His Purpose

His Purpose
151. The Decide on Engagement

Maria was speechless staring at the food in front of her, this morning she had breakfast alone with Rayan. Secretly his eyes glanced back and forth as if looking for something.

He didn't want to ask, but was curious.

"Why not eat, son? Nausea?"

Climbing, Maria immediately shook her head. "Bu-Not. I'm ... just don't want to eat."

Mary looked down at her plate again. His appetite suddenly receded because of something.

Suddenly Nick appears. "Good morning, Mr. Madam."

Rayan. "Ah, you have arrived. Sit down" he said, moving his hand.

Mary looked at her father wondering. Rayan invited Nick to eat together?

Nick nodded. He sat on one of the chairs, opposite Mary.

"Because my son-in-law is not around, so I'll talk to you about this. Then please tell Gibran, yes."

"Good, Sir."

Maria frowned inexplicably. Mean what? Gibran's not home? Why didn't anyone tell him?

"like that. You'll tell him later, call me for more."

"Good, Sir."

I don't know what they're talking about. Maria has not stopped dreaming. His status was Gibran's wife, but why did Gibran just leave he didn't know?

To where? When did the man leave?

It's always been this way. Every problem must go. Thought Maria.

They finished breakfast. Inevitably Mary ate even though she had no taste. Nick went out of nowhere. His father was on the phone with one of his employees.

Only Mary looks unemployed. He is unemployed. But even so, she is a rich woman. Don't ask how many accounts, plus the assets Gibran gave that he should either do.

So far the assets are still managed by her husband because Gibran himself knows Maria is blind about the economy. The principle is to accept it. Types of women who refuse to work hard. Don't copy, yeah.

Rayan lowered her phone from her ear, then looked at her daughter who was still pensive. They're still in the dining room.

"What do you think about until daydreaming continues like that?"

Again, Maria nodded. He refused to express his heart.

"You want to ask about your husband?" It seemed that Rayan understood what her daughter was thinking. The man sighed. "You're weird, yeah. All this time Papa observed that your relationship with Gibran seemed harmonious. You guys are friendly."

"But every problem is why do we always keep quiet? He wants to go and say nothing. Then you also do not want to ask because of prestige. Whose ego is too high here?"

Silent. Maria curled her finger on the table. Under the gaze of the papa he was unable to say. Mary herself did not know how she felt. On one hand he was disappointed in Gibran, on the other hand his subconscious was always looking for the man.

"Then did you meet Gabriel?"

Maria tensed.

"What do you feel when you meet him again?"

Mary silence. He doesn't know what to answer. His feelings are mixed.

"I don't know. I'm ... ordinary," he said slowly.

Rayan nodded. "That means you don't love her anymore. Papa's right, right?"

Now it was Maria who nodded. "But I'm disappointed. It turns out they've been working together without my knowledge."

"They .. they ..." Mary took a deep breath. "The wedding was Koko and El's scenario."

Maria looked at Rayan. "I'm just wondering, what used to be ... El ever loved me?"

Silent. Rayan looked at her daughter concerned. How her daughter knows nothing. Rayan is also reluctant to reveal the truth because it can aggravate the condition of Maria.

Papa's right. Maria just has to focus on her marriage. After all, Gabriel was no longer anyone but a sister-in-law.

Maria smiled and nodded. Suddenly Rayan said. "Gibran is in New York with Gabriel. Last night he took a break and tipped you."

Maria looked quickly. "New York's? Want what?"

But Rayan just sniffed the omens of not knowing. More precisely he pretended not to know. "Maybe they have business. Already, don't interfere. The important thing is your husband is loyal and doesn't play women."

Elsewhere, in the American hemisphere, Gibran seemed calm sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed. Before long a man came to greet her full of smiles.

"Young Master Willis ..." The man laughed. Whether happy or unexpected. "How are you?"

Gibran got up to receive the middle-aged man's brief embrace. "Okay" he answered briefly.

"You always avoid every meeting."

The statement was syndicated. Gibran gave a faint snort, ignoring the slur.

"I want to break off the engagement" he said without warning.

Elias, the man is silent.

"Mr White herself must know, I am a married man now."

Gibran doesn't want to talk anymore. He knew that during this time not only Willis was watching, but White was also watching.

"There's no way you give Valencia to a married man, is it?"

The mood turned awkward. Silence accompanies each side. Elias was in his place. He then chuckled awkwardly and began to try to be relaxed.

"We're willing to wait for you then."

Gibran. "You expecting me to get divorced?"

Elias chuckles. "We know what your family is. Willis's not happy with your wife." It sniffed. "Yes .. who knows what's next?"

Gibran's jaw tightens. "Nothing's gonna happen. I make sure my wife is okay and away from people like you."

"Instead of waiting for my marital status, you better marry your daughter soon. He has a man of his own choice." Gibran has lost respect until it is out of formal limits.

He snorted cynically. "That's if you think about her life."

"You're saying I should marry my daughter to your wretched sister?"

"My goal is Willis, he's just an unacknowledged son."

Gibran grinned sharply. "You think working with Willis can reap the benefits? Just so you know, they're predators who don't see who's friends who fight. If he thinks you're useless, they'll cut you down mercilessly. Think it out."

Elias just smiled. "You yourself, how sure can you avoid his clutches?"

Gibran.

"All I know is you're a powerful young man. But, anything that concerns that woman always makes you weak."

"With such instincts, how can you be sure your defense is not faltering?"

"Father!" There was a cry from upstairs.

Valencia stood there. "Enough! Don't you realize what Papa's doing? I told you to stop connecting with Willis's family. They're ruthless! Don't you know what they did to Mary before? It doesn't rule out the possibility that they'll do the same to me."

"Valencia! Get in the room!"

"I want to see Gabriel! Why isn't he coming with you?"

Gibran, who was asked, refused to answer, making Valencia upset and tearing themselves up.

They had fought before. But Valencia can't be angry at Gabriel for long either, because not only is he hurt by this loss, Gabriel must be the same.
