I immediately turned my eyes. What are you doing, Yuko? Never do anything strange! Tonight your goal to go with Brother Zen is to see the fireworks festival! Remember that, Yuko!
"Silly girl's. There's something on your lips .." said Brother Zen with a little laugh.
Ahahaha ... It looks like that, huh? I've been thinking things out. Even I had been bad-minded to Zen's brother. I'm sorry brother! It felt so embarrassed and wanted to just disappear from before him. Oh My!
I immediately wiped my lips and hid the shame.
"Come on! In 15 minutes the fireworks festival is about to start." Said Brother Zen immediately got up from his seat.
Brother Zen immediately grabbed my hand and pulled me before I could answer his words earlier. He just smiled a little and looked at me. Then we start walking back.
When we arrive at Shinjuku City Square. It is now 10:50 PM. It's only 10 minutes away that the fireworks festival is about to start.
This square is not as big as I imagined. But there are some visitors as well.
"Let's walk to the middle to see the show!" bring Brother Zen.
"Hhhm ..."
I started to step up to follow him. And he still holds my hand.
"Sister. Uhm, Anu ... Actually I can walk alone .." I said feeling a little awkward.
"No! Brother is afraid you're suddenly gone" he said without looking at me at all.
I'm not a child, Brother Zen ... Time suddenly disappeared and strayed away anyway? Uh, but I was straying when I first came to Tokyo. Yes, I was working on a trip to Tokyo. And I was left behind by my entourage. That's when I met Haku again. A very sweet meeting.
Ah, I miss my Haku ... Has he come home yet? I'd love to call him. The fireworks festival is about to begin.
Uh, it's already started. The fireworks began to glide and adorn the dark night sky. It's beautiful ...
I kept looking at him in amazement. So too with Zen. We were both stunned when we saw the fireworks.
Hanabi is one of the top activities as well as an icon of summer, the Fireworks Festival. Hanabi is usually in the title during the new year. In Japan, hanabi is celebrated in summer.
If only I could see him with Haku too ...
"Sister. Can I call someone?" ask me for permission from Zen.
"Of course .." said with a sweet smile. Then Zen began to look at the fireworks.
I immediately grabbed my phone and I started calling Haku.
Tut ... Tut ... Tut ...
Haku didn't lift it. Has he not come home yet? Or on the street so you don't hear my calls? Or did he come home and fall asleep?
Oh, I don't know where he is right now.
Suddenly my phone rings. And I immediately grabbed and saw the name of the caller. Apparently Haku.
"Hallo ..." I'm excited.
"Yuko, I'm sorry I didn't hear you call me" she said.
I heard a noise from Haku's place. Like the sound of laughter and also the sound of very loud music.
"Oh, Just a minute ..."
After waiting for a while, it finally calmed down a little.
"Yuko ... I'm at a karaoke place. After dinner last night they invited me to come along."
"Oh .." said I who could only say that.
"Have you come home?"
"Yet. The festival had just begun." I looked back at the fireworks in the sky. While Zen's brother is still enjoying hanabi tonight.
"After I'm done, go home soon."
"Yes. When are you going home too? Did you guys have a drink together?" I'm a little worried. It was Anzu who worried me a little.
"Back home soon too. And don't worry. I won't get drunk" he said with a small laugh. All right, enjoy the fireworks first. After I get home I'll call you again."
"Alright .." I said a little uninspired.
"Bye, Honey ..."
"Bye ..."
After ending the call I immediately enjoyed hanabi with brother Zen back.
The night sky so dark and cold has now become very stunning and beautiful. Colorful and very beautiful fireworks have now graced the sky tonight.
Soon the summer will pass. I'll miss summer again. It is time to prepare for autumn.
"The summer is about to pass. It feels a little sad ... Like the warmth will pass leaving us alone .." I said unconsciously.
"The warmth will always be there" said Brother Zen slowly. And he was still staring at the fireworks. "Why are you sad, Yuko? It's time to welcome a beautiful autumn. The leaves of the ginko tree will turn golden. Maple leaves will turn red. And it will also be very beautiful." said Zen brother who still continues to stare at the fireworks in the dark sky.
In autumn, the leaves will change color to reddish, orange, or yellow before they fall.
The process of changing the color of the leaves is given the term koyo, or better known as momiji.Momiji this creates a soothing colorful scenery. Many locations in Japan have incredible views of autumn leaves including Nagano prefecture, Takao mountain in Tokyo, Hachimantai mountain in Tohoku, or any temple and garden location.
It won't be long for these leaves to fall off and winter will come removing them, so momiji is a good thing to visit and watch in Japan in October or November.
"So, not exactly right. Autumn is beautiful too. But I will say goodbye to shaved ice, mi somen and watermelon." I chanted with a little laugh.
Brother Zen glanced at me and let out a small laugh.
"But we can enjoy a dish made from pumpkin, yam, matsutake mushrooms, salmon and Japanese chestnut. The foods are very nutritious that we can enjoy in autumn" he said with a warm smile.
"Hc. Brother's right!" I smiled wide at him.
The end of summer does not mean you have to be sad. But must still be excited to welcome autumn is no less beautiful. In fact there will usually be bazaars for massive discounts on summer clothes.
Ja matte ne summer! We'll meet again next year. I will always look forward to it. Because you're so warm.
I will miss the white clouds that lie across the blue sky, the sound of crickets, the crowds of people wearing yukata, the flutter of uchiwa (the fan of plastic, bamboo and paper commonly worn in summer), and fireworks.
I will also miss the sound of the furin or the wind chimes and the breeze.
