How to Kill a Dragon

How to Kill a Dragon
Chapter 22: The Village Near the Dungeon

Near the dungeon was a small village that still stood well, some people in charge of maintaining security interrogated the three.

They were only men from the village who used spears and swords that had low quality.

"Who are you and what do you want?"

"We're from the guild and came to solve the problem here," Marisa replied showing her adventurer card.

"You must be joking, we need rank A adventurers to save our village, you guys can't possibly protect us."

Elizabeth clutched the collar of the man's clothes.

"You're talking too much, if we're not the ones who want to take it, the pay you're paying is too small for a job that's risking lives, and obviously they don't want to take it because that's why thank you that we're still willing to do it."

Cold smoke spread around him.

"Owh, stop Elizabeth you're scaring everyone."

An old man with a stick came to calm down.

"I'm sorry one of our villagers, will you let him go."

Elizabeth pushed her down, her face was indeed beautiful but there was no gentleness in it.

"No problem."

"Thank you, it's late afternoon.please, we'll show you a room to rest."

"Good."

The village chief gave them the room normally given to guests, and began to explain the circumstances that befell his village.

"Basically the dungeon not far from here has been inactive for a long time but since last week the undead began to appear attacking this village, at first a Lich visited the village and he asked for one sacrifice from the girl every month but obviously we refused it until this happened."

"Why don't you guys get out of here?" marisa.

"He took advantage but at least he did."

Shina who knew Lich's movements showed a troubled face.

"That lich is trying to have a body again by taking the blood of the girls gradually, we obviously shouldn't let it."

"Elizabeth what do you think?"

"He deliberately did this, if he tried to attack the city he would most likely have to face off against powerful adventurers so he chose a path like this, instead, making this village go through such despair that they would like to give up their child, if one day it ran out he would try to get these villagers to take the girl somewhere else."

"Impossible?"

"What Elizabeth said was right desu, it took 100 girls to make her have a body back."

The face of the village chief paled even more.

"Please save our village."

"Of course, but it's good that you haven't given a single girl to her, because even if you do it all for nothing."

The Undead will be stronger by nightfall so the three will move the next day and for now they will only fight the Undead who are trying to attack this village.

Shina pointed her staff and a circle of light appeared under the feet of the skulls that barged in then shattered into fragments of light.

Not only the skulls of the zombies also appear and easily burned by Marisa or frozen by Elizabeth into dust debris.

"So it's holy magic?"

"Great no, I'm the most powerful priest ever."

"I wonder if you're strong why do you have to go adventurer?"

Marisa's words were right in Shina's heart.
