Chapter 58: The Heart of the Devil

Zero stepped forward with a punch, though outnumbered as a top-tier demon he was not at all daunted.

He grabbed Noel's sword and threw it into a row of houses, while Elizabeth gave him a slash of ice that slashed at him, a slash that was very dangerous even for Zero was difficult to overcome unless he dodged.

A magic circle of light and fire had sprung up above his head then shattered into glowing dust fragments.

"Our magic is useless" said Marisa, whom Elizabeth answered.

"It's not just useless, your magic circle needs three seconds to activate while Zero is able to destroy it 2 seconds faster."

"We only have to use magic in one second."

Elizabeth gave a nod in return, with her dragon instinct at her disposal, at least she could analyze the opponent's strength faster than humans, he said,

Marisa and Shina stared at each other for a moment and finally decided to use quick magic, although not as strong as other magic at least it will not be easily thwarted.

"Fire Bolt "

"Holy Magic."

A fireball and a ball of light were shot from the stick of both, each hitting Zero's body directly, it was enough to give him a sore wound that he was annoyed with.

Elizabeth slid out from the puff of smoke where the tip of her sword quickly stabbed into her heart.

Zero grinned like a demon.

"It's a pity, but my heart can move wherever I want."

"Guakhs."

Elizabeth did not escape until Zero's hand went through her stomach and she was thrown through the building.

Shina hurriedly approached him to provide healing magic as well as get rid of the debris that had befallen her.

"Elizabeth," Noel said forward with his sword, through his sword he dismembered Zero's entire body but Zero's black heart could move swiftly and now seemed to float through the air, the heart has eyes and mouth.

The heart gave off a ray of darkness and then the whole body was fused back together.

"A little more" said Noel's frustration.

Noel sent out his hand but it was twisted and broken and then kicked with incredible force until blood spurted from his mouth. With Noel's fight, Marisa has created five parallel magic circles, before Zero removes the magic the fire first leads to her.

A few Demon troops suddenly appeared in front of him then inflated himself as a wall, unless their Zero was charred in flames.

Marisa tried to reactivate her magic unfortunately Zero was in front of her giving one punch in the stomach until her body rose into the air then followed by a half-turn kick. As a result of the powerful attack Marisa coughed and blood incessantly came out of her mouth.

"You're a powerful witch unfortunately you picked the wrong opponent."

The sound of someone cutting.

"Dead you!"

Noel ambushed from behind, his right hand was broken so he used his left hand, his Grimore glowing which enveloped his sword as well.

If an ordinary enemy he would definitely chop off his head unfortunately his opponent the devil, if it could not destroy the heart of the demon he would continue to regenerate.

Zero sacrificed her hand until it was cut into the air, with her legs still fighting back where she kicked Noel's body from the side up to several times.

Despite the fall Noel continued to rise against her, on the other hand Elizabeth sat down while holding her wound. Rather than asking Shina to heal him she told Shina to do one thing: destroy the heart of the devil.

Shina creates a light bow from her wand and raises an arrow between her index finger and thumb.

Elizabeth rises.

"Noel and I will destroy his body, when his heart is seen immediately shot."

"I understand."

Shina only had one chance hence she could not fail or everyone would die.

Elizabeth helps Noel's movement by pushing him forward with herself.

"You have never known the word surrender, now man is dead."

Zero's two hands cut back.

"What?"

Noel collapsed to the ground and Elizabeth's slash scattered Zero's body even as her intestines seemed to be chopped up in midair.

Shina squinted her eyes, just as the heart of the demon was about to move, a light arrow pierced her and brought her to the wall.

A shrill scream of pain echoed into the air until whoever heard it had to cover his ears.

Zero is confirmed to be dead.
