Chapter 62: The Ruins

Shina walked ahead, behind her Elizabeth, Marisa and Noel followed.

The area itself is not as easy as it seems, where they have to pass through swamps and shrubs.

"Why do I have to be in front?"

"The little ones are easy to lose, so we need a position where everyone can see you" Marisa replied.

"It's so annoying," Shina's cry decided her annoyance.

The more through the forest, the less light that enters from above, they find a ruin that was previously a residential building, Ivy plants are also fertile bodies here.

"I'm still wondering what caused the tribe here to disappear?" noel's question represents another feeling, before coming here only Elizabeth was told about the details of Lulu the archaeologist so it was appropriate that she told the others as well.

"According to Lulu there was some kind of beast that killed them, some archeologists who examined this place also did not know what happened but out of all the people who came only a small portion could survive."

"With sea monsters everywhere it is clear coming here must also be difficult" Marisa added.

They went up to a place of stairs where at the top there was an altar that was used as a place of worship, there was a statue of a woman that had been eroded there and under the statue the place where the artifact was located.

Noel drew his sword while circling the surroundings with a wary look.

"Something is approaching."

Shina and Marisa are also on alert while Elizabeth already knows what is approaching.

"Everything's evading."

As he called out to them, a head slid on them. Shina is captured by Elizabeth and the rest can avoid her well.

"What's so great, don't tell me that he's the one who killed the whole tribe?" Shina said what everyone thought. While the snake sticks out its tongue with killing intent before chasing after Shina and Elizabeth who run up.

It is not strange this happens because Shina is always interesting to be a victim of anyone including wild animals.

Noel and Marisa chased from behind while shooting the magic they could but it was in vain.

Elizabeth created a wall of ice and it was shattered strewn with just being head-headed.

Elizabeth lowers Shina down and asks her to go up first in order to retrieve her artifact, as the snake glides at Elizabeth she easily kicks her until her body rolls tumbling down.

Noel and Marisa lowered their heads as the snake's body passed over them. The snake got up and climbed back up.

Marisa and Noel ran past Elizabeth who touched her hand on the stairs, just as the snake approached she froze completely and was smashed to pieces.

"We should hurry back to the ship, I smell a lot of other snake scents," said Elizabeth, both nodding her assent before finally following the existence of Shina who was trying to push her statue.

"It's so heavy, please help me."

They together pushed him and with that they could see the artifact that was meant to be a flat circular object.

Elizabeth retrieves it before it turns into a dragon and flies off to where their ship is.

From above Elizabeth's back, everyone turned their eyes down and saw how giant snakes started popping up from all directions.

There the snake and above, Elizabeth must avoid the lightning that is after her.
