18. The Poor Scavenger

That night, unlike usual, Andika came home two and a half hours late from her curfew.  He had just returned home after attending a rally on TV News.

With media attention distracted at the news about the celebrity's extravagant life, not so much response was received from the public through the demonstration. 

However, on this second day, Andika and friends get unexpected personnel assistance.  They were a salesperson's union in a public shopping district where Kaiser, in his early school days in Junior High, often visited. 

Apparently they were taken by Zion after Zion told them what Kaiser had experienced.

After returning home, Andika rushed in after changing her shoes with a pair of white slippers. 

Once through the living room, he found that his mother had fallen asleep while sitting on the sofa while the TV was still on. 

“Duh, what exactly are you doing anyway?  Will it be free to work hard if Mom becomes neglected like this?” 

Although his words seemed angry at his father, Andika smiled.  Andika loves her father and understands why her father has to work harder.

Suddenly the voice on the television made Andika gasp in shock and annoyance. 

“Today, a scavenger with the initials A.A. was caught stealing a laptop in one of the electronic shopping areas.  The public asked about the safety of shopping. Citizens who were furious then beat the scavenger to death.  The surrounding community where the scavenger lived did not want to bathe the body of the victim so that the family 

Not from the contents of the news, but who brought the news that made Andika upset.  He is Vet Tcin.

That morning, Andika listlessly got ready for school.  It was because of his disappointment in the protests he and his friends who were not influenced by the community and were more concerned with things that could be said to be not important like the artist's lifestyle.  However, his eyes instantly widened to see the contents of the TV news that morning.

“What is more than a parent's love for their child?  Does anybody? 

A father tried to save from his job as a garbage man in order to give a congratulatory gift to his son in the form of a laptop that was successfully accepted to work as a CPNS in one of the government-owned institutions with his own efforts though his father's job was just a garbage man. 

However, it ends tragically where the perpetrator and the victim are swapped because the public directly assesses the victim from his external appearance. 

The victim who just came out of the store after buying a laptop was about to be robbed by the perpetrator.  The perpetrator who then pretended to scream for help, brought in a crowd and beat A.A., the Victim, to death. 

Reporter Aliska Subardja will give us an exclusive report.”

“Sang Son who has just come from the area crying over his father's death.  The father had started saving a year and a half ago since his son graduated from college.”.

“If this is indeed his destiny, I can be sincere with my father's departure.  But why should my father be so ashamed even at his death?  Where's the fucking reporter!  This, this! Can you see the receipt of this purchase on whose behalf?”

“Yes.  It's true Brother A.A. bought a laptop here.  I myself served him at the cashier.”

The news shocked the world of television.  Many gripped NTV on the internet as TV news reported the incident at the beginning incorrectly. 

That is no exception in school.  The NTV News reporting error has become a topic of conversation everywhere in every corner of the school.

“Wah, Young Master must be very happy with this development huh.  Without intervening directly, the chance to take down your annoying enemy comes by itself." Said Fero sitting right behind Kaiser trying to disturb the Young Master.

He then smiled sinisterly and put his palms together while advancing his head until his lips were closer to the Young Master.

She whispered, "Am I wrong?  Has Young Master intervened with this problem?”   

“You!”  Andika who was able to hear Fero's faint voice then turned angry.  Kaiser just sat still without showing any reaction.

“Senior what are you doing?”  Aliska who entered then reprimanded the senior was curious. 

“Nothing.  Just a few complaints from the top management against our news.”  Answer the relaxed Panji. 

“Oh, that's because we caused a conflict in our press circle huh?  But it was their own fault that was wrong in covering the news.”  Aliska replied while sulking. 

“But you're also happy that it happened right?  Otherwise, you won't make it big.  To the extent that you whine at me for your news to be approved by the editor team.”  The Senior said as he fumbled Aliska's expression to find out what kind of expression she was about to show. 

“Hehehe.  Senior knows apparently.  By the way thank you Senior for listening to my selfish request.” 

“Nothing.”  The pennant who listened to Aliska answered while scratching his head and smiling awkwardly then replied with a smile and resuscitated himself in the swivel chair he was sitting in.

"Well, whether or not this succeeds now depends on the strength of the children.”  Aliska said with a positive smile.

Today is the third day we are protesting in front of the NTV News Office.  As expected, today it becomes more crowded after a case of falsely accusing the theft of the laptop. 

Not only from the parties who criticized NTV News related to the case was apparently present.  There were also various parties who attended because they felt they had been harmed by the mistake of reporting made by NTV News.  Look how crowded it is here people are blaspheming NTV News.

“I am an angkot driver in West Java.  The woman once covered me by saying haphazardly that I was corrupt by unilaterally raising the freight rates to passengers. 

Because of that I was fired and it was difficult to get another job as an angkot driver because my face was known everywhere as a graft driver. 

Though I raised the freight rate because at that time the passenger asked to be lowered a bit far from the actual transportation route and also on the approval of passengers. 

If I don't believe it, I have a clarifying recording of the passenger at the time… 

Because of this, my work is not fixed.  I only once worked as a porters even sometimes not enough to support the family.”  A man in his 40s told reporters .

“I am the mother of the deceased hit-and-run victim on Jalan Duku.  My son who was hit because of the carelessness of the deceased.  Why is my child being blamed? 

It was all because of the way the woman was covering the news.  She covered that the boy who had just celebrated his 15th birthday with his friends, was in a convoy to continue his celebration. 

Forced to die after hitting the victim, my son.  What if he just had a birthday?  Obviously he was careless to the point of bumping into my son who was on the unpaved side of the road! 

Isn't she 15 years old?  Why can I drive a motorbike?  Does he have a SIM?  Why would a child driving without a SIM crashing be adored, while my child is being blamed for not dodging? 

Even to the extent that my son's social media recordings are selfie cheerfully to the point of being covered!  What does this have to do with all that?  Why does it matter if my child likes to be stylish?! 

Then it's my son's fault to the point of being accused of too much style so that people get hit?  Isn't my child already in the pedestrian and motorcycle spot that kid is grazing in the pedestrian? So why is this my son's fault?”  Said an old mother to the rest of the media.”

Well apparently instead of NTV News, on average they come here to blaspheme the woman, Vet Tcin.  I hope that with all these situations, this time the case of verbal abuse by journalists experienced by our friend can be more publicized by the community.
