Cathleen was seated flanked by her parents. He explained the reason why he decided to divorce when Mr and Mrs Pattinson last saw Cathleen and Gerald's relationship was very close.
Cathleen does not vilify Gerald in the slightest so that her parents do not get angry or blame the man who will soon become her ex-husband. Instead, he told me that everything happened because of his own actions. Trapping, coercion to marry her, until the divorce decision, including the discovery of Chloe.
“All my fault for pushing myself too hard wants to run away from Edbert,”, Cathleen concluded. His head lowered for fear of seeing the response of his parents.
Papa Danzel pulled his daughter's hand to cuddle again. He patted Cathleen on the back to give her strength. “Cath, Edbert curbs and is possessive of you because she loves you. He didn't mean to be evil, just that the fear of losing a loved one again made him that way. All this time Papa knew that Edbert was managing you a lot, but I think it's a form of love. The proof, while being your lover, never took your honor, did not hit you either. Papa didn't like Gerald in the first place, but you insisted on marrying him.”
The hug slowly loosened, Papa Danzel rubbed her daughter's cheeks that felt more penetrating than before. “If parting is best for you, then do it. Papa won't stand in your way and won't blame Gerald because I understand his position.”
Mama Gwen helped give encouragement to her daughter who failed in marriage. Swiping Cathleen's arm lovingly accompanied by a reassuring smile from a mother. “No problem living without a partner, there are still us who are always by your side.”
“And I who remain faithful wait for you to return to me.” Suddenly Edbert's voice sounded in the living room.
Cathleen looks at her ex-boyfriend with her eyes perfectly round. “Ed, did you eavesdrop on our conversation?”
“No, it just so happens that I just came,” replied Edbert as he approached Cathleen. He rubbed the top of his ex-girlfriend's head and did not forget to smile. Trying to take heart again.
Just a swipe, Edbert turned to greet Papa Danzel and Mama Gwen. He was indeed that close to Cathleen's parents. Then sit on the sofa facing the Pattinson family.
“Yes, Papa already thinks of him like a child himself. He needs the affection of parents, even Edbert visits here more often than my children,” explained Papa Danzel.
Cathleen looked at her parents with a face of guilt. Grasping Papa and Mama's hands. “I'm sorry for rarely paying attention to you guys.”
“A good husband won't make a child any further than his parents. But, take it easy, as long as you and your brothers are not here, I take good care of Mr and Mrs Pattinson.” Edbert prides himself on implying that Gerald is a bad son-in-law to the Pattinson family.
Cathleen's two eyeballs were directed at her ex. “Thank you, Ed.”
“No need to thank, I did that because I love this family,” explained Edbert along with his smile that looks sincere.
The waiter suddenly cut the conversation. He lowered his head as an apology for being intrusive. “Nona, there's Mr. Gerald looking for you.”
