My Little Prince's
Ttokyo Daigaku

The University of Tokyo or Taigaku Tokio commonly abbreviated as Todai is a University that has been aged 117 years. It is a leading public research university in Japan and is also the first member of the Seven National Universities. The University of Tokyo has five campuses in Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane, and Nakano and 10 faculties with a total of about 28,000 students of which 2,100 are foreign students (a large number for campus size in Japan).

Although almost all types of academic fields are taught here, the campus is most famous for its law and literature faculty. The University of Tokyo has produced many great Japanese politicians.

The University of Tokyo has a total of 10 faculties with various majors and fields of study respectively. This amount is more than enough to be able to provide options later if we intend to enroll into University of Tokyo students. The interesting thing about studying at the University of Tokyo is that in the first 2 years for undergraduate students will be focused on mastering basic skills that are very important to pursue further studies later. This period is referred to as the Junior Division which will then be followed by the Senior Division which is the last 2 years of undergraduate study where students will further lead to their respective desired specializations.

This is where Haku and I conducted our study. And I've learned desperately to enter this university. Unlike Haku, he was already intelligent from birth. And it was Haku who had been helping me prepare everything. Yeap, she became my private tutor while still at SMU.

I decided to take the faculty of literature (Faculty of Letters), because I really like literature. While Haku plans to take the faculty of art (Faculty of College Of Arts and Sciences) on the campus of Komaba.

Study Orientation and Campus Introduction (Ospek) is a stage of life that is passed by high school transition students to college. The activity aims to introduce the life of the alma mater as well as the academic system to new students. And today is the first day of our ospek.

Universities in Japan also have a positive ospek culture and are far from being cornered. Campus recognition activities focus on building empathy between seniors and juniors. All seniors will be divided into small groups, then accompany the new students while traveling around the campus. They guide new students by providing campus academic system information. Without the strangest snaps or accessories, this is a powerful way to build healthy friendships between juniors and seniors.

Me and Haku are different groups as it turns out. Each group is made up of 25-35 people. And guided by 2 seniors. Today we gather and tour with our respective groups.

Before going around campus. The senior in my group invites us to go to the basketball court first. There we were told to sit in a circle and ask us to introduce ourselves to each other.

"Ohayoo. Before we start our activities today. Brother wants to get acquainted with all kouhai (junior ). But before that big brother will introduce himself first." said our senior. We juniors listened carefully as the senior introduced himself.

"Sister's name is Zen, sister takes 5th semester literature faculty" he said very friendly. "And next to this sister is Misha's sister. He took the art faculty in the 3rd semester" said brother Zen who introduced sister Misha.

"Hallo!" greet brother Misha kindly.

Gee.. His seniors look very friendly. And also beautiful and handsome. I think ospek this time will be so heavy. Tenyata. Lucky me.

"Is there anything to ask?" asked Brother Zen while looking at his juniors.

"Doesn't Misha have a boyfriend yet?" ask a guy.

They were cheering loudly. I just smiled looking at them.

"ahahahahah.. Brother has no girlfriend." said Misha's sister.

"Well, can dong PDKT."that's another guy.

"Yes..!" the other cheer.

"If Zen? " ask a girl.

"Nothing." said Zen's brother with a smile showing the arrangement of his teeth white and neat. "Well now it's your turn to introduce yourself." Brother Zen looked at his junior and suddenly his gaze stopped on me. "Start from you." he pointed at me.

I was really shocked and very nervous. I immediately stood up and advanced to the center of the circle. Well, why get the first order anyway? I stared in turn at them all.

"Ha.. Hello there..! My name is Yuko Matzuo. I come from Hokkaido Minami High School. Greetings and beg for help." I bowed.

"Say what's your hobby?" ask Misha.

"Uhm, my hobby, I like to make novels and draw pictures." I said a little nervous.

"Well then you can enter the faculty of art or literature." said Misha's brother friendly.

"Why are you so far away from school? In Hokkaido are there many good universities?" ask one of them.

"Ehm, that's because I really wanted to study at Todai." actually because of Haku. He wanted to continue his studies at Todai. I want to continue it here too.

"good. We continue the others." said brother Zen kindly. And I'll sit back down soon.

"Hi! I'm Sora." a sweet girl smiled at me and extended her hand.

"I'm Yuko!" I returned his hand with a smile.

After getting to know each other, Zen and Misha take us around the campus to introduce the locations and places on our campus.

Woah.. Tired too today. Osek today is finally over. Haku was waiting for me at the campus park.

"Have you waited a long time?" ask her.

"No really. Where are we going today?" askinya.

"I just arrived in Tokyo this morning, I have to find a contract immediately. You stay with me, Haku!" my door.

Yep.. Just last night I left Sapporo. We arrived in Tokyo early this morning. My things are still in my house, too.

"OK on." said Haku with a sweet smile.

"Come on!" he said while holding me.

Haku and I were looking for a contract around Tokyo University but nothing was empty yet. Everything is full. How'this? It's getting late and I haven't found a place to stay.

I was sitting very lethargic on the park bench. Haku handed me a bottle of cold drink and I took it and drank it.

"How is this, Haku? I should have come a few days early to find a place to stay first. I acted recklessly again!" I said a little desperate.

"Ehm.. Actually there is a place you can live in at this time, Yuko" said Haku.

"Oh yeah? Where's?" many enthusiast.

"In my house." he said. "You can stay there first. Um at least until you find a contract."

"But.."

"It's only temporary. I promise I'll help you turn on the contract tomorrow. And it's also night. You need a break too." Haku looked at me straight. And I also know, Haku looks really tired.

"Ehm. All right." I said at last.
