CHAPTER 6. ACCIDENT

“Halo Anneke.”

“He's what's up Kay? Why is your voice like a frightened person?”

“Ak---I was chased by people. Now I'm hiding. I'm so scared, keke. Can you come pick me up?” Kaylee.

“Yes. Just tell me where are you now?”

“I---I was not far from the project. My car broke down, please come here as soon as.”

“Good. You just wait there. I'll pick you up soon.”

“Oke okay....” Kaylee replied in a quivering voice of fear.

Anneke rushed to get her sash bag and car keys and got out of the house. Today his grandfather and father are in a branch office outside the city. While he was about to go to the salon to please himself but suddenly got a call from his cousin.

Anneke drove her vehicle towards the housing project her father's company was working on. It was about half an hour from her home, not too far away so she agreed to Kaylee's request. Anneke who focuses on driving forward his vehicle quickly to get to the destination soon.

But while on the T-junction heading to the project site, a truck was speeding in the opposite direction. The driver of the truck appeared to be talking on the phone so that he did not pay attention to the road.

BRAKKK! BRAAKKK!

The surprised Anneke did not have time to dodge until the truck hit his car until it was thrown away and overturned. While the big truck stopped for a moment, looking back to see the car that was hit by the ringset and then drove fast leaving the accident site.

While at the project site, Kaylee was still waiting for Anneke's arrival while occasionally glancing at her watch. He seemed agitated and grabbed the phone from his bag and tried to contact Anneke but the call was not connected. ‘Where the hell is he? He said he wanted to pick me up here.’ complained upset and tried to call back.

Kaylee got into her car and drove at a moderate speed. ‘Fucking basics! Why do I have to use this ugly car anyway? I should've had a fancy car like Anneke! Ck! Mama didn't want to buy me that fancy car. Always the same reason, no money. Fuuh!’

When he arrived at the fork, his eyes suddenly looked at a car that was cringed near a tree. The condition of the vehicle is heavy. “Akhhhh! it-that's Anneke's car?” he pulled the car over and got off. With a quick step he approached the heavily damaged car. With a shuddering expression of horror Kaylee stared at the familiar figure.

“Aaan---ann--annekeee....ohhh....why is this?” his voice shook then pulled out his phone and took photos and videos. After that he approached the steering wheel, he saw Anneke's bloodied body in a pinched condition. Kaylee called the emergency number to report the accident.

An hour later, Kaylee was still in the hospital with her mother and father. “Have you contacted your grandfather and uncle?” marisa asked her daughter.

“But ma. I was shocked and forgot to call them. Hasn't mom contacted them yet?” asked Kaylee who saw her mother shake her head. “Mama should contact them now. Don't let them get mad at us.”

Marisa suddenly regained her senses, shaking her head several times to wake herself up. He also contacted his father and brother. He walked a bit away and spoke for a while and sat down next to Kaylee. “Actually what happened?” tanyakanya.

“I also don't know ma. When I was about to get home from the project I saw his car there.”

The door of the IGD chamber opened and a doctor came out while removing his mask. “Family victims?”

“Iya yes doctor. We're his family. How's the doctor doing?” ask Marisa nervously.

“Ahkkk....” Marisa's body is limp while holding onto Kaylee's shoulder.

“Ma....sit down first.” Kaylee said helping her mother sit down. “Doctor, can I see my cousin?”

“Please. We will immediately move him to the morgue.” said the doctor and left Marisa and Kaylee.

“Mama won't see Anneke one last time?” kaylee asked after the doctors and nurses left them.

Marisa wiped away her tears quickly and stood up. “Ayo....mama would also like to see it.”.

Both of them entered the room. Kaylee immediately closed the door and walked over to Anneke who was lying stiffly above the gurney. A grinning smile appeared on Kaylee's pretty face as she looked at the stiff body.

‘Where am I? Why can't I move my body? Ahhh. But what is this?’ mumbling Anneke. He wanted to open his eyes but could not, as if his eyes were tightly closed and his whole body stiffened motionless. Fear enveloped him, he suddenly panicked and was about to scream.

But he could not move his mouth. ‘Yes God! What's the matter? What happened to me?’ he tried hard to move his fingers but failed. But suddenly he heard voices around him.

Anneke tried to sharpen her hearing, like the sound of two people or maybe three people talking nearby.

But he could not open his eyes to see who was there. The voices were still faintly heard but slowly he could hear clearly.

“Ah isn't that the voice of Aunt Marisa and Kaylee? And the voice of the man? Who's the other one? It doesn't seem like Om Jose, I know his voice well but it's not Om Jose.’ he murmured inwardly.

But Anneke only heard the man's voice for a moment and then it looked like he was out and there was only Marisa and Kaylee in the room. Anneke tried hard to move her body.

“Tell me what really happened? Why did he get in an accident?” marisa asked in a soft voice.

“I don't know Ma either. As I said earlier, I did talk to him but when I was on my way home from the project I saw his car was ringsek.” answered Kaylee. It's true what he said but it's not entirely true.

“Do not lie to mama! Did you have anything to do with this accident?” ask Marisa again. “Say Kaylee! Mama should know what you're doing out there.” She was dissatisfied with her daughter's answer because she knew very well that she hated Anneke for being jealous and jealous of her wealthy cousin.

“Ck! Mama should be glad she's dead! We do not need to deal with him anymore.” Kaylee said as she looked at the body stiffened above the gurney. “Actually I did ask him to pick me up. I was upset that my car was not as cool as his car, this morning I wanted to borrow his car but he did not refuse. So---”

“So? You deliberately planned this accident?” ask Marisa. “Kaylee! Why didn't you tell me Mama? Why do you have to act alone if you want to get rid of it? How about until your grandfather and uncle figure this out, huh?” marisa said indignant with the careless actions of her son. He clenched both his hands staring intently at Kaylee.

“Mama don't be afraid. No one will know the real events. He's dead too. Won't be able to tell anything!” kaylee said calmly.

“What if the police investigate this accident? They might find the culprit. Kaylene! Quickly tell me that you didn't hit him? Mama doesn't want you to go to jail for this.”

“Ck! Mama is overthinking it! Take it easy, Ma. Everything's safe, we're not gonna get caught up in this because I didn't hit the car. That's papa's paid guy! After all the man wasn't a real driver, he also stole the truck to crash into Anneke.”'s car
