Reallity VS Drakor

We now sit down to enjoy dinner at a restaurant in the Old City area, more precisely in front of the Fatahilah Museum Building. An old building transformed into a very comfortable restaurant, with a retro concept that feels thick. Old posters and photographs are attached to a light brown painted wall that blends into a wood-dominated interior with tall windows that become a wall in one section.

Sitting by the window, we were presented with a view of the Old City under the age of street lights and sky. After the magrib prayer, the Boss took me to eat and by using his car we headed here together.

“I spoke to my parents this morning.” The boss started the conversation after the waiter left with a menu note of our dinner order.

“Dan ... the result is?” I asked while looking at him who was sitting casually leaning on the chair.

“Not yet,” the answer is short. He now leaned forward with both elbows piled on the table. “But I have told them everything, including my desire to determine myself with whom I will marry and knit my future.”

Our eyes rubbed for a while, until I finally cleared my throat and turned my eyes out the window. Why should I be ashamed to hear that? Not necessarily it was me in question that she would choose to marry. Remember, the final verdict of His Majesty has not yet come down.

“And they already know about you,” he continued while leaning back relaxed.

“What?” I looked back at him in surprise. “How do they know? What did the Boss tell them?”

“No. I was going to tell them when the match was cancelled.”

“Not Boss? So how do they know about me?” So where do they know about me? Is this possible like in Korean dramas where the rich man's parents tell someone to spy on his son? “Did anyone take a picture of us last night and send it to your father?”

“How do you know?”

“So it's true?” The boss looked at me and then nodded. “Waaah, I think it's only in Korean dramas.” I looked at the Boss in disbelief, whereas the person I was looking at was just furrowing an eyebrow.

“What's in Korean drama?”

“Yes it is, exactly like this, Boss!”

“What is like this? And stop calling me Boss, you've agreed on giving me a chance and you've also admitted that you like me, so stop calling me Boss when you're out of the office.”

“Ehm!” I was embarrassed to be reminded of me confessing my feelings.

Boss .. hmmm, I mean Caraka. She smiled satisfiedly at me who was flushed with embarrassment. Luckily the waiter came to deliver our dinner. Steak complete with french fries, carrot pieces, peas and corn as a complement.

“So what exactly happened in Korean drama?” The boss asked again while cutting the steak.

“A wealthy parent who hires someone to follow and spy on his child.”

“Hahaha, for a person who always thinks realistically like you, it turns out you have high imaginary power ... you should be a writer of fiction novels.”

“Now my own life has been like a Disney movie, so why not just double up to be a Korean drama as well.”

“Hahaha.”

The boss laughed while swapping my plate with him. Getting the plate with the steak cut perfectly made me laugh while shaking my head.

“One of The Prince's moves?”

“Not just a magic card that makes women subjugated by me.”

“Hahaha.”

“So, what makes you think Papah told someone to spy on me?”

“Hmmm ... it happens often in Korean dramas.” I chewed on a steak that felt soft mixed with fresh barbeque sauce. “Suspecting parents of their child in a relationship with an ordinary woman. In this case I (Caraka smiles while chewing on her steak). So he decided someone to spy on his son and find out who the woman was.”

I continued eating, I saw Caraka nodding her head while chewing and then swallowing.

“Fortunately Papah never watched a Korean drama so he doesn't do such a thing.”

I took the fries then ate them while furrowing my eyebrows.

“So, who reported us?”

“One of our family acquaintances.” Like me, Caraka now takes a piece of potato, then bribes it. “You remember that night there was an event in the indoor area?”

“Iya.” I look at him seriously now.

I nodded my head while returning to bribe the steak pieces. “It also likes to be in movies or dramas.”

“Hahaha .. scenes in the film and drama are inspired by real life,” said Caraka as she resumed eating.

“Yes, hopefully one scene that often happens in the Korean drama-style Cinderella story, does not happen to me.”

Caraka looked at me while raising an eyebrow, “What is it?” his mouth again bribed his last steak.

“The scene when the man's mother watered the woman's face.”

“Hahaha .. uhuk-uhuk-uhuk!” He quickly took mineral water and gulped it down trying to relieve a choking cough after laughing at my words.

“The scene is often in Korean dramas.” Not paying attention to Caraka who was still coughing small I continued saying while occasionally bribing the fries. “Usually the Mother will offer first the money in large quantities so that the woman singlekannya child, well if the woman refuses she will flush tuh women use drinking water.”

“If that's the case what will you do?” The boss asked after stopping coughing.

“Hmmm ..” I took a sip of lemon tea ice before answering his question. “I'll take the money.”

The boss raised his eyebrows not surprised by my words, I could see the look in his eyes looked disappointed.

“You'll take the money and go leave me?”

“Iya, I'll take the money. Get out of here with Mamah and Oka .. then after getting a new place I give you my new address, so you can catch up and we can get back in touch.”

Caraka was silent for a while before finally laughing out loud. “Smart!” it's between laughter.

“But just in case who knows you're in the scribble of heirs and family cards, so don't forget to move all your deposits and savings.”

“Hahahaha .. I will do it.”

I was silent for a moment, as sudden as thought reached me .. aaah, damn it! Me and my curiosity can't be dammed.

"If only ... this was if only, okay!" Caraka raised a confused eyebrow hearing me.

"If what?"

"Hmmm ..."

I hesitated for a while, actually not hesitating more precisely afraid of hearing the answer I would hear, but I had to know. Bismillah! With determination I asked,

"If your parents didn't approve of us, and they asked you to stay engaged to Anggi ... What would you do?"

Caraka was silent for a moment, her eyes looking at me deeply, making my heart pound a little tensely waiting for her answer.

"I'll follow my parents' orders."

My heart paled a little to hear it even though I could already guess that answer that he would choose. But may I wish that he would choose me?

Aaah, Kirana Az Zahra .. Have you not known the end of this relationship? why should you be disappointed to hear it?

I smiled while nodding trying to cover up my disappointment.

"I will follow the will of my parents."

He said again then gave a slight pause, his eyes looking at me deeply, before continuing his words.

"I'm going to stall my engagement, while moving all my savings, deposits and other assets. I will secretly buy a house where no one will recognize me, after all I will take you, your Mom and Oka to live there."

I was silent for a while before I finally laughed. There was a feeling of hearing that from his mouth, whether joking or not, but I was happy that at least I was in his future plans.

"We're going to open a small business .. maybe a grocery store?" he continued to make me nod in agreement, laughing at our escape plan.

He kept revealing his plan, I would occasionally chimed in to give him crazier ideas to make him laugh.

That night we laughed while enjoying dinner, fantasizing about the worst conditions we would experience. I didn't think about it too seriously. I mean, instead of not wanting our relationship to be serious, it's just that right now I just want to follow where this relationship will lead to.

Now that I will follow what Siska and Mamah said, I do not want to regret and as long as I can I will enjoy this relationship, during the absolute decision of His Majesty the King has not come down —if I do not know yet what the decision of the King— and as long as the Queen has not flirted with me. I will enjoy being Cinderella.
