Juan Pablo laughed sinisterly before pointing the gun at the hologram screen. A moment later, his eyes narrowed, but looked extremely sharp. “Rest first, Old Man. Let me continue the pending work,” he said as he slid a bullet on a projector camera attached to the ceiling of the tunnel. The image of the old man in the hologram disappeared. Juan Pablo then continued on his way, until he arrived at an iron gate that was much thicker and also darker than the previous gate.
The Mexican man tried to open the barrier door, by shooting the panel button on the side of the gate. However, it turns out that this method does not produce results. Not wanting to give up, he opened the panel button that was covered by glass earlier. For a while, Juan Pablo observed the numbers that were there and tried to enter the password. But all the efforts he made always failed. Juan Pablo who initially leaned forward, now straightened his body while ruffling his hair. “Sial!” the man grumbled with emotion. He then hit the button full of numbers in front of him as tightly as possible.
Unexpectedly, the hologram screen that had disappeared earlier, slowly reappeared on the surface of the closed gate. “This password is actually very easy. You only need to press nine times the number six,” said the old man whose face was re-formed through a hologram.
Juan Pablo was silent for a moment while looking at the old man. “What are you doing to help me with?” ask her with a cynical tone.
“Of course for everything to finish quickly,” replied the old man before disappearing again.
Juan Pablo was stuck for a moment, before he finally used the cipher that the old man had mentioned. The iron gate slowly opened. There was a large, quiet room behind it. The room was filled with a neatly arranged work desk, forming a semicircle and surrounding a large monitor screen in the middle of the room.
There, there is a computer unit that is on each table and all of them are on. “Are they in a hurry to leave this place?” juan Pablo thought suspiciously while being vigilant. He also had time to refill two pistols in his grip that almost ran out of bullets.
Juan Pablo then stepped slowly while surrounding the room. His eagle eyes observed one by one the table which was like it had just been left by its owner. That's when Juan Pablo's instincts worked. With a quick movement, he looked up and spread out his arms, then shot them up. The tall body was spinning, as if dancing. A barrage of bullets shot from the muzzle of Juan Pablo's pistol flew, then lodged in bodies hiding behind a thin white wall. In the end, the bodies collapsed on the thin wall and lay on the floor simultaneously.
Juan Pablo again counted the entire figure dressed in lifeless soldiers. “There are fourteen,” his murmur. “Total there are forty people,” Juan Pablo rubbed his chin using the back of his hand.
“Where are ten more?” hiss with a sharp look. He then walked towards the winding staircase that was on the side of the room. But when he got upstairs, Juan Pablo found no one. There is only a table that is commonly used for oval-shaped meetings. The table was empty too. The man then sat on one of the chairs while propping up his chin. He seemed to think for a while.
The foster son of Don Vargas then remembered one thing. He looked at the middle of the glass-lined table. He stood up half-bending. The man observed one symbol with the image of the eye of Lord Ra. The symbol was exactly like the image on the boulder in the valley before he entered the base.
Juan Pablo then pointed the gun and fired it at the symbol. What he did, had made the entire room go pitch-black. Juan Pablo immediately felt the backpack that had been on his back. He took out his infrared glasses and put them on. With that thing, Juan Pablo won't have any trouble even if there's no lighting around him.
The cold-faced man continued his journey. Through the glasses he used earlier, he can see a red shadow that indicates the presence of someone or something that emits body heat. Without thinking, Juan Pablo immediately shot the figure. There was a thud in his ear.
Shortly after, the lights came back on. Juan Pablo took off the glasses and slipped a gun around his waist. He saw a body near his feet. The body was wearing a black suit and was holding something in his hand. Calmly, Juan Pablo grabbed something shaped like a remote.
He watched the little thing for a while. Juan Pablo then pressed the button on the object. Suddenly, the floor on which he stood moved and also opened. Just behind the floor, you can see the stairs leading down. Before deciding to go down, he grabbed a gun behind his waist and bended it again while walking down the steps one by one silently.
Juan Pablo sharpened his hearing. He put his ears close to every door. At the last door, the Mexican man stopped. With his body upright, Juan Pablo faced straight towards the door and kicked it with all his might, with both hands outstretched. As he walked into the room, Juan Pablo fired his gun at everyone in the room.
The look on his face was so flat, when he managed to finish off everyone inside the secret room. At the end of the room which is also the meeting place, there is a large display rack. In the top column of the shelf, Juan Pablo saw a safe made of thick glass and clear, so he could see clearly what was inside the safe.
“El Tio,” was furious when he saw Don Vargas's head cut into a formalin solution. His jaw tightens until his neck muscles stick out to the surface of the skin.
“Last-lately Lionel has been out of control,” said someone from behind Juan Pablo. The Mexican man immediately turned around and saw an old figure who was no longer on the hologram screen. He stood straight in front of Juan Pablo for real.
“Where is that bastard?” juan Pablo asked in a very cold and flat tone. His voice trembled as it held a huge emotion.
“He is still in Italy, to complete the task given by Nenad Ljudevit,” replied the old man while sitting in one of the chairs. “I really didn't think you were a Jungle Eagle, son,”.
“Who has managed to dismantle my real identity?” Juan Pablo asked again with the same attitude as before, even though he had not changed position at all.
"Who else if not Lionel. He accidentally revealed your true identity" the old man replied looking straight at Juan Pablo.
"It all started when Lionel intended to peel off Don Vargas' fingerprints, in order to find the whereabouts of his right hand that was none other than you. However, in the end of that one fingerprint all the veils were revealed,” obviously the old man was at length with his speech style that looked very calm. He did not look afraid at all, despite knowing that Juan Pablo would not leave him.
“I've always wanted to ask you questions like this, son. Why did you leave the organization and instead serve Don Vargas?” a question that implied a disappointment, was thrown by the old man towards Juan Pablo.
“Because el tio is my father's partner. I have to protect her for their friendship. After all, el tio is also the one who has guided me, so that it can be more mature as it is now,” explained Juan Pablo. Slowly, he raised the gun then pointed it straight at the old man. “Sorry Tio Pedro, I have to destroy this headquarters and its entire contents.” Juan Pablo's voice again sounded trembling as he said that.
“It's okay, Son. Do it,” the old man closed his eyes. "Again, I am ninety-three years old. I have lived in the world for too long. Time for me to rest,” said the old man softly. He had resigned himself to accept his death. “One thing you should know. I feel proud to have guided you during my time in this organization. You, sad little boy. You're the best,” the old man named Pedro stretched out his arms and looked up.
Without realizing it, Juan Pablo seemed to shed tears. But immediately he rubbed it. The man refocused on pulling the trigger and shot Pedro in the left chest. In a split second, the old man's head drooped weakly on the meeting table with his lifeless body.
