"Where are we going, Al?" I asked when we were in the car and on our way. Alan mentioned the main house before, but I still don't know whose house it was.
"To town M, to see my family," replied Alan who was sitting in the backseat, next to me.
I looked away, looking out the window with my heart racing. My palms are soaked in sweat. I started to get nervous and panic. Questions ran through my mind. What is his family like? Will they like me? What if they don't give their blessing?
"What's wrong?" ask Alan. He grabbed my palm and squeezed it.
I turned back to him and smiled. "There's nothing."
"If there's nothing, then why are you daydreaming, hm?" His long, slender fingers were stretched out, caressing my cheeks. He pulled me closer, took me into his arms. "Say, what are you thinking?"
I leaned against his chest. My gaze was straight ahead, staring at Arman who was focusing on driving. The man's expression remained the same as usual, flat, emotionless. Indifferent as if there was no one else behind him.
"I was wondering, what is your family like?" i said, then.
Alan wrapped both his hands around my stomach as he replied. "Nothing special. They are just like us, both humans who like to eat rice" Alan said.
I looked up to see his face. He smiled at me. "I'm serious, Al."
"I'm serious too." His long, slender fingers stretched out, stroking my face. Remove strands of stray hair and tuck them behind the ears. "Listen, whatever my grandfather will say, just ignore it. You just need to listen and obey my orders, got it?!"
Hearing her words like that, I think I understand. Our relationship will probably have a bit of trouble ahead. It must not be easy to get the blessing of his family, given our too-deformed social status.
Alan and his family are so tall. Rich and powerful. They may be able to resurrect or destroy a company just overnight. While I... I'm just a normal woman who was born an orphan. I have nothing but a bad reputation. Yeah, that actor's seal will stick to me for life. I looked down sorrowfully, lamenting the harsh reality.
"What do I do, Al, to get your family to like me?"
"Nothing" he said without hesitation. "You don't have to do anything. Act as usual, like the Alea I know. Never turn yourself into someone else just to be liked by others."
I raised my eyes again, looking at him. "Why? Shouldn't I be sweet to please your family while taking their hearts? that way they might be able to accept me."
"That's exhausting. You won't be happy if you continue to live in such a pretense. Besides you're under no obligation to please everyone. You just need to make me and yourself happy."
"But I'm chatty, fierce and stubborn. Your family must hate and not accept a dissident daughter-in-law like me." I deliberately quoted the words Alan mentioned during a press conference a few hours ago.
Alan chuckles. "Do you admit it now?" he said with a mocking smile.
I'm shaking. "No. I don't think I'm that bad." I'm a little stubborn. But if it's fierce and chatty... I don't act that way to anyone else, just to Alan. Because he sucks. That sneak won't stop being naughty if I don't snap at him or remind him so many times.
Alan agreed. "really. You're better than any other woman out there."
Hey, why are you comparing me to other women?
I'm just like any other woman in general. I don't like to be compared.
Alan tightened his embrace. He slightly bowed as he landed his head on my head, making our cheeks touch each other. "Just relax, Alea. It doesn't matter if my family likes you or not. I'll stay with you, no matter what."
"Of course."
I let go of his embrace, then shifted my hips to the side and changed my sitting position facing towards him. "What if your family were against our relationship and they told you to leave me, what would you do?"
"Don't I tell you that I'll be with you no matter what?" Alan pinched my chin with anxiety. "I'd rather oppose my family than have to part with you, Alea. Are you happy?"
Through the look in his eyes, I could see and feel how serious he was when he said that. "Thank you for choosing me without hesitation, Al, I'm so happy. But I'm not happy if you're against your family. I don't want you to be a bad boy."
Alan smiled. "I know, Alea," she said, caressing my head. "I have an idea and I'm sure it will work. My grandfather must have immediately blessed and married us immediately."
I couldn't help but smile when I found that glimmer of hope. "Had you? What'sthat?" my, enthusiastic.
"I'll tell Grandpa that I've impregnated you. You just need to add a few words and also a little acting to convince her."
"What!" That crazy idea?
"You gotta be kidding me, right, Al?" my friend, wanted to make sure. Maybe I heard it wrong.
"I'm serious, Alea. I'm gonna ask grandpa to get us both married before your belly gets bigger."
I laughed loudly while staring in any direction. I still can't believe Alan has such a ridiculous idea.
"Don't tell me you're going to tell your grandfather that my gestational age is now three months old" I said, turning to him again.
Alan looked surprised. "How did you know? Are you a psychic?"
Oh, my God, he's really...
"Forget over! I don't want to do it" I firmly refused.
"Why?"
"I don't want to start a new relationship based on a lie, Al. It will mar our marriage. Besides, what if it gets caught? your family will hate me even more because I lied to her."
"Then let's just do it, Alea. That way we don't have to lie to him."
I looked at him confused. "You mean?"
"Come to the hotel and make a child there. I can do it many times so you can get pregnant fast."
I was again dumbfounded by his blunt remarks.
"Or, would you rather do it in the car? we can pull over and tell Arman to come out so as not to disturb," he said even crazier.
This time it was not just me who was surprised. Arman sitting in the front seat was as surprised as I was. His narrowed eyes framed by the glasses were wide-eyed. He was so shocked that he slipped his hand and lost control. The car we were riding on turned right and almost hit another vehicle if it did not immediately hit the brakes. Alan and I, who were sitting in the back and not wearing seat belts, collided with each other before finally hitting the front seat due to a sudden stop.
