That afternoon, around 16:45 Dutch time. A plane landed at Schiphol Airport. The main airport in the Netherlands is located in the south of Amsterdam, precisely in the Haarlemmermeer gemeente.
All passengers and cabin crew were seen getting off the plane. One of those passengers was Kevin. The tall and burly man walked down the airport's main lobby. His face was tired and unfriendly. He had just traveled for about fourteen hours. But he still looks handsome.
"How long does it take to get to the hotel?" ask Kevin.
"About twenty-five minutes, sir," replied the man who was walking by Kevin's side. His name was Hendri. A long-time personal assistant executive at PJ Group, the company now managed by Kevin.
Hendri initially worked for Putra Sanjaya, Kevin's father who was the founder and largest shareholder in the company. But now his boss has retired and replaced by his son. He now works for Kevin. Although he is no longer young, Hendri still looks fit and agile. He was able to keep up with his young boss.
"Are there no hotels near here?" kevin looked impatient.
"There was. But the hotels around here are the type that Mr. Kevin doesn't like. So I chose another hotel whose facilities are more complete and the location is also not too far with the company we will meet tomorrow" said Hendri.
Kevin sighs. Annoyed by that situation. He does not like to stay at a hotel whose facilities are not in accordance with what he wants. But on the other hand he felt very tired and wanted to rest immediately. Although the trip to the hotel only took less than half an hour but it felt so long. Because there is no other choice, he would not want to obey the words of his personal assistant.
"Wait here for a second, sir. I'll find you a taxi" Hendri told his young boss.
Kevin obedient. He stopped stepping. Then dropped his hips on the waiting chair provided by the airport manager. While Hendri was seen approaching the taxi booking counter at the airport.
While waiting, Kevin pulled his phone out of his pocket. Push the power button to turn it on and turn off airplane mode. Some notifications directly enter when the phone is back connected to the surrounding network. He checked them one by one. The first one he checks is an incoming message sent by five different people. One of the senders of the message was Alea, her lover whom she used to call Lily. He immediately tapped on the screen to open the message sent by his lover. Both corners of Kevin's lips were raised upwards. He smiled as he read the message Alea had written.
[Honey]
[What are you doing?]
[Eating?]
[Am I not stupid? Though already know Kevin can not use a cell phone while on the plane. But I keep sending you messages]
[It's only been a few hours since we parted, but I've missed you]
[Don't forget to eat]
[Tell me when I get there]
That was the sound of the message Alea sent in succession. From day to night. The last one was sent an hour ago. Alea also sent her lunch photos as well as some hugging and kissing emoticons. And the last one he sent a selfie of himself while in the office.
Kevin smiled, looking at the photo sent by his girlfriend. "I miss you too, Ly," he murmured.
After looking at the photo. Kevin was typing something there. Sending reply.
[I just arrived at the airport, Ly]
[I eat well. Although the food was not good but I still spent it, according to your orders]
The message has been delivered. But still black tick. Unread. He waited for a while, hoping Alea would read and reply to his message.
Is correct. Not long after Alea read the message. He seemed to be typing something. Kevin waited patiently for her.
[Thank God] Alea replied to Kevin's first message.
[Smart kid] he wrote again on the second line.
Just now Kevin was about to press the phone handle icon to contact Alea, but Hendri came.
"Come, Sir. The taxi is ready" Hendri said.
Kevin also abandoned his intentions. He rushed to the waiting taxi. After getting into the car, he re-typed a message on Alea. Tell him he's on his way to the hotel. Then put the phone back in your pocket.
"Well, sir," said Hendri who sat in the front seat. Next to the taxi driver.
The taxi started moving forward. He left the airport and rushed to the hotel.
The taxi driver took his vehicle at a moderate speed. In accordance with what Hendri ordered.
Hendri did so with the intention that Kevin was more comfortable and his sleep time was not disturbed. Although he himself was not sure the boss was really asleep or just closed his eyes.
Half an hour later, the taxi entered the hotel. Then stop near the main door of the five-star hotel.
Hendri took off his seatbelt. Then get off the car. Walk towards the receptionist to ask for the room key he had booked earlier, online.
After getting it, he again stepped out to pick up his boss who was still asleep in the taxi.
But just getting to the doorway he saw Kevin was walking towards him. With two suitcases in both hands. Hendri immediately ran up to him and asked for the suitcase.
Kevin and Hendri boarded the elevator, heading upstairs where Hendri's two reserved hotel rooms were there. The door opens on the fifth floor. The two rushed out and headed to their respective rooms.
As soon as he entered the room, Kevin headed straight to the bathroom to clean himself up.
Finished dressing Kevin lay his body on that king size Size mattress. He grabbed his cell phone lying on the nightstand. Then contact Alea.
"Is he asleep?" he murmured when the call did not go up. The first and second droughts are not lifted. Until finally after the third ring finally connected. But he was surprised because the one who picked up the phone was not Alea. Except for someone else who doesn't know who he is. That must be the voice of a man.
"Who are you?" Kevin said in interrogation. He immediately woke up. Then sit on the edge of the bed.
"Why ask me? You called me, you should know who you're calling" said the man across the street in a raucous voice.
"Where's Lily, give her that phone?"
"Lilly? Who's Lily? There's no Lily here, it looks like you're on the wrong side, bro" the man said.
Kevin is confused. Could it be wrong? He went back to check his phone screen. Checking if he was wrong? But when he noticed again there was nothing wrong. The one he called was indeed Alea. Why would someone answer a man. He began to suspect. Could her boyfriend be cheating?
"Where's Alea?" kevin said after a moment of silence.
"You know Alea? She's right next to me, why?"
Kevin's face looked red. His chest felt rumbling. "Give him that phone, I want to talk to him" Kevin said.
"Sorry, he's sleeping. I couldn't bear to wake her up, she seemed exhausted."
Kevin disconnected the phone. His mind has gone everywhere. He squeezed his phone and slammed it on the floor. He ruffled his hair. Then groan. Angry, disappointed and sad. Everything mixed into one. "Why did you betray me, Ly," he murmured.
Meanwhile, in a different place. Alan looks grumbling. He was upset that the stranger called him in the middle of the night and interrupted his sleep. With his eyes closed he put Alea's phone back on the nightstand.
Yeah, the one who picked up the call was Alan. The man thought the one ringing was his phone. He even answered Kevin's question with his eyes closed and in a semi-conscious state. He resumed his sleep. Cowering under the same blanket as Alea.
