CHAPTER 5. BACK HOME

“Take it easy ma. That woman is not hard to get rid of! I just need to get rid of Anneke, once she's eliminated and no longer bearing the title of Miss Arsenio means my opponent is bigger. It did not feel like time had passed so quickly, a month since the departure of Mariam Arsenio. Everything went back as usual. This afternoon the frenetic atmosphere of the airport accompanied by the hot weather made a woman who had just stepped out of the airport wrinkle her forehead. Over a month he left the country to calm down.

Now she brought back souvenirs for her favorite grandmother-in-law. But when he arrived at the Arsenio residence, he was shocked by the news of Mariam Arsenio's death. Not only that, he was not even allowed to enter the residence on the orders of Noah Arsenio.

Anneke sobbed leaving the Arsenio residence while dragging her suitcase. The souvenirs she bought for her grandmother-in-law only became memories. Only her memories with her grandmother-in-law remain.

During this time he took a vacation to calm down and deliberately turned off his phone because he did not want to be disturbed.

He loved his grandmother-in-law all this time, only Mariam Arsenio supported him and so his encouragement to conquer Noah's heart. But now he no longer had any grip to hold on.

“Grandpa! Ii'm sorry. All this time I didn't tell you the truth.” Anneke cut off her grandfather's speech. The guilt that enveloped his heart made him unceasingly cry.

While Alfred Runako, Anneke's father only silently watched the princess and her father who hugged each other. From the beginning he was the most opposed to the match, but his daughter loved Noah very much and opposed him. Choosing to follow the wishes of his grandfather because it was the desire of Anneke long ago to be able to marry Noah.

The middle-aged man let out a long sigh, feeling saddened by the fate of his beautiful daughter. Ten years pass by, ten years of his daughter's life and happiness are taken away by a marriage that ends in divorce.

She doesn't know that her daughter is unhappy all along, so much so that Anneke hides everything, pretends to be happy and acts like her life is fine.

Alfred held onto his aching chest, imagining a ten-year period whether life was what Anneke lived. But she was relieved that her daughter was able to escape the marriage and return home. It's still not too late to fix everything, however Anneke is her favorite daughter.

“Anneke, calm yourself for a few days. Do you want to go on holiday to the villa for a while?” alfred asked his daughter.

“No pa. I'm not going anywhere.” replied Anneke deleting her tears.

She lost the person she loved the most all this time, she unceasingly blamed herself for failing to meet Noah to dampen all the news about her ex-husband.

I don't know who sent the pictures to Mariam and told her about Anneke and Noah's ten-year marriage was just a lie.

No one knows that Mariam is very sad not because of the photos but the news about Anneke and Noah who for ten years turned out to live separate lives.

Mariam feels very guilty to Anneke, she is angry at Noah who has been treating her daughter-in-law's granddaughter badly all this time. Mariam left with her heart wound without ever meeting Anneke again.

He stayed for two days in the hospital hoping that his son-in-law's granddaughter could come see him before he left. But in her final moments, Anneke still did not appear in the hospital.

“I'll be home. I feel sad and guilty. Grandma died it's all my fault.”

“Sstttt....don't say so keke! You're innocent, it's fate to stop blaming yourself. We are all saddened by Mariam's departure but remember, she always loves you.” Liam comforted his granddaughter.
