[POV AUTHOR] Ch 43 - Knowing Reality

"Darling, sweetheart... Why you, honey? Wake up baby..." Alex's face looks nervous. He held Khansa's body in his arms. While his hand stroked Khansa's cheeks, trying to make the woman wake up.

"What is this really about? She why? Why fainted?" Alex's voice was trembling. He began to panic, but tried to remain calm. Alex looked at his family, to ask for answers.

"Let your wife on the couch first Al. Let's not all gather like this. Make room for oxygen to come in" said Aaron trying to calm his sister.

Alex's face was about to cry, but he followed Aaron's advice. He lifted Khansa's body and took her to a nearby sofa.

"W-what's this? Why is it so wet?" Alex asked puzzledly while staring at his wet arm. His eyes were trying to find the source of what he thought was strange. His gaze stopped at Khansa's feet. There was a stream of clear liquid seeping from Khansa's feet.

Alex felt his head turn. Being too shocked, his body jumped backwards.

"W-what?! D-he why?! Why is there water coming out of his body?! Why him?!!" Alex approached Khansa again and grabbed her body. He could no longer hide his panic. His eyes were filled with despair. He looked at Khansa and her family many times. It was as if asking for answers from the strange things that befell his wife.

"Don't panic first Al. Let's see Mama..." Mom and Mom came closer. Alex still did not release Khansa in his arms.

Mama and Mama look at Khansa's body closely. The worried face shaded their faces. Heavy breathing seemed to be heard in each of their breaths. Their reaction like that made Alex even more worried.

"I've called the doctor Afifah. He's ready and waiting for Khansa's mother." Suddenly Winda came to tell me everything. The family looked relieved.

"Righten yourself Al!! Get your wife to the hospital immediately!!" Mama hits Alex on the back, looking annoyed at her useless son.

Without saying a word, Alex immediately carried Khansa and followed Mama's direction. All the families came to the hospital. The event that aimed to propose and was supposed to be filled with happiness turned into a panic seeing Khansa pass out.

The whole family seemed very worried, especially Alex. While holding Khansa, the man began to sob. Blaming yourself for the Khansa. He no longer cared about people's assumptions. His mind was too focused on Khansa.

"W-How is this Ma? B-what if something happens to her?" Alex's wailing voice implied a deep sense of despair and sadness.

"Mama is sure nothing will happen Al. You are tough. Don't be weak like this. You must be a force for your wife and your future son." Mama pats Alex on the shoulder, trying to be a force for her weak son.

Twenty minutes later the door of the examination room opened. All the families stood up and surrounded the doctor Afifah. The doctor looked at Alex.

"You are truly an irresponsible husband huh!! Not that I've told you to take good care of your wife. Why did this happen again?!"Doctor Afifah scolded Alex in front of everyone. Everyone was silent, seemingly speechless. Mama, who felt her son was humiliated, started talking.

"Why do doctors scold my child in public like this? What's the matter, actually? Can the doctor explain why?"

"Oh, are you the mother of this man? Sorry if my words were harsh. But I have to confirm one thing. I am usually not like this. But seeing your son make the same mistake so many times made me unable to keep this matter quiet. It's about two people's lives ma'am!"

"What-what do you mean? Why are lives being taken?" my voice began to tremble, unsure.

"Your son has been negligent. His attitude endangers the lives of the mother and her baby. Because of your son, Khansa's mother almost lost her baby, twice!!" doctor Afifah said in a fiery manner.

All eyes were on the origin of the sound. A surprised look was seen in each of their gazes when they saw Alex's body fall down with a downcast face.

Alex looks like a man who has lost the war. His body trembled and a sobbing sound began to sound. Alex wept in regret.
