Chapter 87: Survive

"Let me take the car" Malvin said. Dariel then nodded. Take Casey to his car.

"I'm coming.." said Adeline.

"No dear. You're at home" Malvin refused. Adeline shook her head.

"Don't ban me Malvin, I want to see him. Casey is my sister" Adeline said in a raised voice. Malvin sighed and finally let Adeline come along.

Malvin drives his car to Arthur's brother Dariel's hospital.

"Darling. persisted. Please." said Dariel with a trembling voice rubbing Casey's pale face.

"By.. Dariel.. was sick once.." said Casey wept stammering in Dariel's lap.

"Casey, please, hang on" said Adeline holding Casey's hand.

"Everything will be fine..." Dariel peeps Casey's forehead.

"My heart hurts so much" Casey said grimacing in pain.

"Dear, we'll be in the hospital soon" Dariel replied with tears. Dariel couldn't see Casey withstanding her pain. Casey is not an easy guy. Even when Jenifer was declared dead, Dariel tried hard and did not cry. But this time it's different. Dariel has always been overshadowed by the fear of losing Casey.

"Casey. baby.. oh no! Casey. hang on," said Dariel, shaking Casey's body as she nearly lost consciousness.

Shortly after, they arrived at the hospital. Casey was taken to the VVIP room for inspection.

"Sorry Mr. Dariel, you should wait outside with the others" said the doctor.

"No, let me in. I must see my wife," replied Dariel refused.

"But Mr_"

Dariel's gaze did not shift in the slightest from the doctor and nurse who were dealing with Casey. His body was fitted with infusions and breathing apparatus.

After examining Casey's condition, the doctor approached Dariel.

"Look at Mr. Garfield. Your wife has a serious illness. Your wife has blood clots in the brain. And it seems your wife doesn't realize it. It's likely that this happened because your wife had an injury to her head before" said the doctor.

"A.. what? then how about next," Dariel said in a trembling voice. Dariel doesn't know what happened to Casey before.

Vaguely Casey could still hear the doctor's talk with Dariel. Casey recalled that one year ago he had been robbed and tried to save himself, but unfortunately Casey fell and his head hit a rock. At that time he was unconscious. When she woke up, Casey was in a home.

"We have to operate on it right away?" said Doctor.

"All right, do it right away. I just want my wife to be okay" Dariel said.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you, if the success rate of this operation is only 20 percent. If your wife survives, she'll most likely experience paralysis and amnesia" the doctor said, leaving Dariel stunned as he was struck by lightning in broad daylight. The doctor's statement just made Dariel stare blankly at Casey.

"No. No matter what happens, you have to save my wife" Dariel snapped close to Casey's bad gurney and clasped Casey's hand tightly. Looked at Casey's face.

"Darling you won't leave me, will you" said Dariel shedding tears. Unable to accept reality. Casey stared at Dariel's face. His body was very limp, just to speak a little it felt like he could not. His head wanted to break.

"We must immediately operate Mr Garfield" said the doctor, who ordered the nurse to push the gurney into the operating room. Dariel pushed the gurney while holding Casey's hand.

"Darling. Don't scare me" said Dariel.

Adeline, who sees Casey being taken out of the room, follows her from behind with Malvin.

"I shouldn't be here, not you" Dariel said, peeping at Casey's hand.

"Mr Garfield, this time you can't go inside. We ask for his cooperation" said the doctor, who kept Dariel from going inside.
