I woke up feeling pain in my wrist. I don't know what time it is, I don't know. But judging from the dark and silent atmosphere, it seemed like it was past midnight. As much as possible I reduce the movement in my hand so as not to get sicker. So all I did was just keep lying in bed. Every now and then I turned to the side, watching the glass wall covered in creamy curtains dangling down to the floor.
"Why wake? It's still midnight" said a familiar-sounding person in my ear. His voice is a little hoarse. Probably because he had just woken up from his sleep.
I turned, looking at him who knew already by my side. A few minutes ago I saw him curled up on the couch. His face seemed to glow even though at that time the room was quite dark. The only illumination came from a small sleeping lamp on the table, near the bed.
"What about you? Why are you awake too?" my many.
Alan pulled out a chair, put it on the side of the bed and dropped his body there. He took my unharmed right hand. Swiping the back of his palm for a while, after which grasped it. I felt warm as our palms intertwined.
"How can I sleep when you keep moving restlessly. What was? Are you feeling any pain?" He looked at me with a worried face.
I nodded slowly. "A little bit" I said admitting.
"Wait a minute, I'll call the doctor first."
I pulled his hand as he stood up and was ready to step. He looked back at me with a frowning forehead. His expression seemed to ask, what is it? Why arrest me?
"I'm fine, Al. No need to call a doctor." Yes, even though it hurts but can still be held. I don't want to trouble the doctor or the nurse on guard. They also need rest. So while I can hold it, there's no need to call them.
"All right." Alan sat back in his chair. The frown on his forehead faded a little.
"Do you need anything? Or want to go to the toilet?" Again he said in a very soft voice. His long, slender fingers stretched out, rubbing his forehead and wagging a few strands of hair that covered my face.
I'm shaking. "I don't need anything."
"Then go to sleep" he commanded. One of his right hands still holds my hand. While one of his other hands started to caress my head. Dunking his fingers in between my hair and playing them over and over again.
For a moment we both fell silent. I was overwhelmed by her touch that felt comfortable and pleasant. Makes me a little sleepy.
"Al ..," I said, breaking the silence.
"Hm," he said. Alan looked back at my face. The frown on his forehead had already disappeared completely along with his anxious expression.
"Can I go home tomorrow? I don't like this place."
The corner of his lips lifted up. The smile on his face made him look even more handsome. "Anybody like this place, hm?"
"Didn't you like it? Since yesterday you've been going nowhere. You even bathe and sleep in this place." Yeah, I think he likes it so much that he doesn't want to get out of here for a second.
I could only cluck at her flutter.
"By the way can we move to a smaller room? this place doesn't suit me." I looked around. Meeting room with a dividing wall, a large dining table, as well as a long gray sofa. This place is so overrated, I don't need it. Besides, there's only Alan looking after me, there's no one else to see me. So a place this big is not at all suitable for me. Especially the price of the rent. Yes, the cost of hospitalization in a room as large and luxurious as this is certainly not cheap.
"What doesn't fit? Isn't this place very comfortable?"
Is correct. Living in this place is very comfortable. But considering the high cost makes me uncomfortable. I have no job now, no income at all. So as much as possible should be frugal. "You know, I'm unemployed now. My savings are not much."
"You take it easy, Ale-Ale. Don't care about the cost, just leave it to me" he said, patting his chest.
I looked at him doubtfully. Can I believe it, I'm not sure what he said.
"Hey, what's with your expression? you seem to doubt me."
Is correct. I doubt you. Didn't think this Cecunguk is smart enough to read the look of people's faces.
"You don't have to worry, I know the owner of this hospital" he added with confidence.
"Stop boasting, Al," I said with a mocking laugh. Then turn your face.
"Who's bragging? I'm serious, Alea, believe me, I do know the owner."
I let out a breath. Instead of continuing to argue with him I better give up and pretend to believe it. "All right, you know him. Now go back to your place and sleep, I'm sleepy" I said, closing my eyes.
His chair creaked as he got up to his feet. Before leaving he kissed my forehead. Of course I was very surprised. But I dare not open my eyes.
"Good sleep, Alea," he said softly. After that, step away. Back to the couch.
I'm still frozen. For a moment I felt dazed. I don't know why my heart beats so fast.
