immediately.

Although as a human she still surrendered, but Via is only a mother, who will be sick when her child is helpless.

A gentle pat landed on his shoulder, which made his daydream spread. She looked up her head, looked at her husband's face, and without a word turned back to Lyla.

The hero took a long breath. Pull up a chair and sit on the side of Via. He looked at the face of Via fixedly, who had not removed his eyes from Lyla since. His body that looks weak, his eyes that are sad because of lack of rest, and his empty gaze make Wira feel the sadness of the wife. The finger of Via and grasped it, but there was no response from the woman.

"Via ... I beg you not to be like this," Wira said as she gently rubbed Via's hair.

Without taking her eyes off Lyla, Via replied, "Then what should I do, Mas?" sahut Via with his weak voice as powerless. Then he looked at Wira as if asking for an answer.

The hero still smiled faintly, wanting to strengthen Via through that smile. "Come, let's talk in front for a minute."

"I don't want to leave Lyla, Mas" he said, then looked back at Lyla.

"I beg you, dear. Just sec. Please listen to me. All right, let's just talk here," said Wira persuaded the wife.

The hero helps Via stand up and takes him to the sofa that is in the corner of the room. The man crouched down in front of her, then hugged Via tightly, but Via remained silent without returning the hug. Until a moment passed, Wira let go of the hug. She wore that thin and pale face gently.

"I missed you the old days. You are full of fortitude. You are very gentle but also strong, and you never lose your hope. Honey, I know how you feel right now. You fought for Lyla all this time. And it's not easy" said Wira making Via look at him. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment.

If given all the hard struggle so that Lyla can be cured, Via felt very unfair, because it was one step away, but precisely Lyla's condition became very decreased. Remembering all that, her tears came back.

"Why does it have to be like this, Mom? All this time I've been fighting for Lyla's recovery. I felt the same pain every time he got sick. For years I waited patiently for a miracle to come for my Lyla. But look now, Mom! When Lyla had hope of recovery, why did it have to happen like this? Why?" The long words that Via uttered seemed to depict sorrow, disappointment, and united despair.

"I understand, Via. You're sad and disappointed. But this is not the way. Stay patient and grateful like you I've known all along" he said. "Darling, please go home and rest. You've been like this for three days."

Via took off the hand of the Hero who grasped his hand, then stood up with the rest of the energy he had. "I don't want to leave Lyla even if it's just a few minutes."

Via would step closer to Lyla, but as quickly as lightning the Hero stood up, then clutching both of his arms.

"Take me off, Mom!" lirih Via's.

"Not until you listen to me!" This time the hero snapped unconsciously. "Look at me!" He cupped Via's face afterwards, so that now they looked at each other. "You can't keep going like this. For days you would not eat or sleep. You ignore everything. How about getting sick?"

"I can't afford to lose Lyla."

Via realized, he remembered the little baby he had almost four days neglected.

"Gael ..." she cried. "I don't mean to ignore it. But Lyla ..."

Hearing Via's words, Wira hugged him back. He could understand what his wife was feeling. Any mother in the world would not be able to afford to lose one of her children. "What happened has become destiny. Our job is to pray, and to live it patiently. Didn't you always say, that everything is just a deposit. Lyla is our daughter, but not ours. If God wants to take it, we must be sincere. You understand, right?"

Unable to stem her grief, Via leaned her head against her husband's chest. Find peace there.

"I'm sorry, Mom."

"It's okay, Honey ... Now calm down." The hero took off the hug a few minutes later, then tidied up the child's hair that was around his wife's face, tucking it behind his ear. "Now go home, eat and rest. I'll take care of Lyla." Via nodded slowly, making Wira kiss her forehead.

Afterwards, Via approached Lyla. He sat down by the side of the bed, grabbed the little girl's fingers and kissed her. His hands stretched out, gently caressing that pale face.

"Lyla, Honey ... Mother go home first, yes ... Lyla's here the same as you used to be. Mommy wants to see Dede Gael. Lyla has to be strong, Lyla doesn't want you to be sad, right? Dear Mother Lyla." He kissed the little girl on the forehead, then stood up from his seat.

"I will take you forward" said Wira.

"Yes, Mas. But don't leave Lyla, yeah ... If he wakes up, please tell me, "he asked with a nod of his head by the hero.

With his heavy steps, Via was about to exit the room, but when he arrived at the door, a weak voice called out.

"Mrrt ..."
