"Finally she can sleep," Grace said, breaking the silence.
Dulce goes back to sleep next to Grace and Damian recites the fairy tale La Belle Et La Bete (Here's the novel, the monggo stopped by. The story is okay, according to the author. Rizky Rahm's). Four times, Damian repeats the tale four times until Dulce finally falls asleep.
"And you better get some sleep, too" Damian moved from his place to the toilet. The man took off his tie and threw it away.
"Are all men like that?"
Damian stopped his steps, turned back to look at Grace. "You said something, Ms. Vasquez?"
"You just threw your tie. Can't you put it neatly and correctly."
"Did my das bother you?"
"Disturb my eyesight."
"You just need to take your eyes off my chest, Ms. Vasquez." Damian continued his steps towards the toilet. He needed to take a bath after the fatigue he had experienced all day. Damian is also the type of man who can't sleep before taking a shower.
After he entered the toilet, the door was knocked. Grenda came in with a paper bag. Grace just looked at him without any intention of greeting.
"Where is my lover?" ask the woman with emphasis on the word lover.
"Toilet" said Grace succinctly.
"Oh." Grenda crossed the room and sat on the sofa. Put down some of the parcels he brought.
Grace smelled the smell of food and immediately her stomach felt hungry and the worms in her stomach also reacted quickly. The mischievous worms compactly let out a protesting sound.
"Ouh, what's that embarrassing voice?" It was obvious that Grenda was mocking him.
"What is shameful? The worms in my stomach were just being honest. My stomach is hungry and they voice it."
"What's that ludicrous answer?" Grenda raised her legs, crossing the two perfectly.
"Helli's legs are still more beautiful." All four of them he compared the woman's legs to her own feet which were very beautiful and level. "As long as no one has beaten Helli's leg, I don't deserve to be jealous yet."
"Why are you grumbling? Are you cursed at me secretly?"
"Why should I curse you and why should I do it secretly? If I want to curse you, I will do it in front of you so you can improve yourself.
Grenda rolled her eyeballs, lazily responding to Grace's speech which she thought was smart-ass. The woman chose to concern herself with her cell phone.
"What are you carrying?"
"Food for Damian. I'm sorry, I forgot you were here, so I didn't buy it." Grenda gave off a shitty smile. How Grenda doesn't know Grace was there while being rushed to the hospital, Grenda takes a ride. Basic reason! The woman had deliberately upset Grace.
"You don't forget that Dulce is here. You bought for him?" Grace did not intend to attack Grenda. Grace said that so that she could eat Dulce's ration because the girl was also sleeping.
"Dulce.. hmm.."
"You didn't buy it?" guess Grace. "Don't tell me you forgot about him? Holy jeez!"
"Dulce's asleep," Grenda reasoned.
"And you didn't know it before you saw it."
"Why do you speak so much!" ketus Grenda with an annoyed mimic.
"That's because I have a mouth. What good is a mouth if it is not to speak."
The bathroom door opened, Damian walked out wearing only his pants. A towel covered her shoulders and her hands were busy drying her hair. The smell of soap filled the room.
Grace had to hold her mouth back not to make a complimentary comment about the man's abdominal muscles. Grace is no hypocrite if Damian is a very admirable widower. And he'd bet Damian Lawrence was the toughest widower he'd ever seen.
"Have you come?" Damian sat next to Grenda.
"Yes, in addition to bringing clothes for you, I brought food." Grenda stared longingly at the man's muscles without feeling reluctant. Uh! Can Grace be envious?
Oh my God, my father and brother's bawdry seems to rub off on me. Erang while gulping his salivary as Grenda's naughty hand rubbed Damian's arm muscles with a seductive gesture.
"Eat."
"Hmm" Damian muttered. "Go home."
Grace almost laughs when she sees Grenda's grim face getting evicted from the man she calls her lover.
"I'll accompany you here to look after Dulce."
"no need. There's no place for you to sleep here. Come tomorrow."
"But..."
"I'm so tired, Grenda. I don't want to argue."
Want to not know Grenda moved reluctantly. Grenda knows that Damian is not an easily persuaded man and that Damian is not a disputable man either. If you want to stay by Damian's side, you have to listen to the man.
"All right, I'm leaving. I hope Dulce gets well soon. I'll have consulted with my beauty doctor. She recommends cosmetics that are safe for teenage girls like Dulce. Dulce really likes cosmetics, I'll take her there once she's cured."
"You are understanding," Damian smiled faintly. He pulled out a t-shirt from the bag Grenda was carrying and immediately put it on.
"Dulce is your daughter. She's a very sweet girl."
Gosh, Grace really wanted to laugh at the falsehood Grenda pointed out and in her eyes Damian was a fool who was easy to fool. He is increasingly convinced that the departure of Dulce's mother has something to do with Damian's attitude that is easily seduced by women.
"Be careful when driving." Damian stood up and led Grenda out of the room.
"Grenda also brought food," Grace pointed towards the canteen on the table.
Damian did not respond. The man walked over to pick up the paper bag and took it to the bed.
"I'm not hungry" Damian put the paper bag on Grace's lap.
"I'm so hungry and I'm gonna enjoy it." Without feeling shy and embarrassed, Grace opened the package. There's fried chicken, potatoes, drinks, too. Grace devoured it quickly. The girl even let out a burp that instantly got a strange look from Damian.
"Sorry," Grace exclaimed in embarrassment.
"Maybe the reason you can't sleep is because of your empty stomach. Clean your mouth." Damian delivers a piece of tissue that Grace receives immediately.
"Maybe you're right. Stomach full of heart was happy, "maybe he gave his fist to Damian. The man nosedived his eyebrows. Staring at the used tissue and finally receiving the trash because Grace did not understand the look of her eyes that raised protests.
"If your heart is happy, I think your eyes can also be invited to compromise. Sleep so I can sleep."
"I'm angry."
"The cooling room is on."
"I'm still angry."
"Good night, Ms. Vasquez. Close your eyes and dream."
Damian twisted his body, returned to the sofa and instantly lay there.
"I can't sleep!"
"That's your problem. Don't bother me."
