The day Haku and I left for college on the subway.
"What faculty have you decided to choose?" ask Haku on the subway.
"Hhm, I will still choose literature." I replied steadily. "What about you?" I looked at Haku. He looks a little worried. "There's a problem, Haku?"
"I actually prefer art. But my father advised me to choose law school. And I'm still confused which one to choose."
"Ehm, how about you talk to your father again? Negotiate it together first?" my proposal.
"Hhhh.." Haku nodded while looking out the subway window.
"You remember? You used to tell me to always be a good boy. Not recalcitrant. And according to the parents?"
"Hhhh.." Haku nodded slowly. "I'll do the same. Whatever father's decision will be, I'll fulfill his wish."
I smiled at him and held his hand.
"And I will always support whatever your decision is." I said.
"Thank you, Yuko." she stroked my hand and smiled faintly. "I'm lucky to have you."
"No! I'm luckier because you chose me."
We both laughed together.
Sunlight through the subway window. It was very warm this summer.
"I'm. I want to go to the beach." I said suddenly.
"alright. We're going to the beach this weekend."
"Seriously?"
He nodded and smiled very sweetly.
...***...
Today is ospek. And today we still gather with each other's groups like yesterday. But something made Haku moved into my group. What's up, huh? Why was he moved to my group?
He sat across from me. He smiled broadly while looking at me from a distance.
My group will be holding some games today.
And the first game is a game of play stuff.
We sit in a circle, making a circle.
The tool that we will make a spinning material this time is a pen.
Then we sing a national anthem or a funny song and sing it together.
When you start singing, a ballpoint pen is given to one of us and continues to spin until the song is over.
If the song is finished and the ballpoint pen is held by someone, then other participants may ask anything and the recipient of the ballpoint pen is entitled to answer.
This game no one wins and loses, and is a type of exciting-call game.
The first song began to be sung. And the ballpoint pen stopped on one of my friends named Sora. He was sitting right next to me.
Then one of them raised his hand to give Sora a question.
"You think you prefer a handsome guy but a playboy. Or a guy with a mediocre but nice face?" ask him to Sora.
Ah what kind of question is this? There are-there are these guys. Which one will Sora choose? I was curious too.
"For me that level is not so important. The most important thing is the heart. So I will choose the mediocre but good." replied Sora.
Wow, that's a good choice. Sora is so nice and cool. She is so beautiful and sweet. I smiled admiring him.
The second song began to be sung again. And this time the ballpoint paused on a guy. Then a guy who seemed very close to her asked a question.
"When did your first kiss happen?"
"When I was Junior" the guy replied casually.
The third song we sing. And this time the song stopped as Zen's brother held the ballpoint pen.
A girl then raised her hand and gave Brother Zen a question.
"Who is your first love and when is it?"
Again, I was surprised by their question. Why do they ask about things like this?
"It happened a long time ago. Back then, my parents took me on vacation at our distant brother's house. I accidentally met him there, " replied Brother Zen kindly.
Well, that girl is very lucky. Zen looks so friendly and kind.
The fourth song began to be sung. And this time the ballpoint paused on Misha's sister.
"According to big brother, who is the most handsome guy from 2022?" ask a guy.
Sister Misha looked at us all in turn and then said. "I." she looked at Haku with a sweet smile.
The haku that was said so immediately looked down embarrassed.
Wah Haku-ku said handsome same senior. Hih.. It turns out I'm not the only one who admits his good looks. Should she be happy because she's mine? Or have to be in vain because there will be many girls who like it.
The fifth song begins to be sung. And the time the song stopped when I held the ballpoint pen.
Oh My! I hope the question isn't strange.
A man raised his hand. And I asked a question.
"Is there a guy you like here? At least that's close to your dream guy's criteria?" tanyakanya.
Whahuh? I have to answer what try? Should I answer honestly? I glanced towards Haku. He smiled at me and nodded slowly.
"Gee, I.. Ja.. There." I replied a little embarrassed.
"Gee.. Did ya? Who's she?" ask the guy who asked me that question. He was not satisfied with my answer. This time I have to answer what try?!
Everyone looked curiously at me. How'this?
"Ah.. It.. That's.." I said a little nervously.
"May I have 1 question only?" said brother Zen suddenly. "Yuko, you don't have to answer this time." said Zen's brother with a smile.
Ah, Thank goodness. I was so nervous earlier. I stared at Haku, and he was staring at Brother Zen with a flat face.
The next song is sung again. And this time the song stopped as Haku held the ballpoint pen.
The girls scramble to ask Haku something. Finally, Misha chose who was the fastest among them.
"What kind of girl do you think?" ask him to Haku.
"Someone who is plain and sweet. And good at cooking Sapporo donburi and ramen." said Haku, smilingly looking at me from a distance.
I immediately lowered my head, so that my reddened face would not be seen by people.
"Gee.. Why is it Sapporo ramen, Haku?" protest of a girl. "I can make better ramen."
"Because I want Sapporo ramen."
"Well, I'm your ideal type, Haku. I'm good at donburi cooking" said the other girl.
"Why are you fighting over Haku?" protesting a guy. "No less handsome and cool is still a lot."
"Who are you saying no less handsome and cool try?!" ask a girl.
"Me!" said the guy was narcissistic.
"Yes...!!" they cheered the guy.
We all laughed at him.
