"Mrs. Wiranata, long time no see" said a man as soon as they approached the center of the room.
Maria thought the man was the owner of the show.
"Mrs. Chaow, how are you?" Gibran returned a brief hug to the man. They seem pretty close.
"good. My news is very good. How's yours?" ask her in Thai that Maria doesn't understand.
Gibran surprisingly answered in the same language. Jesus, how many languages does Gibran speak? Yesterday Japan, now Thailand. Maria really feels like an idiot right now.
"Waah .. You haven't changed. Your charm is still the same as the last I saw. Haha ..."
"This ..." Attention Mr. Chaow turned to Maria.
Making the woman slightly jerked, especially when Gibran's hand was embracing her waist. "She's my wife, Maria Tjandra."
"Wife?" Mr. Chaow slightly exclaimed in shock. "Ah, it turns out that the rumor is true. At first I was very surprised to hear the news of your wedding," he continued, interspersed with laughter.
Gibran only smiled faintly in response. While Maria, she wondered to what extent the news of her marriage spread. It seemed like it was just a form of rumor circulating among the upper class, not the media.
"My daughter will definitely be very disappointed to know this truth" murmured Mr. Chaows.
Maria raised an eyebrow, looking at Gibran. But the man looked relaxed and indifferent as always.
As they walked over to greet Gibran's other colleagues, Maria approached and whispered in Gibran's ear. "I didn't expect Koko to be a potential son-in-law for some people" he said in a slightly witty tone.
Gibran glanced at him at a glance, "Of course."
Maria sneered, before her expression changed and was replaced by a friendly smile. As the crowd greeted Gibran, Gibran introduced Mary exactly as he did Mr. Chaow.
Talks about business and stocks were flowing. There are some that Mary understands, but most of the others Mary does not understand. Mary was only in the daze when one of them asked her about her father. Apparently the Tjandra family is also quite well known, at least in the Southeast Asian scene.
Bored, Maria asked Gibran for permission to find a snack. He whispered softly in Gibran's ear. The man replied with a small nod. Maria left after nodding as an expression of forgiveness to the people there.
He drifted away with all his long stifled breath. Honestly, as one of the children of the conglomerate Maria rarely attended official events such as corporate parties. Counted several times he joined Rayan as a child until adolescence. The rest of Mary almost never followed her father again despite being asked.
Mary looked back for a moment. Gibran is still talking to his colleagues. He sighed again, turning his eyes to the long row of tables that held a certain amount of food.
Not at home, not outside, Mary remains ignored by Gibran.
He began to look at the different types of food there. This is not the first time Maria has been to Thailand. He also often vacationed with Rayan and her friends. And some of these foods he already knows and knows the taste.
However, there are still many of them that Mary has not tried. You could say he just saw it now.
"It's a traditional Thai food. It's just that it's been upgraded to be more modern and contemporary. Isn't that amazing? Tryin. They looked luxurious yet did not leave behind his ethnic taste."
Mary looked at the woman beside her. The woman was also looking at him and throwing a smile.
He blinked, "You're from Indonesia?" tanyanya when she realized the woman asked her to speak the language of the country.
Maria never thought she would meet her sister here. Except Gibran of course.
Still smiling the woman nodded. "certain. You too, right?"
"A-Aah .. true." Maria threw an awkward smile while nodding. His voice looked a little astonished. He wondered in his heart where the woman knew.
Mary was silent for a moment staring at the white delicate hand. He could not refuse the introduction when he saw how friendly the look of Valencia.
"Maria" he said, replying to Valencia's hand.
"You're here the same ..." Valencia hung up his words.
"... Husband," timpal Mary hesitated a little.
Valencia's mouth is rounded to form the long, silent word "Oh. His head was hanging out through the ballroom. "Which one is your husband?"
Maria flashes. Is it okay to introduce Gibran as her husband? After all, the man had taken Mary as a wife in front of his colleagues earlier.
Then he pointed to the middle, where Gibran and his colleagues were talking about business.
Valencia was silent for a moment. Maria had no idea what the woman was thinking until Valencia turned her head with a slightly agape expression. "Gibran Wiranata?"
Maria nodded late. While Valencia shook his head while saying, "Excellent."
"Why? You knew her?"
For some reason, Maria's heart was hit with misgivings.
"Of course!" Valencia exclaims. Thank goodness it doesn't attract people.
"I saw it in a magazine a while ago. He is included in the ranks of young entrepreneurs who are rapidly growing version of Forbes 2022. Not only that, lately his face often adorns almost the entire magazine cover. I can't believe I'm talking to his wife right now."
Maria grimaced not knowing what to respond.
"Now I understand why you can have those earrings. Your husband Gibran Wiranata. It's not impossible to get it."
"Yes?" mary did not understand.
Valencia smiled in surprise, "You don't know, huh? Earrings are very difficult to obtain because only 2 pairs are produced in the world."
Maria sculpts. The explanation that Valencia said just made him realize that he was no longer following the development of world fashion. Maria is too busy with her marriage to Gibran who has no idea where she's going.
"Ah .. so." That's all Maria can say.
His conversation with Valencia ended when the woman left because the lover sent him a message. He returned to Gibran's side with two drinks. Mary gave Gibran one. The man accepted it and quickly tasted it without a sound.
Maria was used to Gibran like that. He knew Gibran was the laziest to open his mouth to things as unqualified as saying thank you.
"Thank you" whispered Mary to Gibran. The man's forehead was faintly wrinkled.
"I didn't know how great Koko was until she got the rare earrings I'm wearing now."
Maria smiled, their eyes glued to each other.
"One thing I know ... Koko's money is very much, hihi ..." He immediately turned his eyes away, ignoring Gibran who was snorting beside him.
However, a second later he was startled by a lightning kiss that greeted his ears.
Maria freezes. His heart was racing five times as fast as usual. What Gibran did just made him die on the spot.
