If (If)
“So she is your ex?”
I nodded while removing the remains of my tears. We were in the apartment and I told Caraka everything.
“She insulted you too Mamah?”
“His family is him, not him.”
“Samely,” he said firmly making me speechless. “The person who only keeps quiet when he sees a crime happening, it is the same as he committed the same crime.”
I nodded in agreement.
“And when exactly did you meet her again?”
I thought about trying to remember when I met her again. “It looks like when Candra comes.”
“And you didn't tell me?”
“Sorry, I thought I wouldn't see him again and that day was just a coincidence.”
I saw Caraka sigh. “And so what did he want from you?”
“Apologies.”
“After so many years?” I'm nodding. “What ... do you forgive him?”
I sighed then nodded. “I have to forgive him right?” Caraka looked at me. “But I can't possibly forget it.” I bowed while breathing. "Am I wrong if I haven't forgotten it?"
I looked up when I thought Caraka's hand was stroking my hair before finally hugging me.
“You're not wrong, that's a very natural thing .. You're great for having survived all this time, and you've done very well.”
I secretly smiled with relief and felt great for a moment because someone understood me.
I hugged her back no less tightly while whispering. “Thank you for always being by my side to support me, and understand me.”
“For that God created me, to protect, love and love you.”
I chuckle at hearing it.
"Other times when you meet people who hurt you, let me know, so that I can come to support you immediately."
I nodded in his arms.
“What now is all done?” I let go of the embrace of looking at him cluelessly with his question. “Your deal with your ex, is it done? Are there no more pending and unresolved affairs?”
“For me it was all done five years ago, that was .. maybe the debt he should have paid first. So now it's all done.”
Caraka nodded her head. “So there's no reason for him to see you again?”
“No, not at all. Everything is completely finished.”
“Good! I don't want when I should surprise my arrival to see you with another man.”
“Hahaha .. but I'm so glad you came. Meeting him would not want to remember me on the incident five years ago, when I was really alone and I was back to feeling that solitude, that was, no one was standing next to me and when I saw you I was so happy to know this time was different. I am no longer alone .. there is you who are always beside me.”
He smiled as he raised his eyebrows proudly. “Aaah, I am indeed outstanding, most reliable for any affairs.”
“Hahaha.” I laughed regretfully praising her, but however she said true ..she was most reliable for that I rewarded her with a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you for always being reliable.”
He was silent then clucked. “Less dong, time is just doang.”
“Hahaha.” I stood up and walked towards the room. “Shalat, already adzan magrib tuh.”
“Lanjutin already prayed huh?”
“Hahaha.”
I laughed as I continued walking towards the bathroom to take a bath, and prepared to pray the magrib greeting the person I hoped to be my priest in the future.
After the magrib prayer, it was fortunate that Caraka forgot the 'additional gift' she had asked for, because I immediately invited her to dinner, and this is the first time I came out of the superblock area to enjoy the night of Surabaya which is no less popular like Jakarta.
“Common to Surabaya? How to memorize the streets of Surabaya?” I asked as the car that Caraka was driving turned towards UNESA (Syabaya State University). “Ah, I forgot that the former fiancee candidate used to be Surabaya.”
“Hahaha .. I went to Surabaya just for work.”
“Hey, who just met the ex here? Definitely not me.”
“That accidental meeting was not intentional meeting.”
“I never came here with the intention of meeting him,” he said with a big smile making me glare. “I'm serious, Honey. The only woman who made me deliberately come to Surabaya was you.”
I gave a smile as I looked outside where Caraka's car was now taking us into the elite housing. The rustling houses majestically made me furrow my brows.
“Where are we going to eat or where? How to enter complex?”
We are now passing through the park with an artificial lake complete with Merlion statue like in Singapore. On the left right of the road are heavily guarded luxury clusters.
Caraka just smiled without answering. We now turn right and the atmosphere of the meeting began to be seen with a neon sign that read G-Walk, a dining area located in an elite residential complex, with cafes and restaurants lined up tens of meters.
“Come!”
Caraka embraced my shoulder and we began to enter the G-Walk area, looking for a suitable place among the many options available. Along the way he did not let go of his embrace made me really feel safe among the traffic of people who were looking for a place to eat dinner, or just hang out.
My eyes are presented by the atmosphere of the theme of the decoration of cafes and restaurants that stand on the left and right side of the road, there are cafes that offer a shahdu atmosphere with decorative candles, there are also those that match with neon-neons, there are also those that offer a shahdu atmosphere with candlelight, with a wide selection of menus from modern to traditional.
We decided to sit in the outdoor area of the restaurant with candlelight and torch lighting that makes the romantic atmosphere really awake, a restaurant that serves a traditional menu.
“So, besides the man, is there still an ex that I have to anticipate again?” Caraka asked as she received the plate I had filled with Madura princess duck rice thalam.
“No, my ex is not as much as you. Only Elvan.” I scooped up the rice lengakap with a duck for myself.
Caraka was speechless looking at me, “So her name is Elvan .. how long have you been dating her?”
“Hahaha.” I laughed and understood the meaning of the question. He is jealous of my past. “Almost a year.”
I bribed the Madurese princess's duck-talam rice whose spices tasted almost similar to kebeli rice, plus chili peppers, green tomatoes, terraced anchovies, and so on, as well as peanuts that seem to be sauteed with samin oil and olive oil into sambal served on a delicious fried duck.
“It turns out I'm not the one who should be ready for pesticides, but you because you are near the green flies.”
“Hahaha.” I can only laugh while enjoying the fried duck.
“What does he stay here?”
“Don't know, I didn't ask and it doesn't matter either right?” Caraka nodded her head while chewing her food. “From the thought of where he lives, I'm more curious about where my father and Bi live now.” I returned to bribe my food.
“Oh yes,” he said with his mouth full, he chewed then swallowed his meal. “Is there a bright spot already?”
“Not yet, I tried to find out from the kids in the office, said they had no farm H. Joko, there's a H. Disconnecting. But I was planning to go to those farms who knows who knows H. Joko, Pakde Bayu, Randi Prasetyo or Bi.”
Caraka was silent looking at me, “Who? Randi Prasetyo?”
“Iya, that's my father's name.”
Caraka furrowed her brows.
“Do you know him?”
Caraka seemed to think. “I'm like I've heard that name, but where is it?” Caraka looked back to thinking. “Randi ... Randi ..”
“Randi ... announced name?”
Caraka fell silent then nodded.
“You're right, common name. Maybe one of my acquaintances used to be.” I nodded and then continued eating. “Later I try to ask help my friends who live in Surabaya to find out about them.”
I smiled back while nodding.
“I'm always curious if we manage to find them ... what should I say first? Did I honestly say I was his daughter? What if he doesn't admit to me?”
The question that had always swirled around in my head .. I can't imagine what would be an unexpected family meeting and instead it would be an awkward one, I can't imagine, or will it be a blue meeting, filled with tears of happiness?
“Don't think too much now? Sometimes what we imagine does not necessarily happen, even the opposite happens.” Caraka took a sip of mineral water before returning to say. “So instead of us spending energy thinking about what will happen later, we better focus on finding the whereabouts of your father and sister first … it's not your fault, but those who have lost because they have wasted an amazing daughter and sister like you.”
I smiled hearing it.
“Whatever you need to remember I will always love you regardless of who your father is, whether your father accepts you or not. Because to me you are you, and I love your figure completely not your family background.”
How my heart did not rustle to hear it and how I did not fall more and more in love with the man sitting before me. Hearing his words made me feel relieved because whatever the outcome, whether you accept me or not it will have no effect on my relationship with Caraka.
It might only make me sad for a moment, but after that I will get used to it. After all, I and Oka grew up without a father figure.
Yes, all I need to do now is focus on finding a father as well as Bi, for the end result we leave it to the Supreme Owner of Destiny.
