Before Divorce

Before Divorce
Chapter 30 - Awakening

The sound of medical devices sounded earthy in a VIP inpatient room at your Hope hospital. One patient who had been in a coma for six months suddenly moved his fingers.

"Suster! My son is awake, Sister!" Shouted a middle-aged woman asking for the help of a nurse.

"Shortly, Mom. I'll call the doctor first!" The nurse immediately pressed the help button in the room.

Shortly after, a doctor rushed in and a nurse entered the hospital room. The doctor immediately checked the patient's vital condition. The patient's eyelids began to open.

The doctor smiled. "Congratulations Sir, Ma. Looks like your daughter is starting to wake up from her coma" the doctor said.

"Thank God, Dad. Shiena we're back..." The middle-aged woman immediately hugged her husband and gave thanks over and over again.

"Shyen! Can you hear Mother, son?" Wulan approached the child's gurney.

Shiena looked weak. I think his eyes still want to be closed.

"It's okay, slowly yes" said the doctor.

Shiena nodded weakly.

"It's best not to ask the patient to talk first, ma'am. The patient needs rest. Then excuse me. If anything is needed, just press the help button. Excuse me!"

The doctor and nurse came out of the room.

"Shyen! Thank goodness, son, you're awake. Mother same father is very worried about your situation..." Wulan could not help but hold back her tears.

Six months had Wulan waiting for Shiena to be able to wake up from her coma. The wait has now been completed. Shiena woke up from her long sleep.

...***...

The next day, Shiena's condition had started to improve. He began to be able to respond to people around him.

"Darling, are you awake?" Wulan lovingly rubbed the top of Shiena's head gently.

"Mother... Dad..." Lirih Shiena who saw her father and mother were in plain sight.

"Kok you two are just here. Where's Bang Shandy?"

Shiena knew she was in the hospital. But what caused it to be in the hospital, Shiena did not know yet.

Wulan and Prayitno will wait until Shiena starts to recover and tell her everything.

Wulan and Yitno looked at each other. How could Shiena ask Shandy at a time like this?

"Darling, did you forget? Your brother's been gone a long time, son. It was ten years ago..."

Wulan's statement left Shiena stunned.

(What?! Bang Shandy is dead? What the hell is this really? What year am I now? Am I not repeating time? Why did Bang Shandy die?)

"Son, maybe you're still confused because you've been in a coma for too long. But, slowly you can definitely accept everything." This time Yitno spoke.

Shiena racked her brain to collect puzzle pieces that felt scattered. Shiena turned to the right and left. He's looking for something.

(Calendar!)

Shiena stared at the calendar perched on the nightstand.

(Year 2023? What's?! No way! So, I'm back to the real year? That means me and Mas Willy.?.

Shiena closed her eyes. He really doesn't understand everything that's happened to him.

(Did I only dream because I was in a coma? But, all the things I experienced with Mas Willy were real. Me and Mas Willy are really repeating time!)

"She, what are you thinking?" Wulan's soft voice resuscitated Shiena's daydream.

"Eh? No, Mother. I didn't think of anything. Umm, Mommy. What exactly happened to me? Why am I here? I heard yesterday you mentioned that I've been here for six months. Is that true?"

Shiena's question made Wulan grieve. His eyes were teary in light of the sad event.

"You had an accident, son." Yitno replied in place of Wulan who was unable to tell stories.

"What's? A wreck?" Shiena Mumbled.

"You want to pick up Anila at the airport. You said Anila came here. She ran away from the husband who tortured her, and you want to help her."

Yitno paused her story.

"You had an accident when you wanted to go back home. Your condition was very bad at the time..."

Shiena closed her mouth. He could not believe that everything that happened to him was just a dream.

"Where is Anila now?" Shiena asked with a trembling voice.

"Anila's still unconscious, son."

Yitno's reply made Shiena cry sobbing. How could fate play tricks on him?

Wulan hugged Shiena to strengthen her daughter's heart.

"I'd like to meet Anila, Mother..." His request to Wulan.

"Honey, wait for your condition to improve first! You were in a coma for six months. So, there is no way you can immediately move as usual. You have to be patient. Yea?"

Shiena understood that it was impossible for her to refuse Wulan's request. After all, his entire body felt as if it had been crushed by the impact in the accident.

Shiena suddenly remembered something...

"Yes..." Call Shiena shirih.

"Yes, son?"

"Where is Mas Willy? Did he come to see me when I was in a coma yesterday?"

Wulan and Yitno looked at each other. Afterwards Wulan shook her head slowly.

Shiena sighed.

(Really! This year, Me and Mas Willy agreed to divorce. I even signed the divorce papers. My status and that of Mas Willy has changed. We are no longer a married couple, but an ex)

"If you're worried about your separation, then..." Wulan hung up her sentence.

Shiena stared fixedly at her mother.

"You can't get divorced yet. Because you both can't attend your divorce hearing."

Shiena frowned. He did not understand the sentence after sentence his mother stated.

"Why didn't Willy come to court, Bun? Isn't he the one who wanted this farewell?" Shiena's voice choked when she said that.

It turned out that all his dreams would never materialize. They do not repeat time and they only do what the universe wants.

Wulan grasped Shiena's hand gently.

"Son Willy had an accident too. Just like you..."

"What-what?!" Shiena was in shock. His breath moved irregularly.

"She, calm yourself! Don't think about anything!"

Shiena shakes. Her tears just escaped from the corner of her eye.

"Willy is also in a coma like you" Yitno said.

Wulan hugged Shiena tightly. He rubbed his back so that his daughter would no longer be sad.

"I'd like to see Willy's mas, Mother..."

Wulan still hugged Shiena and chose not to answer.

"Swimming, Son! I'll find out about Willy. He's not in this hospital, so I'll just call Willy's family."

Shiena closed her eyes.

(Why does fate seem so cruel to us? Will we be happy even if we get divorced?)

"She, your divorce was annulled, because two parties were never present at the trial."

Yitno's reply again made Shiena sculpt.

(What does the universe really want from me? Why would I have to experience something like this? The dream that I had, really felt very real.).
