A Laugh in The Sea of Sadness

It's been almost a week that Ruby has just spent in her room, and her relationship with the man she loves is over. And worse, Thomas' last words before their relationship ended always cross Ruby's mind. "I still love her," the words Ruby hated.

"good. Enough Ruby, when you get up," Ruby starts to motivate herself.

He got up from his bed, took a bath and started writing the script of his novel. Ruby has a hobby of writing and she feels it is time for her to realize her desire to publish a novel. Ruby started writing scripts day and night, not going to college for a few days.

He busied himself with writing until he finally received the news that Thomas and Aster were back. The kids in the class are excited and already know Thomas's bad habits. Thomas' name was completely smeared and Ruby felt it was a bit of entertainment for her.

After all, the quality of Aster is still far below Ruby. In terms of physical, educational, intelligence, financial. Everything is still far from Ruby.

Somehow Ruby felt better when she found out her ex-lover had been dating her affair but occasionally Ruby still felt sad.

He poured his sadness through writing. Poem, poetry, and other things he wrote then he uploaded to his instagram.

"Hi brother, salam know. I'm Key," someone replied in the post poem that Ruby posted.

Ruby replied to the boy kindly. Looks like a high school kid but Ruby doesn't know who that kid is.

Key seems to want to familiarize himself with Ruby. Ruby was happy to answer Key's questions. He looks like a pretty smart kid.

"Don't you remember me?" ask Key.

"We've met before? Sorry I forgot," replied Ruby via DM.

"I kept the sister number that I got from the K-Pop group, too" Key answered Ruby's question.

"Oh. Hahaha, from that group huh. Do you like K-Pop?"

"certain. Even we idolize the same idols" Key said.

From there, their friendship began. Although Key was still a teenager, he was able to think of adulthood. Ruby confided to Key about the problems she faced. Key always accompanies Ruby at all times because Key is also a child who has nothing to do besides his tasks, and is a little lazy.

Ruby's days began to improve even though every week there were days when she cried for hours because she did not expect Thomas would leave her. But the presence of Key gives a new color in Ruby's life. They chat from morning to night, joke and do chores together even if only online.

The longer they get closer, the more Key and Ruby tell each other about their families. Key told me that his family did not care much about him because he was busy working. Key is the son of a wealthy businessman who is super busy. Key has many disease complications that do not allow him to do activities that are too heavy.

He only played with his sister who is still in 2nd grade Elementary and a maid because his parents live outside the city more often.

Sister Key is also a 4th semester student at a renowned private university outside the city. The university was notoriously elite and expensive, filled only with children who had abundant wealth.

The day after the UAS that was eagerly awaited by Ruby arrived. The holiday! Ruby, who is very close to Key, plans to meet. Because Ruby had to take care of her home in the Netherlands, they decided to meet there. Because Felix also has his grandparents' heritage home in the Netherlands. And the shocking news is they have a house in the same area.

Ruby who had prepared her things immediately went to the airport. He left alone because he was used to going abroad himself. On the plane, Ruby wrote the script on a pile of paper. For hours he wrote until he fell asleep.

The landing plane, a different atmosphere felt Ruby.

"Dutch. Finally," said Ruby.

He immediately finished his business at the airport. On the other hand, Key and his family are just about to leave for the airport. So Ruby had a lot of free time before she met Key.

But the look of a sad face appeared on Ruby's face looking at the photo of Thomas and Aster. To treat his sadness, Ruby took pictures and very much photographed the situation in the Netherlands. Then he posted it on Instagram. Of course, Esther was envious. Seen from his status upload on Instagram. Ruby is increasingly happy to see people who he hates overheating because they feel less competitive. And from that day on, Ruby decided not to be sad anymore and more active on social media to make her opponents feel defeated.

"Hahaha what a great idea," Ruby told herself.

Ruby arrived in front of her house. The house with a minimalist modern design in Dutch style located beside the river is a Ruby house that he had left long enough. He unlocked the house and saw the contents in a very dirty house. Thick dust everywhere that makes Ruby difficult to breathe, fortunately he brought a mask. He carried the suitcases and other items to the second floor, his room. The first thing Ruby does is take a broom and then clean the dust there. Then he picked up a vacuum cleaner and started cleaning his room. He changed the bed cover and the last one he swept the floor.

Suitcase he put in the corner of the room, he decided tomorrow will hire a house cleaner so that the work is not too heavy. Ruby lay down on the bed and closed her eyes. However, unlike usual, when he closed his eyes he again remembered his former lover who was actually still very much loved. She began to cry, staring at the photo of her lover that she had kept in her purse but her crying soon stopped when she remembered the bad thing Thomas had done to her.

"I should be grateful that God has shown that man is not worthy of me" Ruby said.

He looked at himself on the screen and smiled.

"God with me. God sustained me, "Ruby got excited and started writing the script again.

Until the night he worked, not even eating and bathing. Until finally the drowsiness attacked him. Ruby fell asleep in a closed state.

The sun was shining so bright that day. The light shot into Ruby's room through the window. Ruby woke up and remembered that she had fallen asleep without eating or bathing. He did not even lock his house before going to bed. He went downstairs and checked if someone had slipped into his house. Luckily, everything is safe. That morning he went out of the house, took his cell phone and photographed the beauty of the morning on the river bank near his house.

Not to forget he posted the photo on his Instagram story.

Of course the main goal is to make the rival feel defeated. Ruby is a woman who likes to compete to win things. But what does Ruby want to win? Thomas' heart back? But even if the answer is he, Thomas will not see Ruby's post because they are now blocking each other. Or is there something else Ruby wants to win?
