CHAPTER 71. LIED

Anneke was in her office when Levi contacted her because Noah asked her to come to his office immediately. After two minutes of running across the street, Anneke finally reached the elevator door panting until sweat trickled down her forehead. He hurriedly pressed the elevator button leading to the CEO's room and without waiting long for the elevator door to open.

While breathing slightly, he retreated backwards to make room for the male employees who got into the elevator.

“Hey have you heard the uproar today?” said the man in black tie nudging his friend's arm.

“What is really going on?” asked the other man who looked at her with a curious look.

“Today the CEO is holding a meeting with the design department. And the CEO announced that all employees should meet with his secretary. I can no longer meet him at will. Only if there are important or urgent matters can they be allowed to enter his study and meet him.”

“Really? Why could that be? If we have problems with work or there are documents that should be checked by him how?” ask the man in chocolate.

“Must submit to his secretary. If he agrees to meet then can only meet him in his study.” replied his colleague.

“Why did he suddenly change the rules? What about Manager Jesica? Hasn't he always had lunch with the CEO? He even came home the night waiting for the CEO to finish his job.”

“No exception! And the CEO even gave an affirmation to Jesica! Looks like he's mad at her because the CEO told me that Manager Jesica has been spreading rumors and disrespecting his wife.”

“Ckckck! As expected, Manager Jesica has always been only a third party! Aihhhh she must have been so embarrassed earlier yes reprimanded in front of everyone!”

“Ya right! His face was flushed and he did not say much. Or maybe what has been rumored so far is not true? Is it possible that everything is just a hoax?”

“Maybe too! But how do we know who's lying? There's no way Jesica's manager made up such a lie?”

“If not him then who? Oh yes, he said this new rule was made by Madam! Because she heard that female employees often look for reasons to enter the CEO room!”

“Oh so huh? Wow, it looks like this is exciting!” the three male employees gossiped without realizing Anneke was there.

Ting!

The elevator doors opened and the three men rushed out of the elevator leaving Anneke in a corner with a face full of question marks. Manager Jesica scolded Noah in front of everyone?

The employee elevator opened in front of Noah's office, which immediately showed the workspace behind the glass was empty. There's no one there! Is Noah still in the meeting room?

When the elevator door was about to close again, suddenly something stuck in the door. Anneke saw a large palm holding the door until the elevator opened again and showed Noah. Anneke snorted and did not want to see the man's face. He quickly pressed the button again for the door to close immediately.

But Noah held back faster with his feet between the doors so that the elevator did not respond. While the actions of Anneke who tried to avoid the gaze of her eyes, made Noah's heart feel uncomfortable. He immediately pulled Anneke with his powerful arm.

“Release! Noah! Let go of me first! What did you call me here? I work a lot in my office!”

Anneke tried to break away but the arm still pulled her and took her into her room. With a slight rebelling Anneke wanted to break away.

But the arm kept forcing her until she could no longer resist. Arriving in the room, Anneke kept turning her face and did not want to look at Noah.

Panicking after hearing Levi's words earlier made him rush to come there immediately.

She left her job, when Levi called her earlier she was making her first client-order jewelry design. It was the design for the jewelry set that would be worn for the wedding.

But because of Noah, he was forced to leave work. Although the other day Noah compensated him for his wasted time but he could not let it happen again.

He should focus on his new company. The room was quiet, Noah closed the vertical blind so no one could see inside. He sat Anne on the sofa, knowing she was angry with him.

Seeing the expression on Anneke's face was somehow able to tease her heart that was starting to warm up! He felt the warmth of a wife's anger.

She tried stroking Anneke's hair, a soft soothing caress while twirling the long strands of her hair just to play.

He felt comfortable touching that fine hair. A few minutes passed, Anneke was still silent not budging at all. In his heart Noah was confused.

He preferred the angry Anneke to curse and curse him rather than be silenced like this. Noah realizes that he was wrong to tell Levi to lie by saying that he was suddenly sick.

“Hey, do you want candy?” noah spontaneously thought about it.

Anneke couldn't believe what she had just heard.

Is he considered a child who can be bribed with candy? Or did Noah just think of him as a child? That's why he always played with her?

“Huuuuh!” Anneke snorted in annoyance as she turned her face away.

“Or want some ice cream? Want some chocolate? Vanilla? Strawberry?” Noah got a new idea. It seems like this idea is better because all women love ice cream.

Hearing the word ice cream, Anneke thought of something else. He misinterpreted the word. ‘Oh apparently this guy likes to do that? It must be the time he said he never touched any woman, it's because he likes the ice cream style isn't it? No wonder Noah loved ice cream. Does that guy like such a disgusting style? Cih!’

“So not ice cream? Hmmm....brown yes?” talk to Noah again, but Anneke remains silent.

“Why don't you want to talk? Am I wrong especially you?”

“Oh so you don't realize what mistake you made today?” Anneke clucked in annoyance.

“I don't know! Try telling me, maybe I forgot or-”

“Cih! Forgot it? Can anyone forget in just minutes?” hiss Anneke again. “Noah! I can't handle you every day with all these games! I do a lot of work.”

“What do you mean? I'm confused, I don't know at all!”

“Levi called me and said you were suddenly sick! He said you told him to call me to come here soon. Butwhat? You're doing fine! I heard from your employees that you just finished a meeting! Forgot?” Anneke opened her eyes.
