Surprise Haku

The three of us booked a taxi online and headed straight for the Mizaki family residence. Along the way I kept quiet because I was actually still very nervous.

The taxi continued and stopped right in front of a house. A very familiar home to me. And we're coming down. I helped my Mom and Dad to bring some parcels that I don't know what they are.

Dad immediately rang Haku's doorbell. Not too long to wait, the door was open. Looks like a middle-aged woman smiling broadly at our arrival. His smile looks so warm. It was similar to Haku's smile.

"Gee. How are you doing? It has been a long time since I met the Matzuo family!" greet Haku's mother kindly and warmly and then embrace my mother.

"really so. Haven't seen you in a long time! We're doing just fine. What about you guys?" now my mother took off her arms and still looked at each other with Haku's mother.

"We are good too. Let's go in ..." Haku's mother looked at my father and then looked at me with excitement.

We all enter the house immediately and follow Haku's mother. Inside were Mirae and Haku's father as well. We all sat in the living room together. But where is Haku? I didn't see him from there. Was he on college leave today? I'm a little wobbly still looking for her figure.

"I'm where?" suddenly my father asked Haku where he was.

"He'll be here soon. He was getting ready because he was a little late coming home from the office" Haku's father said kindly.

They were chatting together again. Letting go of each other's longing because it's been long enough not to see each other. If it's not wrong, they haven't met for 4 years.

My family and Haku's have been very close since we lived in Sapporo. Even I have called Haku's parents with the call of Mother and Father since long ago so close.

While they were still chatting, I saw a figure who was going down the stairs and started walking into the room we were all in. Haku came and immediately greeted my parents. Tonight he looks very bright. His face was also very bright and looked very happy.

He was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt but slightly folded up part of his arm. Tonight he also slightly changed his hairstyle by combing it on the back side. Looks so handsome and so charming.

"Mirae has grown up. The last time I met seemed to be still SD .." said my smiling mother looking at Mirae. "What class are you in now, honey?"

"It doesn't feel like time is going so fast .." said my mother with a small laugh. They also laughed together.

They went back to talking with his small talk. While I just listen to it and occasionally laugh with them.

Me and Haku who sit opposite each other sometimes steal each other's eyes. And when our eyes meet each other he always smiles broadly at me.

I suddenly thought about what Haku said this morning. He said tonight had a surprise for me. But what is it? A bounty? A present? Uhm ... But I'm not having a birthday. So what is it?

I kept thinking about it but found none of the answers that satisfied me.

"Ecci ... Look ..." Suddenly Haku's father cleared his throat and was seen starting to speak seriously. I listened to her, but right now Haku and I still make eye contact.

"It's too sudden to say it. It might even be too sudden to make this decision. But I think ... This is best for Haku and Yuko ..."

"Because we are far apart, it is difficult to make a big event, especially this is also very sudden" said Haku's father again. "But I promise at the peak I'll have a proper celebration."

Alright ... This time I will answer correctly. I smiled at him and looked at Haku's father.

"Good, Dad. Yuko is willing .." I said carefully.

"But is it okay if the engagement is just a simple one between families like tonight?" said Haku's father hesitated a little.

"That's no big deal." said my father with a little laugh. With my mother who smiled.

"It's just a temporary fix. When will the wedding be held?" ask my mom to be excited.

"Yuko, Hakus ... Do you mind getting married next year? In the spring? How's it?" asked Haku's father to look at me and Haku in turn.

"I'm up to the decision of Father, Mother, Aunt and Om only .." said Haku so calmly.
