EIGHT TARGETS

EIGHT TARGETS
133. The Pain That Is Replied with a Million-Fold Pain

In the middle of the night, when the guard of the special detention house for the perpetrators of these unnatural crimes was off guard, Tirta woke up and began his action.

In that darkness, he painstakingly dragged his crippled body with a left hand that he could still move handcuffed together with his right hand so inevitably, he was unable to, his right hand was also dangled, adjusting the motion with his left hand which was also while holding tightly a key that was none other than the key of his own holding cell.

However, Tirta did not move to the side of the door.  He actually moved in the opposite direction, in the innermost direction of his cell.  It was near the inner side wall that he appeared to be carving something on the cement floor using the key.  He did it all night with a scary expression.  His eyeballs were yellow, but somehow it glowed blue.

Dawn arrived and the time showed at 5.30 WIB exactly.  Suddenly, a furore ensued in the special detention house.  Terrible screams of pain were heard from one of the cells.  Yes, it was none other than Tirta's prisoner cell.

As soon as the officer tried to check in his cell, it turned out that Tirta had been charred, burned.  He died that day, at exactly 5:30 on May 12, 2022.

They just realized that the handcuffs worn to Tirta turned out to have been replaced because the shape of the handcuffs turned into a very strange serrated model and somehow stupid they that no one realized it after Dirga visiting as if everything was subjected to a dazed hypnosis.

What makes them flabbergasted is that there are strange carvings in handcuffs that are no stranger to them.  3 Spade card engraving crossed out one of the symbols of the spade.  A marker that is always left behind by a black joker serial killer every time it eliminates its target.

Then, no less astounding, were the last words that Tirta had left on the floor.

And from the rooftop of a building that can clearly see the outside view of the detention house that is in turmoil due to the tragic accident of Tirta, the black joker serial killer stands up laughing so badly.

“Hahahaha.  Look at that, my brother Dios!  The bastard who hurt you I have already avenged with a similar pain that is millions and millions of times more devastating.  Hahaahahaha.  Now there are two more and our grudges will finally be over.”

Said the black joker serial killer while laughing out loud with a cruel expression that emanated from his face that was not covered in a mask.

That morning, Kaiser who was just about to open the door for a jog outside for a bit, was startled by the doorbell that was about to open it suddenly rang.

With a curious look, he opened the door.  Apparently it was Airi who had just come out of the hospital.

“Airi-san?”

“Koniciwa, Kaiser-kun.”  Airi said with a smile towards Kaiser.

Airi entered the house.  However, not a few steps, he almost fell about the pain in his knee has not healed properly.  It was fortunate that Kaiser managed to reach it.

“Airi-san, how come you've come home?  Shouldn't you still be hospitalized?”  Kaiser asked worriedly.

“Just calm Kaiser-kun, you know, if a cultivator, the healing period is shorter.  I'm your bodyguard anyway.  I can't leave you too long.”  Airi also answered.

“Lantas, what's with these blisters?”  But Kaiser seemed to doubt the honesty of the answer.

“Ah, hungry!  There isn't ya something to eat?”  As if avoiding the question, Airi then switched the conversation.

Kaiser sighed then took the phone from his pants pocket while making a phone call.

“Doctor Claude, this morning please come to my house yes to take care of patients.”  Kaiser said in his phone call.

Kaiser smiled as he looked at Airi gently.

“Maybe it's good as well if Airi-san was treated at home only during the healing process.  Some say, the atmosphere of the house is one of the best healing remedies.”  Kaiser said with that friendly smile.

But Airi responded with a sad expression on her face.

Seeing that unusual expression from Airi, Kaiser asked,

However, Airi immediately dismissed him.

“No problem whatsoever, Kaiser-kun.  Hahaahaha.  Maybe I'm just too hungry.”  Airi replied with an awkward laugh.

Seeing Airi's behavior that seemed to feel bad about the problem, Kaiser decided to give her space and decided to just watch her at this time.  Kaiser just said,

“If it's about me being targeted by that black joker serial killer, you don't have to worry, Airi-san.  I will survive in my own strength.  Hehehehehe.”  He tried to seem to laugh.

However, Airi's expression had instead grown complicated.  How could he believe such a promise coming out of the mouth of a man who never thought twice about plunging into danger to realize his idealism or to protect his friends.

“Oh yes, Kaiser-kun.  Do you know the black joker serial killer?  You see he keeps calling you with ‘pain’ pretenders as if he ever knew you well.”

Kaiser's expression instantly changed to serious mode upon hearing Airi's statement.

“I have the candidate.  Did Airi-san have time to listen to the voice of the black joker?”  Kaiser asked back.

“Unfortunately, she used voice changer so I couldn't recognize her voice.”  Answer Airi.

“Is that?”  Said the young man disappointed that once again the opportunity to uncover the identity of the black joker disappeared.

The new captain maya came 2 hours after the incident, unable to hold back his emotions.

“Stupid basis!  What do you do when I'm not around?!  Does it make sense to let isolated prisoners gain visitors?!  Where are your brains?!  When you take the CPNS test to be a warden, do you not read the SOP that is standard mastered by every warden well?!  So, why did you guys pass the test and get accepted to work here?!”

Shouted Captain Maya while expressing all his frustration at the foolish actions of his men who let Dirga visit.

“If it's like this, maybe what Kaiser said is true.  This happened a day after Dirga visited.  And Marjono who was suddenly close to Dirga made Dirga's nature suddenly change.  All this makes sense, if they are all hypnotized by a power that Marjono has.”

“But Captain, shouldn't every warden and every employee in this building, including the police when entering the building, be protected by antihypnotic spiritual goggles?”  Said one of the administration officials there wearing sunglasses.

Hearing the answer, Captain Maya became misbehaved while immediately taking sunglasses tucked in the collar of his shirt and wearing it.

“Well, it's not like I'm not wearing it.  I just took it off temporarily because I was in the room.  If I'm interrogating or walking in a building, I'm wearing it well, Alena.”  Answer Captain Maya awkwardly.

“Well, perhaps, that is also what the other subordinate, Captain, thought so they were careless not to follow the SOP in this building and ended up hypnotized and controlled.”

Captain Maya was silent at the piercing remark of her subordinates by returning the words she had just thrown.  Alena continued, though,

“It could also be ineffective because the glasses were designed only to ward off hypnotic attacks from F-level spiritualists.  If it turns out that the culprit is higher level, the glasses will no longer be effective.  That's why I said, Captain needs to immediately try to find a budget from the government to plan the repair of our equipment.”

Alena once again fell silent for a moment while seriously looking at the Captain's face.  Then he continued,

“And also, mental training very soon needs to be proclaimed as well.  Especially in the case of hypnosis as it is today.  The more mentally weak a person is, then the easier he is hypnotized involuntarily.”

Alena then laid her head on her keyboard with a feeling of disappointment.

“In addition, the head office even approved many employees not to use only based on insight, physical, and fitness tests.  What's the point of all that?  The most important thing is to be mentally strong if you want to deal with criminals with unnatural abilities.  There is still a lot to do in our office.  For now, let's call the boy again, Captain Maya.”  Alena continued with a tired look on her face.
