"Nick?"
Nick who had just entered the mansion stopped. He turned to his right and found Mary walking closer to him.
"Good morning, ma'am," said Nick as he lowered his head.
Maria replied with a nod. "Morning."
"Do you need anything, madam?"
For a moment Maria thought, her look hesitated before saying. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
Now it was Nick's turn to be silent. Judging from the serious look of Mary it seemed that the woman was about to talk about something important.
"certain. What does the madam want to talk about?"
Maria gestured for Nick to follow her. They walked to the east wing of the mansion and stopped in one of the corridors.
"You've been following Ko Gibran for a long time. Must be .. a little bit you know about him."
"Yes?"
"The events in Papua."
Nick's body stiffened faintly.
"When he has a seizure and shortness of breath, you know what happens?"
"The doctor said it wasn't the first time. Tell me, whenever has he ever experienced it?"
Nick remained silent. His voice was filled with doubt. But Maria doesn't want to give up, she has to know what really happened to Gibran.
"Lady, this morning we had a meeting"
"Nick, your attitude like this makes me even more convinced that you're hiding something" Maria said sharply.
Nick was stuck for a long time, then he sighed and threw it away. "I'm sorry, ma'am. But ... This is beyond my capacity to say."
Maria clucked away face towards the window. "I thought you were so loyal to him."
"Sorry," Nick said once again, looking down.
A few minutes of the atmosphere were both filled with silence. Maria is busy guessing, while Nick desperately searches for a more polite reason to run away. God, he could die if he stays here for a long time.
"Mrs ..."
"Night she almost had it."
"Yes?" Nick was surprised.
Maria focused her attention on Nick. "If I don't quickly distract him, maybe the same thing will happen again."
"No, it will likely be much worse" recalls Maria.
Nick's forehead is wrinkled deep. His expression mixed. Between surprise and curiosity.
"How can you?" whisper to no matter who.
Maria looked at her husband's assistant. "There was a bird that hit the window. The bird died, bleeding. But what surprised me was Koko's reaction."
"He ... he was like a momentary daze. His breathing sounded heavy, his eyes also bought with fear. As if ... something has drawn him into a different world." Maria seemed to remember last night.
Meanwhile Nick faithfully listened. No doubt his body also stiffened and guessed.
"I had to call him a few times. He looked around so consciously. I told you he was like a dazed man. Why do you think he is? Is this exactly the same as it ever was in Papua? Please tell me honestly, Nick."
"Mrs ..."
"Say!"
"I ..." Nick gulped. "Actually Mr ..."
Nick seems to be fretting about himself now. Should he tell Maria? It's really a difficult situation. On the one hand he had sworn allegiance to Gibran, but on the other he did not dare to oppose Mary.
Amidst the turmoil of the two, a faint voice sounded from the opposite direction. Both Nick and Maria instantly straightened their bodies in suspense. Maria's eyes panicked when she realized who the voice belonged to.
"Where's my wife?" It was Gibran's voice asking someone. Maybe a guard or a waiter, maybe a bodyguard.
"Jeez," whispered Mary muttering. He bites a finger before dropping a gaze on Nick, gesturing for the man to quickly move away.
Nick who understood then turned around left Maria. He quietly let out a sigh of relief from not having to say anything to the woman.
"Aih ... Why does he have to show up now?" muttered Maria grumbled.
"Where from?" asked Gibran with a deep frown.
Mary smiled pointing back. "Have a look at the eastern garden. Koko's looking for me?"
Gibran sighed, "I guess where," he murmured softly.
"Let's have breakfast. The food is ready" he continued. Now Gibran grabbed Mary by the arm and led her to the dining room.
Maria nodded with a smile. His hands turned to hug Gibran's biceps spoiled. The man's arm is most comfortable.
Gibran himself smiled a little got such treatment. His Mary has returned. After having a chance to stretch now their relationship is more tightly established.
Gibran sought to build Mary's trust. He tends to be careful if he is in the area of the mansion to prevent the same incident. Gibran did not want Maria to see him as a scary monster like that time.
"Nake?"
"Nummer ..." Maria was pleased.
Gibran smiled. "spent."
***
Gibran's steps led him to a room with a white gloss accompanied by elite sophistication. The double door shifted automatically as soon as it got in front of him.
Gibran casually entered the middle of the room. Everything was all white, impressed spacious and clean. A few meters from where he stood, a set of work tables made of marble of the same color. Make Gibran can't bear to not grunt.
"You're so obsessed with heaven" he wrote.
A man appeared as soon as the chair across the table turned, Grinning at Gibran. "Welcome, Young Master Wiranata ..."
"Finally you came looking for me."
"Why? Have you decided that I'm the most useful person to you? Hey, come on .. There's no doctor as good as me."
"Stop chattering."
"At least my babbling is not nonsense" he shrugged.
Gibran snorted circulating a glance. "You're so disgusting taste."
The place was so empty that it was almost unfurnished. There is only a work desk and a set of sofas of the same white color. While the room area should not be asked, it is very space-consuming and spends land for free.
"It's better to comment after saying what you're here for. You got all the way to Singapore definitely not without reason."
Gibran raised an eyebrow, began to step closer to then step himself before the man.
"Evans."
"Come on, don't force yourself to make small talk. I know that's not your forte."
Flat-sided gibran. Isn't he too chatty to be a man?
Not wanting to prolong the matter, Gibran let out a sigh. "It looks like my trauma is back."
Evan did not look surprised. It was as if he had expected that. "Then?"
"Looks like you were right, Maria was the trigger."
"Your wife?"
"Hm." Gibran.
"It happens often when Mary is around me."
Evan straightened up, looking at Gibran more closely. "Tell me."
"hallucinations. I always thought of Mary's death. I don't know if there's any other trigger besides him, but .. this is really torturing me" Gibran whispered at the end of his sentence.
"And you're desperate to marry her even if you know this is going to happen."
Gibran did not argue. But Evan also did not judge his friend.
"Honestly, it's actually been going on since the beginning of your marriage, right?"
"Out of town." Evan grunting. "That's just your excuse to avoid."
Maybe Sandra Willis ordered her to keep an eye on Gibran. But Evan actually did it because Gibran was not only his friend, but also his client.
It's a lie if Evan says he lost track of Gibran in Thailand. Evan helped the man get out of there.
