Mia stared hard at Adriano. He put down the tote bag that was still being held since earlier. "Where is Ricci's treatment room?" ask without removing the spotlight full of anger that was held to the husband. Francesca could no longer stand up. However, the girl still tried to straighten her body and immediately followed Adriano's steps towards the ICU room.
Francesca stood glued from outside the glass-lined door. Inside, he saw the lover lying with various medical devices on his body. Tears were dripping more and more, wet the beautiful face of the girl who works as a model.
"Ricci has undergone a series of major surgeries. However, until now he has not been awake, so he must get intensive care" Adriano said regretfully.
"Why did he get to be like this?" Francesca who had just cried, finally made a sound as well. The question sounded so soft, slid off her lips that were soaked by tears.
"He had a very severe gunshot wound. I'm sorry ...." Adriano continued his words, immediately Mia pulled the man's hand and led him away from Francesca and Pierre. Mia even continued to lead Adriano out of the hospital building. He had just stopped in the courtyard next to the five-story building that was surrounded by pine trees.
Adriano was already guessing what Mia was going to tell him. Moreover, he saw the body language of the wife who seemed to have been holding back the anger since earlier. "Mia, honey," the blue-eyed man intended to grab his wife's hand. However, Mia immediately cleared. The beautiful brown-haired woman actually folded her hands on her chest with body language that looks increasingly hostile. "Please, Mia," he said.
"Explain to me what all this means, Adriano!" mia's tone was not as gentle as usual. "You're saying if this is just a business trip, then why would Ricci get hurt even in such a critical state?" mia's voice was slightly raised from being too angry.
"I'm sorry. I admit that I lied. I just don't want to make you anxious and let you let me go" Adriano said. He brought up the reason, even though he was sure that Mia would not want to hear it all.
"So this isn't a business trip?" the look in Mia's eyes looked so sharp, accompanied by her increasingly thin tone of speech.
"No," Adriano replied straightforwardly.
"Oh my God, Adriano! What else do you want? I have to tell you how many thousands of times I've given up Matteo's departure, why don't you understand!" sergeant Mia.
"Because I've gone too far, Mia. I can't just stop. If I said retreat now, then they would still not let me live in peace. So, before they hunt me, then I must first finish everything down to the roots" explained Adriano firmly.
"Look at what's happening now. You've dragged others to death!" Mia remained with her anger.
"I've forbidden Ricci to come, but he still insisted" Adriano said. As much as possible the man still tried to explain calmly and not ignited emotions. "Again, Ricci is in a state of turmoil. He was so disappointed in your brother" Adriano said.
"Don't switch the subject!" sergeant Mia again. "If Ricci wasn't hurt, then who was? You you?" mia's eyes were sharp, now softened. "If you're the one who's hurt like Ricci is right now, can you think about how I feel? How sad is Miabella for seeing her father fighting death?"
"Mia .. I ...."
"After a long time I've been able to reimagine my broken life, Adriano. You know how screwed I was about losing Matteo. Then you came and became a medicine. Can you imagine what would happen if I had to lose it again?"
Adriano fell silent with a gaze that kept on pointing at Mia. He knew that the woman was worried about him. All of Mia's anger wasn't without an unclear reason. However, his determination was already unanimous to finish what he had started. Adriano had to go back to brainwashing, thinking of ways that everything could be resolved without risking his life.
"What should I tell you, because you won't understand it. It's not just about revenge for Matteo's death, it's about reputation and power" Adriano tries to get Mia to understand.
"Reputation? Power? What else do you need, Adriano? You already have everything!" refute Mia firmly.
"I told you you wouldn't understand it, Mia," Adriano said.
"Yes, my understanding is indeed too shallow that I cannot understand your way of thinking!" Mia pushed Adriano's body standing before her, so the man moved back and slightly away. Immediately, the mother-of-one stepped away leaving the husband who could only take a deep breath at his wife's attitude.
Adriano then stood up while leaning against a tree. His gaze looked up, staring at the beautiful landscape of part of Zlatibor city. In the confusion of his thoughts, his memory is suddenly drawn to detective Ignazio Ranieri. Immediately, the blue-eyed man reached into the phone from inside his pants pocket.
It doesn't take long until the call is connected. "Pronto," came the answer from across there.
"Detective, how are you? It's Adriano D'Angelo" said Adriano slowly. He made small talk first to the man he had been working with for quite some time.
"My news is very good, Mr. D'Angelo. Hows it? Is there any progress?" ask detective Ignazio.
"Do you have any contacts who work in the Serbian police department?" ask Adriano again.
"No. Why why?"
"I am currently in Serbia, in the city of Zlatibor. Ricci and I found something that will definitely interest you, ", Adriano said with a still looking look.
"What's that?" ask Detective Ignazio again.
"Come here and see for yourself. Besides, I also suspect one thing," Adriano was silent for a moment as he took a deep breath. "Do you remember Lionel, the man who shot Marcus Bolt dead?"
"Oh, who managed to escape during a raid while in England. What's wrong with that guy?" ask Detective Ignazio again
"Yes, you're right. Lionel works for Nenad Ljudevit. Nenad was a very influential gun dealer in the United States. I'm sure if he would know a lot about which circles and groups are involved in the same things as him. If you're willing to investigate this, it's possible that one of them is responsible for the death of detective Ranieri, your father," Adriano said. "Come to the Zlatibor region. After that continue the journey to the Black Tower which is in the city of the dead," he explained.
"Nenad Ljudevit? Alright. I'll be there soon. Thank you for the information, Mr. D'Angelo," said detective Ignazio before ending his conversation with Adriano.
After contacting detective Ignazio Ranieri, Adriano then continued his call to another, namely Don Vargas.
