CHAPTERS 17. FAMILY WARMTH

As Anneke saw all that, she suddenly felt a radiating warmth entering her body and her heart that instantly felt safe and comfortable. It felt like he had not felt this kind of warmth for a long time.

A warmth of family he had since childhood. Ever since Anneke decided to chase Noah madly, actually all the warm feelings in her heart were eroded slowly by the day.

Anneke turned into a lonely figure. So lonely! Really lonely. He is like a kitten that has no mother or master. He lost his way and dissolved into the imagination created from the stories and delusions presented by his evil cousin Kaylee! And foolishly he followed all the storylines by his cousin.

Then Anneke recalled a memory that had been stuck in her brain. In her former life, Anneke never returned home again for ten years! He was so busy going back and forth to two countries just to tail that jerk guy!

Truly he has become a crazy child who is unfilial to parents! How could he forget his parents just because of a jerk?

You idiot! Anneke felt so stupid! Unaware he hit her on the head and grimaced because he hit her too hard. Wh why? Why could he be so stupid just for the sake of an unworthy man?

“Anneke? Why are you standing there still? Are you okay?” asked Grandpa Liam at once also disperse all the daydreams of the beautiful woman.

“Oh sorry grandpa. I was just...” before Anneke finished talking, her grandfather had pulled his arm towards the dining room because Liam's grandfather had ordered the kitchen section to make all of Anneke's favorite meals.

After they entered the dining room, Anneke looked at the large dining table filled with various kinds of favorite foods that are very tempting. 

There are crispy shrimp, black pepper sauce crab, basil grilled chicken, kimloo soup and some kind of all-sweet dessert that is also Anneke's favorite. Everything is so tempting! Anneke even gulped her own saliva as she could not wait to eat it all.

“Let's sit down.” Grandpa Liam gently push the body of his grandson so they can eat a delicious dish.

“Thank you grandpa.” said Anneke while sitting in the position he used to sit first.

For a long time he did not enjoy this sweet food. His heart was so happy! But wait!

Before Anneke finished giving away the food on the table, her beautiful eyes unknowingly met the glare of a middle-aged man who was currently sitting at the end of the table.

The man had firm facial features, thick eyebrows, brownish-black eyes and a charming pointed nose. Really handsome! The middle-aged man was no less when compared to that cold husband of his! The difference between the two was only that the middle-aged man looked more mature and wore glasses.

“Papa!” Anneke reviews a sweet smile and runs over to her father who looks like a handsome vampire waiting to punish her naughty baby. He then hugged his father's neck and even kissed Alfred Runaki's cheeks with a spoiled kiss.

“Papa, how are you?” anneke asked her silent father, who did not respond.

“…….”

“Papa..” Anneke again sounded sulky as she leaned her chin on the middle-aged man's shoulder. “Papa, how are you?” Anneke began to outline her embrace slowly.

“What papa eats well?” he caught a glimpse of his father's body which seemed to be a little more thin. “Papa should eat a lot to stay healthy and fit.”

“Wait...Is papa still mad at me?” Anneke kept talking even though her father didn't respond. Alfred this time looked very angry at his only daughter. He's really mad! He swore he would not let go that easily! Alfred hardened his heart while remembering that this little girl was married without his permission!

His marriage was not celebrated even Noah had never once come to visit him at the Runako residence to show his respect for his in-laws! But this little girl still insisted on leaving the house and all the luxuries, and even then without her permission! Truly this beautiful and sweet child had been poisoned by Noah Killian Arsenio!

Unlike Liam's grandfather who was patient and thoughtful, always understood Noah's busyness as a top businessman. And he thought it trivial but not with that melancholy-themed Alfred! Alfred always used his feelings more in responding to everything.

“Papa....” Once again Anneke sulked spoiled and showed her two beautiful eyes flickering like a cute puppy in front of her. “Papa..”.

At first Alfred thought that he would be able to bully Anneke by putting on a fierce face and silencing her. But as Anneke continued to call out to him with that spoiled voice nonstop! 

The voice of her daughter was truly sweet like honey destroying her defensive fortress. Upon seeing his daughter sitting next to him, Alfred was completely relieved, as if a sack of stone had been lifted from his tired shoulder. His eyes turned cheerful and the corners of his lips lifted.

He then took his cutlery and gave some smoked meat and vegetables to Anneke's empty bowl.

“Eat a lot...” Alfred said attentively while continuously taking pieces of food until he himself forgot to fill his own plate.

Yes, Alfred Runako was never able to understand why he always lost to this spoiled girl. No matter how angry she was with Anneke, she always forgave her daughter for granted.

He was wondering if he was the weakest man in the world? Why could she never be so strict with her daughter? Is it because he loves her too much?

Seeing Anneke who kept sticking with Alfred made the grandfather apparently a little jealous. Last night he told Alfred to contact Anneke but his son refused. Now, when Anneke has come, she will grab the attention of her beloved granddaughter! Not accept!

Grandpa Liam felt unacceptable with all the injustice he got. “Ehem!” Grandpa Liam cleared his throat to draw Anneke's attention to her.

“Uhuk!” he added again because the first action did not work. Looking at her grandfather who was currently coughing, Anneke could not help but notice him.

He quickly picked up his bowl and shifted to sit closer towards the grandfather who currently seemed to be smiling triumphantly. ‘Ha ha ha ha! Feel you Alfred!’ inner grandfather Liam while glancing at his son who was currently seen narrowing his eyes because his little baby had been stolen away.
