Chapter 46: Casey Fear Worms

Keyla turned off the air conditioner in her room and opened the window. It was almost one o'clock in the night and he had not been able to close his eyes at all. In fact, Keyla most bitterly told the Clouds and Stars to sleep at nine at night so that their bodies get used to the local clock.

The woman rested her body on a chair located on the balcony. The view of Paris that many women dream of being with their lovers, unable to shake Keyla's heart.

The woman's heart was filled with loneliness and longing for a man she used to talk to in serious or trivial matters that were not at all important. His heart was filled with regret. Had he been able to give his love to James before the man died, it might not have been so much pain left behind. He recalled their conversation a few days before James went to the African jungle for a photo shoot.

"*Why haven't you slept yet, dear?" james asked when he saw his pregnant wife was still awake.

"I still want to read a book. You go to sleep first, James," she replied without seeing the husband sitting next to her. He still looked at the book in front of him then turned to the next page. If anyone else was watching, they would have thought Keyla was reading a book. But not with James. He knows Keyla. Books are just an excuse so that he can drive away his sadness. The book is just an outlet of how his heart was hit over the accident that took the life of Antonius, his ex-husband and also the only man who until this moment filled his entire heart and earned his love.

"Don't get too late, baby. You have to take care of your health and our baby." James kissed his wife's forehead and Keyla's stomach was pregnant with their baby and entered the eighth month.

"Hmmm. You go to sleep, James."

Without saying any more, the man slid his body on the mattress and covered his body using a blanket. Although his eyes were closed, but not with his mind. He's still wondering.

If marrying Keyla meant getting her heart whole, she would be the happiest man in the world. However, James had to be content just to marry and be loved as a husband. Not loved as the owner of the heart. He did not blame Keyla, nor did he blame Antonius, he only blamed himself. Perhaps, he was not worthy enough to accept Keyla's whole heart.

-🗼The next day🗼-

"Get your health, James. I hope you can go home before our child is born" Keyla said, hugging James before the man left for the airport.

"Don't sleep till late at night. Eat regularly, don't stress too much. Understood?" James landed a warm kiss on his wife's forehead.

"Crawler! As long as you're not home, you have to take care of your mom and sister. Okay?"

"Ready, captain!" reply Clouds with a police-style movement that received orders from his superiors.

After saying goodbye, James took a taxi to the international airport. Keyla had no premonition. James' attitude was nothing strange either. He also prayed incessantly every time James traveled abroad. Although the feeling is not as great as he gave Antonius, it does not mean Keyla does not love James at all.

She loved James as her husband. As the father of his children and also his friend whom he trusted and trusted. Only James deserves to be her husband. Keyla will never forget how the man treated her during her stay in Quebec and protected her from Anna.

A few days after James' departure, a call came in from the Indonesian embassy in Africa informing him that James had an accident. The car he was riding in got into the ravine and caught fire. His body could no longer be recognized.

"Who called, Key?" ask Keyla's mom who's preparing dinner.

"James is in an accident, Ma," Keyla replied limply and dropped the phone's handle. Slowly her tears fell down her cheeks and began to sob.

"How could you leave me this way James? You promised you'd be home before our son was born ...."

"Honey .. relax, Keyla." Mama hugged Keyla who was screaming hysterically. Papa and Cloud, who were sitting in the backyard, hurriedly entered the house when they heard the cry of their son.

"Pa! Look at Keyla's water breaking!" My mom started to look panicked.

"God! What exactly is going on?! Call a taxi! Awan, call your grandfather and tell him your mom's about to give birth!"

"Keyla! Keyla! Wake up baby .. This is Papa. Keyla!" shouted papa while patting the cheek of his son who was unconscious.

"How's our son and the baby doing, Doc?" ask me as soon as a doctor comes out of the operating room.

"The operation went well. Once the patient is conscious, we'll move Keyla's mother to the treatment room. For the baby, she is still in intensive care. Let's pray a lot."

"Pah ...," said Mama just before her body staggered.

"Calm, Ma. Keyla and our granddaughter must be fine." He hugged my mom who was crying. While Awan was still sitting on the long chair located in front of the operating room with bread in his hand. He did not really understand what happened, but in his heart the boy prayed that his mother and sister would be given salvation.

🗼🗼🗼Several days later ....🗼🗼🗼

"How are you doing Keyla?" ask James' father as soon as he gets to the hospital. He flew from Papua after his work was completed. Although he actually wanted to quickly come so received a call from the Clouds that his daughter-in-law would give birth.

"Grandfather!" cloud shouted running towards his grandfather then hugged the man.

"Grandfather's grandson. Did you miss me?"

"certainly so. What toys did you bring?"

"Haha. Grandpa didn't bring any toys this time. How about we buy it at lunch?"

"Good idea! Haha."

"Keyla's good, Pa. Papa how?" Keyla answered with her face still pale and looked still devastated by the death of her husband.

"Don't worry about your old father, my son. As long as you and Papa's grandchildren are fine, Papa will always be healthy."

Hearing her father-in-law's voice speak in such a gentle tone, Keyla's tears fell and grew louder as the man in black embraced her with an affection that felt very clear.

"Cry, son. Cry as much as you do .. After that smile and be happy because you have two responsibilities now. They need you. You must be strong! You must be strong! If not, who will raise my two grandchildren? Only you can. We, your parents, can only help. You're the one who has to fight*."
