Happy Ending's
chapter 27: The Threat of Dariel

We were having dinner together and it was my aunt who helped me cook. The clouds always follow the father where he goes. The father plucked the grass The clouds imitated. He cut off the rose stalks, the Clouds did not want to lose and he put gloves on the Clouds so as not to hurt.

"Do you like this, baby?" ask me on the cloud that put mustard into the beginning. Auntie planted it in the back garden. He was so painstaking in growing vegetables for his own consumption and if excessive, he would share them with people he met when he wanted to go to the market.

"Do you like it, James?" The first time I made her curry. "Well .. this is delicious. I didn't know you were good at cooking, Key." No wonder, during this stay with James, I had indeed lost my desire to cook a complicated meal. I prefer to cook simple meals. Boiled or steamed. Antony, meanwhile, devouringly eats whatever is in front of him. Aunty said, ever since I left the house, she's not a picky eater. Anything will be eaten without complaint. He often does not sleep and only takes care of the rose garden every day. He said he wanted to take care of it himself so I could enjoy it when I got home.

"Eat, Anna." From then on the woman who sat opposite me just turned the noodles in her bowl. "Do you want some other food? I'll get it."

"I want rabbit meat." He answered with a smile. The four of us, including the Clouds, immediately stopped eating.

"Mama .. don't eat Lunny," said Awan crying after hearing Anna's words about to eat Lunny, one of his new rabbits. "Sstt .. don't cry baby. Aunt Anna was just kidding." I tried to calm down. "Take your food, my prince." I put some more mustard on his plate and a piece of fried chicken breast. The clouds wiped his tears and continued to eat.

"Key, you eat too."

"Thank you, James." Meanwhile Anna only noticed the food in front of her without touching it at all. His appearance is still the same as before. The dressings are always thick and always wear clothes with a low cleavage. But now, he doesn't look as happy as he used to be. His face was flat and his eyes were empty.

"Steve, are you sure that kid is your son?" I closed the ears of the cloud. Didn't want bad words to get into him even if it was a few seconds late.

"He could have been James' son. Yeah, right Steve? Five years they've lived together it's impossible never to collect kebo." Anna continued in a cynical tone.

My chest went up and down hearing that speech. While James just stroked my shoulder. Anthony who sat next to him said nothing and continued to eat. There was no sign of denying or answering Anna's question.

"Anna. Can we just go on with our dinner?" I tried to suppress my anger even though it was difficult.

"of course. As the host, I have to respect you. Eat Keyla." I let out a breath. No longer responding to his words.

"James, can you take the clouds up?" I asked when we finished eating. Meanwhile Anna was watching television and tuning her voice very loudly. Now the house is a brisk.

"Let me help you, Key." Antonius helped to clean the table and put the leftovers in the box and put them in the refrigerator.

"Are you sure you'll let your friend stay here forever?" I complained while washing dishes.

"You're too soft with your best friend."

"He's just sick Key. His emotions are unstable."

"He needs special treatment, Antonius. Put him in the hospital so someone can watch him."

"But he's not crazy yet, Key."

"But half crazy? Oh my God .. how can he talk like that in front of our son?" Antonius was smiling.

"It's important, Antonius. Why are you just silent and smiling? I've had a bad feeling since I found out Anna lives here." Without speaking, the man put his hand on my stomach. I can't avoid it or I don't want to avoid it? Can't be angry or not be angry? My chest raged with my own questions.

"I'm glad you called the Clouds our son. I've long wanted to hear those words" he said, fumbling into my stomach. "I regret not being able to see the Clouds grow here." He then turned his fingers over my stomach. And strangely enough, I felt comfortable and wanted time to stop for a moment.

"Isn't it your fault for preferring your best friend over your own wife?" I shook my shoulders to get Antonius out of the way.

"How about we make a sister for the Clouds, Key?"

"Are you trying to seduce me?"

"What's wrong with seducing your own wife?"

"Wrong. Because we're getting a divorce."

******

"Who did it, sir?" antonius asked as he turned the cloud's face away from looking directly at it. "Papa, Lunny's dead?" the clouds were crying. "No, boy. He's just sick" James, who was next to Antonius, said. "Steve, bring the clouds in." James rules. He did not want his son to see his beloved pet die in a terrible way. Antony stayed away.

"Brother same aunt found her body, didn't she?" I ask those who are confused and pityed because the rabbit has not lived in this house long."

"Auntie is coming, Ma'am. But there's no."

"His head wants to be thrown away or what about Key?" ask me I can't bear to see the white rabbit's head.

"Just be buried, sir. Please give me a sign, sir."  I answered with concern and my feelings grew worse.

"Bi, who would do this?"

"Auntie doesn't know, either. All this time there was something strange happening at home." I let out a breath. Thinking how to explain it if the Cloud asks.

"James, who do I think did it?"

"Okay, Key."

"Where's Anna?"

"It looks like it's still breakfast."

We went back inside the house and Anna was still enjoying her coffee and bread. "Anna, do you know about Lunny?"

"Lunny's? Are there any other residents in this house besides us?"

"I mean the Cloud's pet rabbit."

"Oh, who do I think."

"Mama!" cloud shouted while carrying a brown box from the front door. "What's this?" ask me when he gets closer. "The son of a letter." Maybe it means the postman. I saw Antony following from behind. "Do you want some toast, prince?" He nodded and I set foot in the kitchen. "Do you want coffee, James?"

"All right."

"I want to, too, Key," cried Antonius when I did not offer him. The three of them were opening the packages and there was a pile of toys that made me too many.

"Come here! We have breakfast together!" my orders to the Cloud and his two papas.

"Anna? Would you like to have breakfast with us?" He just waved a hand which means no.

"Prince, eat. Finish your chocolate milk." I rubbed her hair that started to lengthen.

"James, here's your coffee." I put a cup of coffee in front of James. "And Antonius, here's your coffee."

"Do you want to see a movie?"

"Good idea, darling."

"What about you, Antonius?"

"Can."

"Anna? Do you want to come with us?"

Anna just waved while occasionally laughing at the television show. Despite my dislike, I can't completely hate Anna. I felt sorry for him after Antony told him his story. And I just realized how selfish I was all along. Losing a child and a husband at the same time can be depressing. Meanwhile, there are no shoulders to lean on or just tell a story. There's regret seeping into the recesses of my soul. Regret for hating Anna and Antony for reasons I don't know.
