You're Not a Figurant

You're Not a Figurant
[POV Alex] Ch 3 - Try the Best Method

I approached my family. As soon as she saw me, Diana and mama ran straight towards me. Various questions they ask. I looked at those hopeful faces. It's really hard to tell the truth. In the end I chose to hide the truth.

"Operation succeeded. She'll be fine." Those words are all that came out of my lips. Cries broke out again filled the room. Diana and mama hugged, expressing relief. I cannot see their happiness. Guilt enveloped my heart. I hope a miracle will happen. Aaron can come back to us, without lacking anything someday.

Two days had passed, but Aaron was unconscious. It should be that the anesthetic effect should be gone after a few hours, but in reality it is not. It seems true doctor Arya's guess, Aaron experienced a phase of the vegatative.

Diana and Mama began to wonder. Anxious faces came back to them. I still lie to them. Saying words of comfort that Aaron is fine.

I went to Arya's doctor and asked her how she was. Unbeknownst to my family, we began a thorough examination to confirm Aaron's condition.

Several specialists were brought in to test Aaron's level of consciousness. The neurologist began to examine his condition closely. Perform tests on some parts of his body. And the result is nil. His body did not react at all.

The doctor looked at Doctor Arya while shaking his head. Doctor Arya's face looked clouded. I can already guess what Dr. Arya will say next.

I leaned against the wall, supporting my body so that it would not collapse. This fact got me hit. Doctor Arya approached and patted my shoulder as consolation. But no action was enough to keep me entertained.

I stared at Aaron's body which seemed to be filled with medical equipment. The handsome, dashing and playboy man was no more. Ventilator and food hoses are connected in the nose, infusion hoses are connected in the arms, while catheters are connected in other parts of his body. The bedside monitor accurately monitors heart rate, oxygen content and blood pressure. While his head was on the bandage as a whole, covering his cranium that had been in operation. His face looked extremely pale, as if there was no life in him.

My eyes are back to watering. Didn't expect my brother to have this fate. I can't imagine how my family's reaction would have been to know the real situation.

I came out of the ICU and decided to tell Papa. Papa is the only one who has stable emotions over the others. I can't keep lying to him.

I looked for the right time and told everyone. Papa looks very shocked, but can control his emotions. His body was hollow, but he mastered it. We sat together, braced each other and looked for the best solution. In the end we went to Arya's doctor, asked and asked for advice to follow up on Aaron's condition.

"Actually for a patient in a vegetative state, there is no definite medical action that will make the patient wake up from a long sleep. However, there are some doctors who conduct experiments and the success rate is below 1%. I think it's better, than nothing." Dr. Arya explained.

"How do you mean Doc? Will my brother be made into a guinea pig?!"

"Relax Mr. Alex, that's not what I meant. According to the medical journal I read, there are several doctors at the University of California Hospital who apply this method to coma patients. Not everything works, but there is one patient who can wake up. This method you can try, rather than letting your brother fall asleep without certainty when to wake up."

I digest the words of Doctor Arya. I think this is worth a try. True said Aryan doctor, although the success rate is below 1%, at least there have been patients who managed to wake up. I mustn't waste this opportunity. Whatever I do as long as Aaron can come back to his senses.

I looked at Papa, asking for certainty. Papa nodded his head, as if understanding an unspoken question.

"Give Us a referral to that RS. We'll move it soon." I said. Doctor Arya nodded her head, seeming to agree with my decision.

A few days later, the procedure for Aaron's transfer to one of the hospitals in California was completed. I knew this would take a long time. I started to take my responsibilities off one by one. I contacted the director of the bank where I was working temporarily, expressing my apology for not being able to do my role as Group Head for a while. The director gave me permission with an infinite amount of time.

I also called the leaders of my subsidiary. Tell them to handle every company problem. Only in the most urgent circumstances can they contact me.

Right now I just want to focus on Aaron's healing process. I'm putting aside something else. Right now I am just a younger brother of Yuan Aaron Seanan, who is so eager to see his brother recover as ever.

I also put aside my feelings as a man who loves a woman.

Khansa, patience. I'll definitely come for you.

Aaron's transfer process went well. The hospital in California welcomed us well. The medical team moved quickly, and immediately examined Aaron's condition carefully.

The diagnosis of the National Hospital Hospital is the same as the University of California Hospital. They form a medical team to wake Aaron up from a coma.

The procedure is called ultrasound pioneer technique. Its function is to stimulate brain tissue. This technique is done by implanting electrodes in a part of the brain called the thalamus, because that part serves to process awareness and movement.

Although procedurally I do not understand it, but broadly speaking I understand the purpose and purpose of the technique. We're handing Aaron's handling to the experts.

A medical team consisting of several doctors began to perform the procedure. They put the device on Aaron's side of the head for ten minutes. Then stop for a moment to see his reaction. However, there was no reaction. Aaron's nervous system and his system did not react.

Doctors tried the method again several times, but there was no result. Aaron's body remained unreacted. Each specialist back to check the condition of Aaron's body, but there is no significant development.

The doctor came out of the room, looked at me while shaking his head. I closed my eyes. A feeling of despair approached me. The two women screamed, cried and were unconscious.

What do I have to do with Aaron?!!
